Breaking news. Heard this reported on the BBC this morning.

There was a City fan on the radio at the weekend who was saying he couldn't believe Robinho's committment and effort every game. How he always wants the ball and is ten yards yards quicker in his brain than those players around him. I agree. I have to say whenever I've watched him he's looked fantastic for City. If only Roman and Kenyon had paid the extra to get him. Things might have turned out very differently for us this season.

Still not convinced to be honest Just and certainly not at £30+M.

He has been brilliant in some games but he has equally "gone missing" in others. Very hit and miss if you ask me and at that price you would really want 100% hit.

I would much rather us blood the youngsters now and see the likes of Stoch, Kakuta and Di Santo continue to get their chances than have a Robinho.

Absolutely Nibs. You know I totally share your thoughts on the youngsters. But you also know I'm also still to be convinced those kids are going to be given anymore pitch time than they are getting at the moment. Namely, the last few minutes of a match.

I think with Robinho you have to take into account City are still, for all their money, a very poor outfit overall. Other than Robinho their only other player I have seen this season worth a mention has been Stephen Ireland. You could put Frank Lampard in that team and I'm sure he would struggle to shine with so much dross around him. Be interesting to get Bluemoon's opinion on this one.

And anyway, Nibs, who would you rather have in your squad Malouda or Robinho?

Someone said that if Kaka had of gone to Citeh it would have been like putting Schumacher in a Minardi - Minardi would still have won nothing.

But if they buy scum like Bellamy they will buy anyone, that w**ker showed utter contempt for Zola and I wish him the worst.

Well I haven't seen anything about Robinho to cause me to like him one little bit. He left Madrid to go to City when he could have come here and now he hs thrown a hissy fit because Kaka isn't coming. doesn't sound like the sort of player that we need in an already unsettled dressing room.

They knew his reputation, look at his behaviour when he was at one of, if not the, biggest clubs in the world. Man City, regardless of money, are small fry. That said, I can see Hughes going before Robinho.

True True

Didn't he have a public go at them already before Christmas, about not having ambition or did I imagine that ?

They just need to have a reality check as far as I am concerned, relegation should do it.

Not sure how much of that is true though.

A widely reported version of events was that Real did not want to to sell him to us, and did everything in their power to make sure it didn't happen. When the bid from Manchester came in they told him he either goes to City or stays and rots in Madrid.

Well that's a very easy answer and that answer is certainly NOT Malouda!

But I just never feel very easy when such huge sums are spent on players - it's all set up for both us and the player to fall flat on our faces. Sheva, SWP, Veron etc.

Okay, Robinho may be a class apart and he could well be a success, but no matter how good he might turn out to be, I'd always have that opinion that "well he shoulkd be good for what we had to pay for him".

can i just point out something. robinho signs for city and all is well. kaka is linked with city and everything looks wonderful for the city faithful. bellamy signs, kaka says bollocks to that and robinho legs it. co-incidence? i think not. looks like the midget welshman with small persons syndrome has scared of citys brazilian boys.

Apparently a Brazilian player currently at City told Kaka 'Not to bother' signing for them :D

The whole Kaka thing was a joke to my mind as pointed out above one player will not win you anything .

2 games in and carjacker at scumpool breaks Kaka's leg ...................

The Drogba and Alex swap for Robinho seems to be gathering pace and I have to say it looks like a very good option to me . Would give Mancinne a chance at the back

The last 2 days have been a PR disaster for City, and I dont think anyone saw all this coming. Missing out on Kaka was one thing, I dont really think Milan were playing straight with them anyway. I dont know if Bellamy scared him off, but certainly Robinho's timing is conspicuous

The going is already tough at Eastlands, but it doesnt bear thinking about how he might have reacted to the apparent turmoil we are supposedly in. On the field, though, I can only dream about his impact

Apparently a Brazilian player currently at City told Kaka 'Not to bother' signing for them <_<

Elano and Jo certainly would have something to tell him if he went asking for advice. Wastes of talent and money on the part of City, and now seem to be totally iced out of the team.
