Guus Hiddink has announced that Paulo Ferreira injured an anterior cruciate ligament yesterday (Thursday) and is out for the season.

Ashley Cole will be in the squad for the Coventry game, as will Michael Essien and Ricardo Carvalho who made returns from injury in the reserves on Monday.

Ferreira is the third Chelsea player to suffer such a knee injury this season, following on from Essien and Joe Cole.

I don't think he will, in Chelsea shirt, that is. Paulo made one start all season and it was due to Ashley being suspended and Bridge being sold. He is a good lad and did well in his first couple of seasons with us but I don't see him having any future at the club.
