though id start a thread of about any gigs people have been to or are going to.

i was in glasgow on sunday to see the doves who were fantastic. was in abc which is a nice little venue, fairly small with good sound. randomly we were in the same hotel as "the Enemy" who were alos on in glasgow, and they are tiny. i thought they were some kind of freak show, watching on of them strut through the bar looking like a mini paul weller was hillarious, me and my mate gave him dogs abuse and almost got bundled by one of his bouncers. good days...

I've been trying to get tickets to see Metallica one day but always fail.

I have however been to 2 concerts in my life. Cher and Tina Turner.

Cher was okay but she kept changing clothes (well, I guess you can call it clothes even though it hardly covered any part of her body, left me scarred for life) ever few songs or so. If she sang 20 songs then she appeared in atleast 9-10 different dresses. Quite annoying actually. But she did give everyone a real show so it was an enjoyable event.

Tina Turner on the other hand was far better. She was great. It's really amazing just how much energy she has on stage. I bet I was more tired than her after the concert. She really gave it all and I wouldn't mind seing her again. She is coming to Sweden but the tickets are too expensive. The worst seats at Tina Turner costs about as much as the best seats for Metallica. It's really ridiculous. I would really have liked to see her again since I guess this really will be the final time she comes here.

Anyway, I've seen her once and it was great. When she sang "Simply The Best" I got goosebumps all over my body and I even shed quite a few tears. Simply amazing.

That was simply the best :P

Oh dear, Sexelk, what are we going to do with you! I see "Michael macIntyre is hilarious" and I think "Yes, Sexelk DOES have good taste!"

Then I read "The legend that is Lionel Ritchie" and I don;t know whether to laugh or cry!

its gig time of the year for me....

Ive got two gigs for reformed The Specials, in Brum and Coventry. Two more Mozzer gigs (my 15th & 16th in total) in Brum and The Albert Hall.

Ive got two hospitality comps to see Oasis/The Enemy at Coventrys Richo Arena down the road but best of all is Depeche Mode at Londons O2. New album out next month and from what ive heard so far , its going to be a cracker, as always.

What a feeling? That's from Flashdance - WOE does that have to do with Lionel Ritchie?

(and before anyone asks WOE is the polite version of WTF)

Oh dear, I'm sorry, Sexelk. I'm just taking the piss. I wouldn't seriously consider I had the right to criticise anyone else's taste in music.

I had forgotten about Dancing on the Ceiling, though. I am not a Lionel Ritchie fan myself. Once , Twice, Three Times a Lady? makes me reach for the sick bucket. But to each his own. I'll stick with Bruce Springsteen!

I did like Bonnie Tyler though - do we have that in common?

no I didn't mean it like that. by all means criticise. i'm pretty outspoken on my own opinions and i give plenty of abuse and i can take it as well

i meant I wasn't sure you were taking the piss about the dancing on the ceiling and flashdance thing.

even now i'm not sure if that's a wee dig lol :o

three times a lady is about his mum. a bit sappy maybe but it's a great song

and i'm not the biggest bonnie tyler fan in the world. sorry it seems nothing in common (i say sorry but i dare say you're feeling relieved)

Hopefully it's better than Playing the Angel. That was a bit of a disappointment...I think it's the worst they've done. Violator is still my favorite, but I don't expect the new one to be as good as that.

Agree about Violator, but i thought PTA was great. In my DM top 5 for sure. if we are talking worst DM albums its very hard to look past Exciter.

I think it's pretty even with PTA and Exciter for me. Ultra was still a pretty decent album, but the last two have been quite poor.

My first ever concert I went on without my parents was a year ago when I saw Sum 41 in Cardiff and it was great!!

I've saw Lee Evans in Cardiff last September and that was brilliant!

Then The Gaslight Anthem in Bristol in February and I loved every minute!!

Then this September I'm going to see Michael McIntyre!!

And then in October I'm going to see Frank Turner in Cardiff, who was actually a support act for Gaslight and I haven't stopped listening to him since!!

Then there are a few gigs in between I'd like to go to, like Russel Howard in June, but it might clash with my exams, sadly. :o

But I do love a good gig!

They had to cancel their gig at my local club because their touring van got burglared in Sweden and they couldn't get to Helsinki in time for the gig. They'll be back to play a gig in June, though.

When was this? 'Cause I think Fallon (lead singer) mentioned something about their van being burgaled?

Clinic at the Irving Plaze, NYC. Like walking into a local town hall and finding yourself a spot to stand...for me, right at the front.

Madison Square Garden. The Who supported by Robert plant....amazing

Carling Academy. James Brown, right before he died, and it was dancing from stage to back door.

been to tons of gigs, and this summer I might head to a natural ampitheatre called The Gorge, in Washington State, and see the Alman Borthers, The Doobie Brothers and The Greatful Dead perform together.

Just seen Wilco supported by the Fleet Foxees, amazing gig
