April 19, 200916 yr Sounds good to me. Deco would do great in Italy. His pace isn't what it used to be although it was never his main asset. His skill hasn't gone anywhere. On his day one of the best and inventive midfielders still in the game. Chelsea just isn't a team for him and PL probably not the league. Quaresma is still a big question mark but he is 'only' 26 so we would be getting a player close to his prime age. He has lot of skill but apparently lacks of discipline on and off pitch. With Hiddink in reigns these troubemakers can turn into worldbeaters. Same as with Jose. Shame that Guus is leaving us.
April 19, 200916 yr So we would let Deco join Inter permanently and we get Quaresma on loan to try and rebuild his career before returning to Italy. No thanks. I have no interest in loan deals for anything more than a stop gap to fill a gap which may appear in the squad come January. I see little value to us in taking him on loan for an entire season. We should be looking to bring in/through players with a long term future.
April 19, 200916 yr JM soon saw the light with Queresma and it appears that with Guus too. I see no reason to prolong his stay beyond the end of the season. In Guus we Trust !! Edited April 19, 200916 yr by charierre
April 19, 200916 yr Author Sorry, I didn't actually read the article... Would we only get Quaresma on a loan deal?
April 19, 200916 yr Seem's a bit wierd if we got rid of Deco for no money at all and just got Quaresma for a season. I'd be all for a straight swap, but we can still get a bit of money for Deco.
April 20, 200916 yr i cant see them swaping a player they have just paid £20m for with an older player we have just given £8m for.....there not us! If its just a season swap involving the 2 then fine by me. Deco does'nt get into our midfield and Queresma offers quality on the wing which we are still lacking so why not.
April 20, 200916 yr Agreed with the above... I'd take a straight swap, no questions, but they get Deco permanently and we only get Quaresma on loan? I'm not sure about that.

Saying that Juventus at one point were going to offer us £6m for Deco as they know he doesnt really fit to us I would definitely take a swap, but not giving deco for a loan deal with quaresma
