Sorry if this has already been posted.

I thought it was eye-opening!

Maxi Rodriguez (Atletico Madrid, 28)

David James (Portsmouth, 39)

Christoph Metzelder (Real Madrid, 29)

Juliano Belletti (Chelsea, 33)

Philippe Senderos (Arsenal, 24)

Fabio Aurelio (Liverpool, 30)

Martin Petrov (Manchester City, 30)

Michael Ballack (Chelsea, 33)

Joe Cole (Chelsea, 28)

Adam Johnson (Middlesbrough, 23)

Marouane Chamakh (Bordeaux, 25)

Ruud van Nistelrooy (Real Madrid, 33)

Joe Ledley (Cardiff, 22)

Tomas Rosicky (Arsenal, 29)

Jermaine Beckford (Leeds, 26)

Morten Gamst Pedersen (Blackburn, 28)

Paul Scharner (Wigan, 29)

Louis Saha (Everton, 31)

Adriano (Flamengo, 27)

An interesting list, but I'm not sure if any of those will make us a better team. There are rumours saying we are going to give Ballack a two-years extencion. I don't think we should do that. He is currently in pretty bad shape, slow, ageing and also his wages. Let him go and get som young blood at the midfield like Hamsik/Pjanic/Dzagoev. Belletti can leave also. If the appeal goes through of course.

This Adam Johnson boy. Is he good?

I think if Adam Johnson is still off contract when English teams are allowed to approach we should go for him....mainly because it wouldn't be too much of a risk.

We could also go for Chamakh now, like approach to sign him, and have him comee over in the summer for free....just to get under the skin of other teams. He's also proven he can score some goals.

i absolutely agree with you - Ballsack is far too lazy and slow for our team and continuously loses possession, in addition to this, he earns something like 120K week! it would make far more sense to f@ck him off at the end of the season (along with Balletti and a few more) and use their wages to fund some world class signing... but i have a nasty feeling the club will decide to extend Ballsack's contract

If he was ever fit* I would take Rosicky on this team. He was one of my favorite players based on his Euro 2004 (mostly down to his hairstyles) and I really thought he was coking here in the following summer. Thank god for that, eh? But at his best, he is a great spark type player.

Petrov is another one I would take, based on the fact that he has been stellar for City. Not gonna happen, but it wasnt long ago I was scoffing at the idea of signing Anelka from Bolton.

The interesting scenario will be over "our" guys. Joe is an obvious keeper, Ballack probably for a reduced role, but I could see Belletti being wished well and let go.

*yeah, I know

I believe it was "in the works" based on the last quotes I remember, but I dont think anything has been signed

Hope so .....if not he will be a Rottenham player next year with his mate Harry

I really rate Adam Johnson, but I thought he was more of a winger than a Lamps player, but I could be wrong.

And Chamakh is the other player I'd like to go for, he's been excellent for Bordeaux in the Champions League this year.

I hear Liverpool are interested in Maxi Rodriguez. They are also said to be considering Scott Parker, but with the apparent state of their finances, it's doubtful whether they could afford either player.

Maxi Rodriguez would be a great signing for free. Hope he wont sign for Liverpool.

I really dont think Adriano would want to go back to Europe, but he found his form back in Brazil and I still rate him. Problem is just his head.

Apparently there are four highly regarded youngsters at Barcelona whos contracts will be up in june.

Thiago

Gai Assulin

Jonathan dos Santos

Victor Vazquez

I doubt any of them will leave, but you never know. If we get Jonathan then I really hope he'll do better than his brother Giovani who went from playing for Barcelona to barely getting a chance at Tottenham. He's now on loan at Ipswich so he's moving up anyway :)

I've heard a bit about Assulin and Thiago...don't know anything about the other two lads though.

I want to sign Jovetic from Fiorentina. He looks a top player and he tore Liverpool to shreds in the CL.

Edited by data

I had no idea Petrov was 30 and Beckford was 26. The way everyone was carrying about after he scored against Man U this weekend, I thought JB was some up and coming English teen, not 26...

Adam Johnson is the only name of interest to me on that list.

According to the Mirror Maxi Rodriguez to Liverpool is a done deal:

Atletico Madrid star agrees Liverpool move

Maxi Rodriguez will join Liverpool tomorrow on a permanent contract after being persuaded to move to Merseyside by Javier Mascherano.

The Argentina international was considering a short-term loan offer from the Anfield club, and reasoned that he should speak with his fellow countryman before committing.

But so impressed was Rodriguez by what the Liverpool midfielder had to say, he has decided to commit to an 18-month contract.

Liverpool will pay a fee of around £1.5million for the winger, who would have been a free agent at the end of the season when his contract expires.

But after looking far and wide for a striker in the transfer window, manager Rafa Benitez has decided that he will not do any more spending in January, because of the lack of suitable quality talent available.

Instead, the Reds boss will concentrate on bringing in a defender to cover at right-back, probably on loan, and save any money he recoups from the sale to Ryan Babel - who is the subject of a £9million bid from Birmingham - to spend in the summer when his top targets become available.

1.5 million for a player who will be free in 6 months. Gotta love Liverpool
