I just wanna praise Nico Anelka for what he has done in Chelsea. Not being bias but he has done more with us at any club....Scoring in CL and winning Premier League Golden Boot and many other awards which he deserves to win. I even think he should and will be winning more! He has giving us 100% and playing in positions which are not his best but he got on with it and done very well. I feel like Chelsa owe Anelka for some reason lol. He has been phenomenal! I hope he stays with us for many years to come as he said himself, Chelsea gave him a home and I bet all the other teams that let him go must be gutted! 2 years of great service from Anelka. WELL DONE NICO ::clap2::

Ditto. He has done very well. Hopefully he can keep his good form up for the rest of the season.

Underrated and a great player to boot. He seems to enjoy it here.

i think thats the main thing with Nico, he`s happy and settled and playing some of he best football of his career. cant be a co-incidence can it. i love watching him play, he seems to glide past people with such ease at times, almost as though its just too easy for him. magnificent player, and i know it sounds odd but i honestly believe we play better football with him in the middle of a front 3 than we do when Drogba plays there, and i mean better football not necessarily more effective football.

All hail Anelka!

he is one of my favourite players.

he just gets on with the job he doesn't do non-sence.

he is just amazing not just because his skills and amazing goals but also for his royalty to the club.

btw i am new here.

My skepticism about the signing lasted until he started tearing it up last season....but then this season he's reached new heights. Isn't relying in simply scoring anymore, but rather creating and stretching defences through the wings as well. Absolute legend.

Agree with that. I was very skeptical because of his reputation when we bought him and I didnt think he would last long after Moscow. But boy am I glad I was dead wrong.

He has been excellent. 27 league goals, 37 in total according to wiki, and thats to say nothing of all that he has created. If he really is happy here and feels like he is 'home' I would love to keep him for as long as he wants to stay. Seems like a genuinely nice guy too (loved the pantomiming at the end of the video....you could tell he couldnt really take himself seriously)

Anelka's confidence was undermined by Avram Grant who told him he was not good enough to play for Chelsea. Ancelotti is to be complemented for restoring his confidence and getting the best out of him. Many of the skeptics now realise Anelka is a world class striker and we're damn lucky to have him and Ancelotti.

Anelka, has been great, his movement lets others find space on the pitch. He knows where the goals are, brilliant.I agree idont think i have seen a more content Anelka or a more deadllier one.I said on the forum before at this time i cant think of a better strike duo in europe than him and Drogba :JC_doubleup:

I think everyone has known he is a class act, he just never felt right at any of his previous clubs, I think too much was expected of him, once that died down he went to Bolton and the weight was off his shoulders. He played f'ing wel at Bolton because of this, thank God it carried on. I think it was all the expectations put on him from a a young age, he does not have to worry about that anymore....he can just play.

Class act 100% of the way, Drogba could learn a thing or two from him....like urmmmmstaying on your feet !

Avram brought him to Chelsea but he didnt play him a whole lot. I believe he was mainly used as a sub (kinda like Tevez with Man U) and when he did start it was usually out on the wings and thus out of position. Amazingly enough, just like Tevez, once he got regular playing time, in or out of his position, he has really shown world class form.

Fair point.

Are you suggesting then that the 4-4-2 diamond suits him better than the 4-3-3?

Playing with Drogba suits him because then he can play in the withdrawn forward role which is his preferred position. He has said more than once that he does not prefer to play lone striker hence 4-3-3 doesnt suit him.

He is so good and I knew the form he's in now was coming even after the first six months. What a shame that we didn't get him much sooner but oh well life works out like that sometimes. Just glad he's here now and is in the form of his life with Chelsea, hopefully one day when he's an old man he'll look back on his time with Chelsea as the best period of his career. He deserves credit for going to Bolton and starting all over again, many footballers would have disappeared off the face of the earth after all the bad transfers etc but he didn't.

He is extremely talented, perhaps our most complete player in a sense because he can score goals, create goals, make others around him play better etc. Chelsea legend imo (one of our best strikers ever) and hope he and the team win a major trophy this year because they deserve it and none more so than Nico!

Legend. :P

I think if he is played middle in a 433 its probably better for him, however since thats where Drogba would be when both are fit, IM sure the 4-4-2 system suits him better than playing on the wings ni the 433.

I stated this in another post, but I truely feel Anelka would be great at the tip of the diamond. He has all the attributes necessary. He is fast on and off the ball, can dribble at defenders, he has great vision and passing abilities, he makes great runs and he can also launch them from outside the box (He was denied on a 25-30 yrd rocket vs Sunderland....coal tender just got a tiny piece and it still hit the post and crossbar!) and he can also control the ball allowing the support to catch up.

If one of the youth stikers can prove they deserve a chance to play up with Drogs, I would love to see Carlo try out Anelka on the tip of the diamond...He might not score as many goals, but I think he would create a ton as well as claim some for himself.
