I don't. Imagine you're new to the sport and you've just watched the two clinics put on by Dortmund and Munich this week. If you were to then compare those games to the rubbish football routinely served up by Chelsea you would no doubt be asking the same questions.

Torres signed a five and a half year contract. So not far off. We're stuck with that contract unless another club is feeling very generous. I won't hold my breath. The mere fact that you're suggesting destinations like China and America for a 28 year old says it all. That is about his level but he wouldn't go there. The Russians are signing young players close to or at their peak like the Witsel's and Hulk's of this world. They're not interested in close to 30 has-beens like Torres.

Terrible player. It's like playing with 10 men at times. Why would Atletico take less money than Falcao is worth + a poor player with massive wages? It makes no sense. Falcao is one of the very best players in world football. Why would you not get every penny you can? Why would Atletico ever entertain the idea of taking a player as bad as Torres as part-exchange? No team in world football will go near Torres unless Chelsea are subsidising his wages. And not just some, all of it. He reportedly earns in the region of 170k p/w. He's Shevchenko mk II but on more money and a longer contract. We're stuck with him and his wages for the next four years.

If Torres had put in the performance that Sturridge did on Wednesday night he would be praised for weeks months. There would be a lot of the "Torres is back!" nonsense that is spouted every time he doesn't miss a sitter and/or trip over his own feet. He is an extremely limited footballer whether you want to accept that or not. For a club with Chelsea's aspirations he shouldn't be anywhere near the first 11. He wouldn't make Utd's or City's bench let alone play games for them.

Sturridge has to start.

If you're going to go down that road then Terry should leave too. There's only one reason why Torres should leave and that's because he's a very poor player.

It was like playing with 10 men last night. He is slow, weak, clumsy, ponderous and lacks any real ability. He has an awful first touch, he traps the ball further than most people can kick it. He has been finished as a top level player for years so this is nothing new. However I don't blame Torres. He's just not good enough and we have known this since he arrived. He has been a colossal failure and I blame the club for persisting with him. They have left the team with no alternative because Di Matteo clearly doesn't fancy Sturridge. God knows why because he is a better option than Torres.

Oscar was very, very good. For a 21 year old player to be that tactically aware of his role and what is required of him is amazing. He nullified Pirlo and did the same again to Arteta. He didn't let them get their head up and dictate play as they do for their teams and was always an outlet when we were in possession. Oscar hasn't even been here for two months and he's already performing. Mata and Hazard have spent their entire careers in Europe and know how to play at this level. South American football is very different to the European game. I really think once Oscar settles down he will be an even better player than Mata and Hazard which says a lot. This was a very impressive performance by the team and RDM deserves a lot of credit. We really need to do better on the counter-attacks as we had plenty of chances to score on the break. Players need to make better runs on the counter and I hope they work on that.

Complimentary, in my opinion because I don't think they're too similar. Yes they all have great technique but there are clear differences in each of their games. Mata is a pure #10, his best work comes in the final third and he has the best final ball of the three. Oscar is a well-rounded midfielder who is able to drop back and link midfield to attack. He also has good defensive qualities that seem to have gone unnoticed by most. Hazard is the dribbler and is able to play with his back to goal which is a great quality. He can hold the ball up in tight spaces and brings others into play. They can play together but it will take a lot of rehearsed practise on the training field. It's not as simple as having three good players and telling them to get on with it. My biggest concern is that we don't work hard enough in training developing patterns of play and team-shape. The issue with width is a concern but only because, in my opinion, the fullbacks aren't making the right runs at the right time. The space is there to exploit so you hope the fullbacks become more adept at timing their runs and being an option at the right time as opposed to getting forward asap and congesting play even further.

This is going to be a tough game and a good one for the neutral I think. I would hate to see Robbie go overly defensive but I have my suspicions that he will unfortunately. I think a midfield two of Mikel and Lampard in midfield would get exposed for their lack of legs in the middle so Ramires central is essential in this game. Oscar doesn't get enough credit for his defensive work. The boy can press and make himself a nuisance as well as anybody plus he has the ability going forward. If I had my way I'd go 4-3-3 here: Cech Ivanovic Luiz Terry Cole Ramires Mikel Oscar Mata Sturridge Hazard Moses could be an option for this game. I watched the Arsenal vs Wigan game last season and he caused them all sorts of problems. I would trust him to have the beating of Gibbs or Jenkinson all day long. Depending on how he gets on against Wolves midweek he could be a real option. But the thing is who do you drop? I can't see Mata or Hazard not starting. Oscar, I feel deserves to after two strong performances, but it will most certainly be Lampard. I'd hate to see Betrand and Ramires playing wide and I am afriad that's what Robbie may do.

I don't know who you've been watching but it definitely isn't Mikel. He has a tremendous first touch and close control. Mikel never in control of the ball? Dear oh dear. I understand people don't like certain players but to completely make something up is something else. If you really want to talk about players never in control of the ball let's talk about Torres. He couldn't trap a bag of cement. Have you seen his firs touch? It's an absolute disaster. The club paid 50m for this joke of a player and people want to label Mikel our worst signing ever!

Mikel? Our worst signing? Not even close. Mikel is a quality player. Our worst signing is Torres by a million miles. What on earth was the thread starer thinking? Mikel a worse signing than Torres? Torres is the worst signing in the history of the game as far as I'm concerned. 50m for a striker who struggles to control the ball let alone shoot on target from 5 yards out and you think Mikel is our worst signing? Am I reading this right? You couldn't make this up.

Truth be told we're one very boring team to watch. All backwards and sideways, one-paced, very little flair or imagination, Cech hoofing it long every 2-3 minutes. We struggle to make clear cut chances against some of the worst teams in the league. Some of the players just make you feel depressed watching them play. Watching a 50m player struggle to control the footbal is enough to make you hate the game. We are just as bad as we were last season. Nothing has changed. The manager talks a lot and seems to have the right ideas but has implemented nothing. I've just read that he was pleased with the performance at Norwich and felt we just lacked a little luck. You couldn't make it up really. Bloody football eh?

Drogba is a world class striker and takes penalties for his country. Is Lampard the only player in the world who can take penalties? Have I missed something here? I found it disgraceful that he came on against City and demanded the ball off Mata who was assigned to take penalties that night. Are you having a go at Lampard for taking the ball off Mata that night or are you just saving your critcism for Drogba?

Er, you've got that sitaution wrong. It was agreed before the game that Drogba would take any penalty awarded because he was in the race for the golden boot. But when there was a penalty to take Lampard went back on his word and took it. Drogba was understandbly pissed off.

Of the current squad I would say the legends are Cech and Drogba. They are the two players who in my opinion do their absolute best for Chelsea FC and do not put their own interests above those of the club. They are heroes and deserve the upmost respect.

My post was mainly in response to comments like these: He isn't ready for first team yet and won't be for a while. But by all means praise our young players. We have a fantastic bunch and hopefully a few will progress into the senior team over the coming years.

Do any of you actually watch the youth/resevres play? Piazon is nowhere close to being ready for first team action. As talented as he is he is no Messi or Rooney. Let him learn and develop his game. If Piazon does well he could be ready for the first team in 4 years. Another year or two with the reserves and a smart loan will do him the world of good. By the way he isn't even the most impressive youngster at the club in my opinion. He is the glamorous Brazilian kid so people are going a bit over the top. The likes of Chalobah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Feruz and Affane have more potential in my opinion but then again I'm not a scout so don't take my word for it.

If some supporters are allowed to denigrate a player like Drogba, who has done great things for this football club, then I should be allowed to do the same with Lampard no? Why is Lampard above the harsh critcism that players like Drogba routinely get? Nobody wants to answer this question for some reason.
