really happy with the draw tday,

althought we got different views on-it,

-cardiff: nice bit of money, good weekend, piss up (knocked out, focus on league)

-chelsea: preety certain of a win withouth playing best team, to progress with the cup easily.

although it never as easy as that, on a good day the cardiff support can make any ground seem like the home ground. also we always play better Against better teams, most of our players have flirted with the prem league and play that style of football. ramsey style at arsenal prime example (also lost to bottom 4 teams this season and beat 2-5 place teams this season - newcastle is next week.

1 more thing, cardiff still kept there "soul crew" reputation and were many of the old firms died out during the 9ties and noughties, cardiff kept strong numbers in the firm with new blood. i no chelsea and cardiff had a lot of history and may i give u praise, your the only team to stand your ground and fight city fans away in cardiff, "ever" according to dads stories thats above millwall and leeds, however that 1 victory was over shadowed by many other occasions were the opposite happeded.

please note i was not included and not encouraging "above" actions, but say because i wonder what are chelsea like these days has the family man-fan taking over or is there still a large congragation that will cause trouble up there ? ( is a bubble trip out of the question - as were forced into loads of them cause our nutters)

I am not going to talk about the Soul Crew or the decline of hooliganism in the premiership, but I will say I'm not overly comfortable about this tie.

The beuty about the FA Cup is moments such as these. Two teams that have had a bit of a rivalry in the past, are suddenly forced together again after the passing of some time. Your Crew are obviously well known, and I do believe they will be very vocal at the bridge (it's always the away support that is better, just look at Chelsea v PNE yesterday, Chelsea totally outsang the PNE mob!)

As you say, a few of your team members have some premiership experience, so I hope Chelsea don't take it too lightly. I think Carlo will want to proress in impressive fashion, and try retain the cup, so I feel if there are any changes to our line up it will be for peripheral players and not youuth team products.

Bumped into quite a few of your soul crew boys when we were down for one of the cup finals in Cardiff. They were actually really welcoming. Mind you the fact we were playing the scousers may have had something to do with it.

Personally looking forward to it . Given you will no doubt sell out your allocation and a lot of our prawn sarnie mob probably won’t go should make for a cracking atmosphere with a lot of old boys turning up for this one . We got 5,800... on sale via t'interweb only over the weekend, then to perosnal callers and telephones on monday. Going like hot cakes (should that be chelsea buns?), i suspect they will sell out as quick as broadband connections and phone lines will allow.

I dont know how your club works, but my guess is that we could sell our allocation twice over, many fans will be disapointed .... and there would be many city fans that would not think twice about getting tickets for the home end if they went on general sale.

Tickets had been on sale online from 4pm Friday, The ticket office opened early at 8.30am on Monday to deal with fans who had been waiting overnight, and tickets were sold out by 9.20am. All tickets went to Ambassadors.

Memories of Cardiff? Good and bad. Got talking to a doorman at one of the pubs there at one of the cup finals and he was a old member of their mob. Was very complimentary about us. There was a major 'off' in their main stand in 81/82, a mob of cardiff got cornered by a load of our lot. Underestimated how many we had in the stand when they appeared near the away end. There were Chelsea charging over the seats as well as climbing up from the paddock in front. Plod eventually came in, took them out and led them round the side of the pitch and put 'em in the big side terrace through a gate down in the far corner. Their last visit (83/84?) left a bit of a bad taste, booing the minutes silence for the Chelsea fan who'd been killed up in Huddersfield the previous week. The late comeback in the 3-3 draw there comes to mind too. All in the past now of course and really looking forward to this one, Should be a cracking atmosphere.

It was probably the biggest single row I've ever seen at a match. After the game on the big sports field adjacent to the main stand and all the way back to the station. I'm guessing this is the day that the old heads at Cardiff are referring to and it was not long after both Spurs and Millwall had come a cropper there. Of course revisionist history by the likes of Cass et al will tell you that Chelsea never really had any sort of presence in that particular scene, but those of us who were around at the time know.

This is not intended as a dig... honestly.... i remember those days clearly and do remember Chelsea having quite a formidable firm. These days though you dont associate Chelsea with that sort of thing, perhaps it is just the media sanitised image of the premiership. Cardiff fans only have to break wind and it is all over the press, but i suspect there may be a lot going on around 'the big four' that is swept under the carpet.
