Has anyone seen or heard anything about the return of Bosingwa?

found this online, but, it is pretty vague to when we can expect to see a return.

I heard that he was fit enough to be on the bench for our game against ManU, but I don't think were. I also think Carlo has said that he's back soon (think he mentioned the game this weekend), so we'll see. Strange though to have no news about his return.

He has been out for nearly a year now, and questions have got to be asked about whether he'll ever be the same again.

I really hope he gets back into top gear, he really adds a little extra class on the ball that Ivan still doesn't quite have, despite his improvement last season.

With the lack of news, I am also wondering whether there are complications that could hinder a full recovery.

I also think that his spot is not guaranteed before Ivan when he does come back.

should be back by the end of the month, but he will find it hard to get in ahead of ivan, that is presuming carlo has realised never to play paulo again unless he really has to (or just in the carling cup)...he was appallling yesterday

I hope he comes back soon, but I also think he should be made to play his way back onto the team. Right now Ivanovic is way ahead of him in the pecking order for our RB's

Wonderful news. I had a bad feeling he would be like Essien last season - always being a month away from returning.

How long has be been out? Feels like it's been almost a year, but surely it hasn't been that long?

Will be interesting to see if he can return to his old self.

I think its been about 10 months.

It would be lovely to have him instead of ferreira during games like today's.

I believe his last game for us was away against Aston Villa, Oct 17th last year.

Fingers crossed for a good game in the reserves this week.

I hope that he will be fit to play in the first squad soon! :D Bossy, we're waiting for you! ::ChELSeAFaN::

I don't think it can come quick enough, considering the games we have coming up!

I know, we're playing against City and Arsenal. He won't play against them, but I'd like to see him in the first squad after those games if he will be fit of course. ;)

I agree, I think full fitness by mid December would be a bonus with the fixtures we have within three weeks of each other.

Bosingwa Hits The Comeback Trail

Jose Bosingwa completed 55 minutes of a reserve team friendly on his comeback from injury on Wednesday.

The right-back had not featured in a competitive game since damaging his knee away at Aston Villa in October last year, but came through this first test unscathed and showed flashes of his attacking energy and precise crossing.

The young Chelsea side eventually lost 2-0 at Cobham to visitors Fulham, who included forward Diomansy Kamara in their line-up.

Bosingwa was quickly into the action, crossing for Adam Phillip to head goalwards within five minutes, the forward's looping header not quite strong enough to trouble the goalkeeper.

Jacopo Sala saw his 25-yard effort deflected and turned around the post by the Fulham keeper, and Bosingwa's cross was sent behind his goal by a nervy looking defender.

Nathaniel Chalobah was substituted after 25 minutes and replaced by Milan Lalkovic as Daniel Philliskirk dropped into holding midfield.

Almost immediately Fulham took the lead with a close-range finish, doubling the lead with a superb long-range effort 10 minutes later.

Phillip and Tore each had good chances before half-time, the centre-forward twice denied by some excellent saves, the second at point-blank range after Kaby's low drive had fallen free inside the area.

Bosingwa was withdrawn 10 minutes into the second half and replaced by Ben Sampayo, having turned in a solid display.

Sala had two more powerful efforts stopped in quick succession before our best passing move involving five players down the left saw Lalkovic burst through, his cross-shot eventually palmed behind for a corner.

The Slovakian then created a chance for himself, combining dogged tenacity with excellent footwork, he won possession and beat his man, but could not find a way past the goalkeeper.

Chelsea team: Sam Walker; Jose Bosingwa (sub Ben Sampayo 55), Daniel Pappoe, Rohan Ince, Aziz Deen-Conteh (sub George Saville 67); Jacopo Sala, Nathaniel Chalobah (sub Milan Lalkovic 25), Aliu 'Kaby' Djalo; Daniel Philliskirk (sub Anton Rodgers 67), Adam Phillip (sub Michael Woods h-t), Gokhan Tore.

Latest news is that Bosingwa is due to (hopefully) play the full 90 for the reserves against Liverpool on Monday 27/09/2010 in a game that will be shown live on Chelsea TV.

He's playing for the reserves at the moment and is looking lively, been up and down the right touch line constantly in the first 20 mins.
