June 4, 201115 yr It would take anything from £90m to £130m for those 3. The only way I can see it happening is if they are selling a couple of players also. Though they will have made a hell of a lot of money from the CL final win I suppose. Thats true about CL, but where will all 3 fit into their team, I think theylll get Rossi not sure about the other 2, I read in the Sun today that Arsene wants 54million for Cesc, I cant see Barca being willing to pay that much, even though they spent 70mill in Ibrahomic. Rossi will cost 40 and sanchez aswell. Just dont see them getting all of them, and tbh if I was Barca I would look at a defender. But they have actually a really small squad, but would them 3 of them players be happy with squad roles, I know cesc is great aswell, but why replace their midfield. Xavi although getting on has probably 3 years left in him so it will be interesting what happens
June 4, 201115 yr I seem to remember their gaffer saying last year he wasnt happy with the size of squad they had, maybe this is their way of keeping him happy. Theres also a possibility they are buying now to avoid the Fair financial thingy. Get em now while your able sort of thing.

June 4, 201115 yr So the rumours are Barcelona have agreed contracts with Fabregas, Rossi and Sanchez. Dear god thats some side they are gonna have. And don't forget the strong rumours that they're going for Aguero as well.
June 4, 201115 yr yep all true points, but all 3 are stars and cant see em happy on the bench or playing 1 in 3-4 games Hopefully it will cause them problems. Or maybe we can put in a sneaky bid for Messi and Iniesta....... :D
June 4, 201115 yr DWK, I thought Sanchez would cost 35-40mill looks like barca could get him in 23mill in the other thread, that could mean they get the 3 players mentioned above. f**king hell
June 4, 201115 yr DWK, I thought Sanchez would cost 35-40mill looks like barca could get him in 23mill in the other thread, that could mean they get the 3 players mentioned above. f**king hell Bloody hell thats cheap. Is his contract nearly up or something?
June 4, 201115 yr Havew no idea, Chelsea are foolish if we arent going to put in a bid for him at that price. It seems he is more about club than moeny if he has rejected city. theres a sky report on it. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_6965793,00.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter you have probably seen this still.
June 4, 201115 yr Barca wont get Aguero. In Argentina Messi and Aguero don't really gel, they're very similar players in the sense of the space they like to use and the runs they like to make. Aguero like Messi drops into the midfield quite often and likes to drift from left to right depending on how he feels. If they got him it'd have to be one or the other on at a time to use them effectively. Messi will never be dropped if fit, and he likes to play even the most meaningless games. If he was in our squad he'd want to play against Ipswitch in the FA Cup. Sanchez doesn't fit their MO either but I don't really know anything about their plans. He likes to make lightening runs with lots of tricks but gives the ball away a lot. I'd have thought losing the ball would be a capital offence in the Barca team. Training that out of him removes the whole point of what he does.
June 4, 201115 yr Off topic but just read somehwhere that Simon Kjaer has been voted one of the worst defenders in the Bundesliga this year. Bullet dodged.
June 4, 201115 yr Heres a thought i had, are we selling all these players to HSV and Arnesen for a reason? Are we getting first shout at some of their players maybe? Can any of our fans with knowledge of their squad tell us of any players we could sign.

June 5, 201115 yr Elia does play for them, he's looked good for the Dutch before, lots of pace. Read somewhere that he had a pretty bad season, was in the Worst Bundesliga XI for the season or something. Marko Marin who also seems to have a lot of hype around him is another who had an average season apparently. Edited June 5, 201115 yr by footballoholic

June 5, 201115 yr Hi all only just joined the forum! Hoping for some really good players that we need this summer so we can dominate domestically & at least challenge Barcelona in Europe. Here is my dream Transfer summer: OUT: ANELKA, KALOU, ZHIRKOV, MALOUDA, BOSINGWA, HILARIO+TURNBULL, OBI-MIKEL, FERRERA IN: BALE, MODRIC, VAN DER WIEL, BEGOVIC, NEYMAR Bale & Modric provide exactly what we need pace and creativity. I really like Bale, can you imagine the chances he would provide Torres? I also would like to see Luiz played as a defensive midfielder, in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Like this; -----------------------------------CECH------------------------- -----VAN DER WIEL-------IVANOVIC-------TERRY-------COLE------ -------------------MODRIC-----------------LUIZ------------------ -------NEYMAR-----------------LAMPARD---------------BALE----- --------------------------------TORRES-------------------------- Personally manager wise I would love us to get Louis Van Gaal. What do y'all think about this?????

I hope to God it's not Hughes. He's never managed in the Champions League and despite spending £200m at Man City couldn't get them higher than 8th. It makes no sense for a club like ours to hire someone so unproven as him. What do y'all think about this????? Welcome to the forums. I don't think Kalou, Mikel, Paulo and even Malouda need to go. The only thing you could argue about Paulo is he's not getting any younger, but talent-wise he's still a great squad player. Kalou is young and he's delivered most of the time, not to mention he has the best goal tally for a third string striker. Don't know why you think we should sell Mikel, he's only getting better after every season, and as Kalou, he's also young. Something we need in an ageing squad... Not too sure about Malouda, I'm definitely positive he shouldn't be a definite starter, but given Guus returns... He managed to get the best out of Malouda, so I wouldn't let go of him as of yet. Add to that, Malouda has said he wants to be "our Ryan Giggs" so that can only mean he doesn't mind being a squad player rather than an untouchable first-teamer. - Bale isn't as good as everyone makes him to be, and adding the insane pricetag the spuds would definitely put on him he seems like an unrealistic target for us. - Modric I agree with you but I think manure will get him before us... That would be a real shame. - Van Der Wiel, I also agree, what I've seen of him has definitely impressed me and he's also young. - Neymar... Well this is a must in my opinion. He looks the real deal and he doesn't seem to be afraid of running past defenders, something our current "wingers" seem to forget to do. - Begovic, he's alright for a second choice keeper, though I wouldn't mind if we kept Hilario. Van Gaal? Not too sure about that... I think our best choice is Guus. Van Gaal would be a gamble, and if we were to risk a gamble like that I would go for Villas-Boas instead. Edit: Whoops, seems like the original post was moved Edited June 5, 201115 yr by DannyD

Edit: Whoops, seems like the original post was moved I just think we need a good clearout and something radical to get us playing fast, attractive, attacking football. I think the players I've said and Van Gaal would do this. Selling the ones I've listed would free up funds for the purchase of the others. BTW if you don't rate Bale, who is as good as him, as fast as him and delivers the finals balls he does, as well as being experienced in the Prem, 21 years old and plays on the left wing as well as being able to play left back, in World football right now?

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that Danny's point was not that Bale isn't good, but that he isn't as good as people seem to think he is. He has significantly fewer goals and assists than even Kalou this season and in more game time. He may well become good in the future, but at the moment he doesn't have anything in his locker besides being quicker than other people. He doesn't have the control or trickery to take on players in a one on one situation that somewhere like Neymar or even Malouda have. He has (in my opinion) had one good game against Inter in the CL and not done a huge amount else this season. If he continues his development then he might become a good player, but he isn't worth anywhere close to what Tottenham are after for him.

Oh I rate Bale. I just don't think we should pay more than 20mil for him, and that isn't going to happen. We've got Zhirkov there, although we haven't given him many chances, but he's certainly got the talent. Also if we get Neymar he's more than capable of playing on the left wing. You could argue Neymar would probably cost a bit more than Bale, but I rather give Neymar a chance. Just my humble opinion.
June 5, 201115 yr I don't like Bale's injury record either. Also, his primary asset is speed, which is the first thing to decline with age. If he had some trickery or ball control mixed in (I mean above and beyond your average winger) like Neymar then I'd be a lot more interested. But the injury record and the speed reliance make him a huge risk for the long term.
June 6, 201115 yr This is a little article about the guy I mentioned a few days ago Marvin Martin. It's a goal.com but it's not a bad piece. http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2011/06/06/2519743/introducing-little-xavi-marvin-martin-is-frances-new
