Memories here ... Mel Scott was a wonderful player, a ball-playing Centre-half before the term had been invented. Not quite sure why he never really made it, but he was a firm fans favourite. Tony Nicholas - in the days when you were allowed to ‘jostle’ their keeper, that is what he always did in the (usually) forlorn hope that the goalie would drop the ball! Well, it finally happened ... once ... and, you guessed it, Tony missed the open goal!

Image result for chelsea 1977/78 Clive Walker v Liverpool at The Bridge in 1977/78. Is that Joey Jones beside Clive ?

Cheers for spotting the Liverpool players, assume No 4 is Phil Thompson.

Related imageRelated imageAmazing that Kenny would leave us and go on to win an English Division One title and then a European Cup with Villa !

After successfully converting from a striker to a fullback. As Colin Lee did not long after.

Wouldn't have got in it. Not in the front three, but could have battled Colin Lee for the right-hand slot!

Try telling my sons that Forest, Villa and Ipswich were once that good in European competition.

Oh I can't be anything but biased to the members of that team !

Agreed, sorry Kenny !

programme cover for F.C. Copenhagen v Chelsea, Thursday, 5th Nov 1998 Thursday, 5th Nov 1998 We won 1-0 in Copenhagen. Brian Laudrup's first and last goal for us. In his last game for us too.

I thought he would have been an outstanding player for us. Having seen him play so brilliantly for Rangers,,

He never settled or seemed comfortable with us, don't remember why !
