Just checke diy out, We won 1-0 with Jimmy Greaves scoring, in front of 8,000 spectators. Perhaps we played so many mid week friendlies back then was simply as a way of generating cash for the club ?
November 7, 20196 yr Ah, the electric fence. A while back I was speaking to a guy in my local pub about the fence and he told me that his father owned the company which installed the electric fence. The owner asked Ken if electrifying the fence was legal and was told to go ahead with the work. We all know what happened in the end when the council pulled the plug.

Bad memory time, it's where I stood to watch us lose 4-0 there in 81, it's the corner of the North Bank. First time I'd been there and seen a good turnout from ours after a few scary days out in East London in the previous seasons. I'm pretty sure that the equivalent corner of the South Bank had a flat roofed building between it and the side enclosure. Edited November 7, 20196 yr by MKBlue
