Ive been following Aston Villa for well over 50 years - Martinez is by some distance the best keeper Ive ever seen. Youve signed an absolute baller - Honestly you are going to love him. He has an eye for spectacular saves - sure. But equally on crosses he is so incredibly assured - you just wont even be worried - He nearly always gets his angles right - and organizes the defense for corners & high pressure situations .
Mentally strong (and a bit mental) - If he does have a poor game - He tends to bounce back to his superhuman best in the next game.
Im gutted hes gone - But think Chelsea is the ideal move for him - I think he will get you an extra 6-10 points next season - he is that good.

You have to give credit to whoever landed this deal. I know the market is inflated this year but that price for a player of his ability is exceptional.

Have to say I really liked the attacking movement of Rogers/Pedro/Palmer in this game. Palmer is just a different beast if he can move into the right-hand channel with support and options, and Rogers and Pedro have similar skillsets so we lose nothing if one drops wide and the other goes in the centre.
My hot take is that the role Reece James played in this game is his best one, so either alongside Caicedo in a two or, preferably, at RCB in a three. No one in the world crosses from the channel like he does.

This is why people think you're a bellend, until you learn how to converse like an adult I won't bother.

The outlawing of Bomb squads is a big problem for the board and Alonso. The friction this will cause between them could derail the "new project " before it gets going.
How is Alonso going to train 40 players and/or how are the board going to get rid of 10 players?
They'll have to loan out players and pay their wages. In the meantime the player values drop and other clubs will be licking their lips come the next window.
The only reliable trait this board have is its ability to seek out new ways to cock things up.
