Jordan Henderson

Chelsea lead race. Do they bo**ocks. No other club with any standards about them would be after this bloke. Oh its his experience and how he can talk the lads in the dressing room. Spent half of his career injured and has anyone heard the twat talk. Can barely grasp a consonant, it's just one long neanderthal vowel sound.

Yea, that did make me chuckle.. there was a race? He is a bit northern for us in terms of how his ‘leadership’ is going to work, at this rate, why not just sign him as backroom staff if he’s that good? (Same could have been said for England too)

This one is just madness, almost like they’re taking the piss out of us /as fans who wanted experience.

Must be some older players about better than Henderson say like Goretzka. Wages are probably a factor though.

Come to think about the reason the club seem so quick to turn to these older players may just be the low transfer fees, short contracts and low wages. Dont expect any real top players that will bring experience.

I don’t think it’s as bad as people are saying.

He can do the ‘England role’ here. Maybe get minutes in cup matches against lower league teams but apart from that, he can spend the rest of his time doing what he’s known for. Keeping the training standards high and motivate his team mates.

I’m not excited about signing Henderson purely as a footballer but I like the change in direction we’re going. We’re going for leadership and experience.

No more of the silly red cards and disciplinary issues.

It’s time to be a proper team, at last.

Not exactly what I was expecting, need smaller advertising hoardings and yellow and black warning and trip signs if he does come, injured, of course, I'll be disappointed if he gets a lot of minutes, bit of a head scratcher, but can see him fulfil a milner type role, him and welbeck. We will see if both are still good enough to help close out games. Each summer we become more like Brighton and give them money.

Just realized he’s a free agent so this will be done soon I reckon.

It’s Welbeck that’ll take a while.

Not a free agent. His Brentford contract runs until summer 2027.

Been reported he has a gentleman's agreement with them that if one of the big six moves for him they will let him go.

Chelsea fans on sh*tter and on Youtube making asses of themselves trying to justify this. If I suggested this signing a day ago, they would rightly laugh in my face, now that it's likely going to happen, they are pretending it's genius.

I also see people everywhere saying Henderson will be good for the young players, and that he will remove the petulant side of our game.......everybody is so simple minded when it comes to us needing experience. When we say we need experience, we don't mean over the hill crap like Henderson, we mean late 20's to early 30's who have played at the top, know what it takes to win and still have plenty to offer. So many people view things like it's a video game, like just getting any player with experience is enough to improve all of the naive and childish parts of our game. It doesn't work like that.

Unlike Brighton fans, who have had a reaction of both being pissed at Welbeck looking to join us (they apparently hate us) and upset as they see him as a big loss, Brentford fans don't seem to care Henderson is leaving and see it as not great loss.

If he brings that faux hard man act of his, the little discipline that we have will disappear entirely.

Brighton fans should love us, they might not exist if it wasnt for the Chels.

I get that you don’t agree with the signing but the suggestion that he has spent half his career injured is simply not the case . The last time he featured in less than 20 first team league games in a season was in 2015/16.

Is this like when we were definitely signing 40 year old Crouch and everyone was freaking out, which turned out to be complete and utter bo**ocks.

All due respect Scott, I think Alonso would know better than you the impact someone like Henderson will have.

If he wants him, I have no issue with it. He's effectively going to be a mascot and will probably never see any meaningful mins on the pitch.

We can but hope.

Yes, you are right and i am really surprised and a little concerned by the amount of games that he has actually played in. My memory is failing me cos i was sure he kept injuring himself towards the end of his time at Liverpool.

Not sure about this, I was hoping to have some quality experience that will be able to have an impact on the pitch.

He’s not going to get any minutes IMO so won’t be much of a voice on the pitch so if he’s being signed to keep standards up in training or be a voice in the dressing room what are the manager and coaches doing?

If he’s being signed for free and the manager wants him and feels he can help maybe his ears in the dressing room I’m not against it likely he only plays in an emergency or lower league cup tie.

Baffling for people saying he got some leadership character considering he couldn't even handle bolateli penalty incident well. He was looking at the bench like asking for daddy for help at that time.
