Sat 8th Dec 1973. at 2pm,.  We beat Leicester City 3-2.  Our scorers: John Hollins with 2 pens. In the 45th and 82nd mins.

Peter Osgood scored for us on the hour mark.

Think this was during the '3 day working week' of the time and also electricity was being saved. So hence the 2pm kick off time.

Just checked and the 3 day working week didn't come into effect until 13th Dec 1973.

However, there were electricity saving measures in place.

Yeah it was Durie's debut and Les Fridge's only game for us.

Hadn't seen it before either.

A 1-0 and 2-0 win respectively v Newcastle and Fulham.

We beat Norwich 3-1 on Sat 9th Dec 1972.   Our scorers: Bill Garner 48th and Ian Hutchinson 58th and 76th mins. 

A crowd of  29,998  saw it.

We then played Norwich on the 13th at The Bridge in the League Cup Semi Final first leg.

Norwich were then managed by the late Ron Saunders
