Angel di Maria is a target for Chelsea (AFP/Getty Images) Marca TV's Futboleros show reported that Villas-Boas had contacted both central defender Pepe and wideman Di Maria to see whether they were interested in a move. It suggested there was little chance of Pepe relocating to London as he is close to agreeing terms for a new contract at Real Madrid, but told a different story about the Argentina international. Di Maria, 23, recently angered officials at the Santiago Bernabeu by asking for an improved deal, just 12 months after he joined the club from Benfica. The recent signing of Fabio Coentrao and possible arrivals of Santos forward Neymar and Atletico Madrid frontman Sergio Aguero could make it difficult for Di Maria to hold down a regular starting role next term. Should Chelsea come up with an acceptable bid for a player who cost Real Madrid £20.3 million last summer, the Spanish club may be willing to sell.
July 9, 201113 yr marca said that we are going to get Di Maria and Pepe... but we really don't need c**t Pepe.
July 9, 201113 yr I really hope we get di maria. Marca are a paper who are hard to trust when there so biased to real madrid.
July 9, 201113 yr Would love Di Maria but it would probably cost us alot. If they signed him for 20 million last year, then they will probably want atleast double that.
July 9, 201113 yr Rm are stupid mate they won't want 40mill for him. Look at maka... And Sneider, and VDV and Eto`o etc... they have a legacy of odd transfers out. Plus Jose keeps saying he loves us so surely he will give him to us for a packet of Jammy dodgers and a commemorative Princess Diana plate. Edited July 9, 201113 yr by dkw
July 9, 201113 yr Di maria was the worst player when argentina played bolivia, he kept loosing the ball and his crosses was horrible, no thanks.
July 9, 201113 yr Di maria was the worst player when argentina played bolivia, he kept loosing the ball and his crosses was horrible, no thanks. Not this again. I really wish people wouldnt make a decision based on one seeing one game. Messi was garbage in that game also, would you not want him either?
July 9, 201113 yr Di maria was the worst player when argentina played bolivia, he kept loosing the ball and his crosses was horrible, no thanks. This was one game. He had a fantastic season. Did you see his cross to adeybyor in the copa del ray final against barca. Bloody brilliant. Tbh, I can't believe we are discussing this again (falcao thread). You can't judge a player from one bad performance.
July 9, 201113 yr Not this again. I really wish people wouldnt make a decision based on one seeing one game. Messi was garbage in that game also, would you not want him either? Messi managed to get past players atleast, but didnt have any support when 2-3 bolivia players moved in on him. Even in 1 game you expect a player to do something good and not constantly mess things up for your team, kinda simillar to what ganso did for brazil in their game against venezuela.

July 9, 201113 yr I will watch him again next game, he better run circles around players to make up for the first impression I have of him. :)
July 9, 201113 yr So now ganso is sh*t aswell. Do you think we should shift luiz and torres aswell. Actually who stay at chelsea. Lamps had a poor run of games he must be sh*t... Thank god you have no involvement in cfc!

July 9, 201113 yr None of those players have been their teams absolute worst player when Ive seen them, also its very very rare you see a player dont do anything positive through a game if he is any good.
July 9, 201113 yr None of those players have been their teams absolute worst player when Ive seen them, also its very very rare you see a player dont do anything positive through a game if he is any good. Really? I have seen Messi do the sum total of nothing while playing for Argentina. In fact hardly any of the so called top stars had anything approaching a decent game for their national team during the world cup.
July 9, 201113 yr He's really someone who could excite our attack I think... I mean, SAF said last year that he was the 1 player he really wanted to sign...and he's doing quite a good job at signing players. I can't see it happening though since he's only been there a year. He was brilliant for RM in the UCL against Spurs which also makes me like him more... :D
July 9, 201113 yr I've seen him plenty for Benfica and less for Real. He is a good but inconsistent player who never stood out as anything special. Madrid paid a solid sum for his services only a year ago so he's on a long term contract and will probably cost a pretty penny. To me he's an Argentinean version of Neymar with half the talent and even stronger tendency to dive. I'm not against getting him, especially since he's young and may improve but there are better players out there.
July 10, 201113 yr Id have him.. if what the papers saying is true, which it probably isnt, 20 mil is a bargain. A great addition to our attack
July 10, 201113 yr Definitely a yes for me if he only cost less than 25m. We hardly find a great right wing nowadays. Angel could be a great addition to our right attacking flank, which is what we are lack of in our squad.
July 10, 201113 yr Di Maria is pretty much what you are looking for in a winger. I watch every RM game and although he can be inconsistent at times, overall he is very difficult to deal with down the flank with his pace and dribbling, has a good cross and setup pass and can also finish. I think he would be better than Valencia for Man Utd. Getting him, Modric, Pepe, Van Der Wiel and one of Tevez or Falcao would be all this team needs. Ship out Malouda, Kalou, Bosingwa, Ferreira, Anelka, Yossi. I would keep Mikel.
July 11, 201113 yr That's over 150mill transfer list #unrealistic :) These are the positions where we need players. Unrealistic or not. Plus I think we will be spending big this summer and selling a lot too. So the net cost will not be 150 mil.

Again, I dont understand how we'd keep all of Torres, Drogba AND Falcao happy. Tevez is another matter because he can play wide in the front three....well just about!
