3 Horse Race

Featured Replies

I know it's only early days but it already looks like a 3 horse race!!

They all have connections to Chelsea, but which one of them will get the sack first??

So here we have the runners and riders and a bit of form!

AVB- Spuds, absolutely clueless, the press are already on his case and so are the fans, probably conducts the wierdest press conferences ever!

He is probably the second favourite but I think he has shown stamina in the past and could go the distance!

Brendon Rodgers- Liverfool, main flaw he is not 'King' (TM Liverfool) Kenny, looks to have been hung out by the clubs owners!

Probably third favourite with the bookies, but has never been a stayer over the longer course, doesn't like heavy round, could be a suprise winner!

Mark Hughes- QPha, brought in lots of players, but has he brought in quality and has he addressed their main problems or will Anton (PLUG) Ferdinand still be playing week in week out, also got an impatient owner, who has been known to change direction quickly!

The current favourite, and he deserves to be, however faces stiff competition from the other riders!

Personally I'm pleased with the form of each of the riders and wouldn't want their owners to make any rash decisions!

Mark Hughes is my bet. Had to rely on results elsewhere to stay up (despite spending lots in January). He could lose his job with another 2 losses.

AVB... I could see him lasting until the new year. Think he'll pull out enough wins to give him a bit of a lifeline.

Rodgers... The owners don't want to get the chequebook out again after 'King Kenny' pissed £100mill down the drain on awful transfers. Can't see the fans turning on him quickly, especially if Liverpool continue their trend of game upping against bigger sides and go on some cup runs. Can see more American flags being burnt before the season is out though.

I think AVB will come good in a few months. Liverpool look pretty poor under rogers but could be just due to adapting to a new philosophy. QPR. Well. Mark Hughes didn't know what he was doing in the transfer window. The whole thing reeks of mid-table. They want to be in Europe within 4 years (their 4 year plan), but with the players they are bringing in, they won't even get close in 10.

I see Adkins at Southampton Going first, followed by AVB, Hughes and then Rodgers

You can't be serious?? Adkins got Southampton back to back promotions and two of his first three games of the season have been against the two manchester teams. Not to mention they only narrowly lost both. AVB would be the favourite in my mind, the fact that he has done such a drastic clearout of personnel means that it all falls on to his shoulders. Will be interesting to see if he learnt from his many mistakes with us.

I think Rodgers will be given the season at the very least, he got jacked in the transfer market by the club, would never have let carrol go if he didn't think they wouldnt get another striker in so that should also get him some leeway. They didn't bring him in for hte short term the owners had the long haul in mind. Really dont see the point of talking about the sack race 3matches in anyway, along with Southampton Liverpool have had one of the toughest starts to the season

I'm not sure who will be first, but I am sure Rodgers wont see the end of the season. The Carroll saga was already a disaster, the pressure is already on (and I dont see them getting much better), and when this "being Liverpool" thing comes out there will be an army of irate Scousers upset at Kenny's sacking all over again.

Somehow, I see QPR being relegated with Hughes at the helm. I think AVB makes it to Feb/Mar again.

That said, I hope I am 100% wrong and theyre all sacked within weeks. That would be fantastic.

Hughsie will be the first and it will be in january..Spud chairman is too astute to sack AVB too quickly and pay big money as comp.My opinion is Brendon Rodgers isnt remotely liverpool and wont be able to fit in.Even tho the Pool fans are prob the best fans in the world , they wont accept whats happening by febuary. Our man will be "let go" come the end of the season.

Hughes must be favourite...followed by RDM if we are well outside the top 4 in January.......hope not. Can't see AVB being fired unless they are well off the pace for a Europa League spot and they have been knocked out of cup competitions...Levy needs to save face....I think Rodgers will stay despite where Liverpool finish....and maybe Sam Allaydyce or Martin Jol

Sals I was just enjoying the misfortune of some of our dearest rivals!

You know what they say though, never a truer word than those said in jest!

AVB and Rodgers won't get fired. AVB has the backing from the board and unless something drastic happens I can't see that changing. As for Rodgers, he was only brought in just so he can be ordered around by the higher ups. They wanted a young manager to be their puppet, someone who wouldn't stand up to them and they got that. Right now the Liverpool owners are only interested in making profit, they could finish 10th and they still wouldn't sack Rodgers.

I can't really see anyone getting sacked to be honest, half the teams got new managers so I can't see them getting sacked after just one season and the other half of the teams have managers who have been there a while/won promotion.

That said I do think Paul Lambert will have a hard time, only person I can think of who may get sacked.
