1. What are your thoughts on Mourinho returning ?

I'm delighted! It's great to have arguably our greatest ever manager back at the bridge and he looks like he's here for the long term. We desperately needs some stability with a young, improving squad and Jose is the man.

2. Your opinion on your team selection v performance so far ?

All good so far, apart from the Mata issue. I want to see a lot more of him and I'm uncertain why he's not playing. He can only be 'unfit' for so long.

I missed the Bayern game but I caught the other three matches. The Villa game was a little hairy at times but we never looked like losing against Hull and Man United.

3. Any thoughts on this years transfer window as a whole for the league?

Now that Bale has gone to Real, that's a huge loss for the league in general. However, a lot of 'mid-table' teams have strengthened considerably (possibly something to do with the bumper TV money this year) which makes the whole league far more competitive.

You guys still need a striker though!

4. What are your thoughts if any on United's attempts to buy our players on the cheap given both clubs finances, and are you likely to go for any of our players yourselves.

I'd happily take Fellaini. Despite us signing a crazy amount of midfielders I still hold the belief that we need some strength in our defensive duo. Fellaini would do that job for us.

As for the United bids, it's baffling. I get the impression that Moyes is getting desperate and is hoping that Everton will do him a favour.

5. Which Chelsea player surplus to your own needs would be the best addition for Everton ?

It looks like Moses and Ba are both on their way out and I think they'd both improve your team.

6. How do you think both of our clubs will do this season ?

I'm not as optimistic as some people. To me, it's City's title to lose and I'm hoping to take 2nd.

As for Everton? Champions League places are out of reach unfortunately, Spurs and Liverpool have improved this year. A similar squad with a new manager in Martinez, I reckon top ten, probably 7th.

7. What are your expectations of our upcoming match, and scoreline ?

It'll be a tight game, Everton always give us a tough match. I'm going to go for 2-1, to Chelsea, obviously. :-)

Remember how you felt when you got married or had a child? I don't because I've never done either but I can only imagine they will feel just as good as the return of Jose did.

 

2. Your opinion on your team selection v performance so far ?

 

While I wish Lukaku had been given a start in the league I can see that Jose is just going to bring him in gradually. Even though people are panicking Mata WILL play a big role this season, he's just not been fully fit.

 

3. Any thoughts on this years transfer window as a whole for the league?

 

I would be very disappointed if I was an Arsenal or Man Utd fan, both need to improve their squad quite a bit tomorrow. City have done well, once Jovetic is given games he will prove to be a great buy. Spurs have impressed me with their purchases and even though Bale has gone they will be a better team this season.

 

4. What are your thoughts if any on United's attempts to buy our players on the cheap given both clubs finances, and are you likely to go for any of our players yourselves

 

I think Moyes offering as low as he did for Baines and Fellaini was disgraceful, after all of those years of service you'd have thought he's have been fair, adn for him to have the audacity to claim he wouldn't stay in the way of them leaving was appalling. Chelsea won't come in for any players as I don't think we need anything else, I would have liked to have signed a DM but what can you do. 

 

5. Which Chelsea player surplus to your own needs would be the best addition for Everton ?

 

Apart from Ba now that Moses has gone I don't think there are any players surplus to requirements in our squad. I would suggest Chalobah but I don't know if he is ready for a top 10 team in the premier league yet.

 

6. How do you think both of our clubs will do this season ?

 

I think Chelsea will win the league this season and I think that Everton will finish around 8th.

 

7. What are your expectations of our upcoming match, and scoreline ?

 

I think that we will win 2-0, Everton do usually give us problems especially at goodison but I think ultimately we will come out on top

We're happier than Arsenal achieving 4th.

 

2. Your opinion on your team selection v performance so far ?

 

Some of his decisions have been debatable but he's been vindicated so far.  I personally felt we could have been more positive against Man United and gone for the win since we managed to toe to toe with Bayern Munich.  But he took a gamble and our counter-attacking play let us down.  A point away to them is a good result though, especially if we beat them at the Bridge.  We'd all like to see Mata get back into the side but I for one am sure we'll get our wish soon.  Very encouraged this season on performances so far, especially in the Super Cup.

 

3. Any thoughts on this years transfer window as a whole for the league?

 

Been an interesting one especially for Spuds.  City spent a lot but didn't seem to achieve all that much and United seem to be going backwards.

 

4. What are your thoughts if any on United's attempts to buy our players on the cheap given both clubs finances, and are you likely to go for any of our players yourselves.

 

Utterly classless hypocrisy from Moyes.  I hope you hold out unless they pay your valuation.

 

5. Which Chelsea player surplus to your own needs would be the best addition for Everton ?

 

I think Moses would have done a job for you but he seems to have gone to the wrong side of Merseyside.  You can have Torres if you want?  Ba also looks to be up for a loan and he could help give Everton some kind of edge in the final third.

 

6. How do you think both of our clubs will do this season ?

 

We're obviously going for the title, but top 3 would realistically be acceptable (provided we're in it till the end) and maybe a cup or two.  At the start of the season I thought Everton could make a bid for CL football but their slow start is letting them down considering Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool kicked on early.  Not sure your squad has the depth to push all the way. 

 

7. What are your expectations of our upcoming match, and scoreline ?

 

I think being away from home we'll contain and control, hit you on the counter and lock things down with a 1 or 2 goal lead.  I can't see Everton cracking our defence at the moment but fortunes can change in 2 weeks.

Since Mourinho left there have been some good managers here, a couple of which I'd gladly have kept long term and a couple more that I'd have been happy to have given more time to, that said though Mourinho's sacking was Abamovich's first big mistake and likely his biggest, maybe now after the comings and goings he and the fans will see that getting a good manager and sticking with him through some ups and downs will be better in the long term, I'm as happy as you could be after seeing a legend replaced by a fraud...it looks like for the club things have worked out for the best.

 

2. Your opinion on your team selection v performance so far ?

 

Its early day's and there are a lot of new and young players to integrate, I think he's giving some good time and responsibility to players that might have had a hard time getting a look in had

Jose felt it best to risk our player of the year coming back early (as most managers surely would) hopefully he's seen enough of Mata to know he's in his plans and now he has had a chance 

to see the back up options are ready and able as well, I'd pick out the non selection of Lukaku as being strange as I thought he was going to give Ba, Torres and the boy a start each but I'm

sure he'll get his chances.

 

3. Any thoughts on this years transfer window as a whole for the league?

 

Been interesting, City I feel made a mistake in letting go of Tevez and although Negrado looks ok I'd sooner Chelsea played a team with him in then with Tevez in it, I like Navas and feel he

could be the making of a player like Dzeko if he got more starts, Tottenham I thought bought well but after watching today I'll hold back on congratulating THFC on an expected CL place until they score a few from open play.

 

4. What are your thoughts if any on United's attempts to buy our players on the cheap given both clubs finances, and are you likely to go for any of our players yourselves.

 

It was always likely being as Moyes went there but his double standards fit right into his vain efforts to become a rednose clone, I like both players but don't feel we'd need them here.

 

5. Which Chelsea player surplus to your own needs would be the best addition for Everton ?

 

Torres, he'd be great...if it was up to me you could borrow moses only if you stumped up about sixteen mill for Nando

 

6. How do you think both of our clubs will do this season ?

 

I think we'll get top two, big influence will be if Eto'o can perform in this league at this level and fit with the gifted players we have, I do fear for your boys as I think Martinez will play a more open game than Moyes and without Bains/Fellaini I predict a bit of a tough season for you.

 

7. What are your expectations of our upcoming match, and scoreline ?

 

Again a lot depends on our choice of striker, if Eto'o plays it will be his first game and I don't expect miracles, if he doesn't and Torres or Lukaku plays again I don't expect miracles but would think we'll come away with the points.

Crazy, the money is ridiculous really but it's only gonna get worse. Been exciting though seeing all these players move around.

I think they were just typical starting bids, like feelers. Teams often start with cheeky bids. I don't think we'll be signing anyone else.

Miss but unfortunately he's gone to Liverpool

We'll be top two, you'll be top 7

Well I'd be disappointed if we didn't win but Everton having 3 draws on the bounce makes them dangerous. I think we'll win 2-0 but a draw wouldn't shock me

I think to say i've been too excited to sleep or eat would be an understatement.

 

2. Your opinion on your team selection v performance so far ?

 

Interesting that he's starting JT and Lamps in every game so far but aside from that I don't think there has been many surprises. I think we knew in advance Mata would have to be eased in after the 2 years he's just had and I think it's far too early to be concerned about or read anything in to it. He's also avoided rotating and trying out different players, we've started with largely the same team every game with the only real rotation coming up front.

 

3. Any thoughts on this years transfer window as a whole for the league?

 

Despite it being the biggest window money-wise ever, I felt it was a bit of an anti-climax. Suarez and Rooney didn't move, Falcao/Cavani/Lewandowski didn't come to England, United did virtually nothing and Arsenal waited until the last second to make their move in the one position on the field they actually have good players. On paper Spurs look to have done the best business but they've been pretty bad so far and haven't scored from open play yet. City spent big on a few players that have improved the depth of the squad but I don't think have improved the quality of their starting XI terribly much. As for us, no Rooney, no Cavani, no De Rossi, however i'm confident that Eto'o and Willian will become massive players for us, while Van Ginkel, De Bruyne and Schurrle will all have their parts to play this season as well.

 

4. What are your thoughts if any on United's attempts to buy our players on the cheap given both clubs finances, and are you likely to go for any of our players yourselves.

 

No offence but I don't see any Everton player getting into our team at the moment. Jagielka wouldn't be bad depth-wise but given the cost necessary and his age it's not an option, same with Baines as I think Shaw will be on his way here next year and we already have Bertrand as a backup, so no I don't think you have to worry about us. As for United, that's just the way it goes unfortunately, however it was amusing to see them moaning about our attempts for Rooney while Moyes tried to poach players from his old club.

 

5. Which Chelsea player surplus to your own needs would be the best addition for Everton ?

 

You already got him by the looks of it. However if you're talking about a permanent move, if Moses can't get back into the team next year he'd be a good shout for you lot, and you're always welcome to come and take our #9 off our hands. I don't think many would be overly sad if you'd replaced Fellaini with Mikel either.

 

6. How do you think both of our clubs will do this season ?

 

Hopefully we'll win it all or at least come close. With Liverpool and Spurs strengthening big i'd be surprised to see Everton climb or even hold what you had last year, realistically a top half finish would be decent in Martinez's first year.

 

7. What are your expectations of our upcoming match, and scoreline ?

 

Normally I dread our games at Goodison but with our new managers and Fellaini's departure, not to mention that your strikers are looking pretty hopeless right now, i'm fairly confident of a typical 1-0 grind. Hopefully Eto'o gets a start and the goal, and it would be nice to see Mata and Willian have a run out too.
