Chelsea v Sunderland (PL) 19/04/14 KO 17:30 GMT

Featured Replies

We have the late afternoon kick off next weekend.

We're hosting down-and-out Sunderland at home before our massive game up north.

Sunderland are practically dead-and-buried, relegated, and in free-fall. We have absolutely no excuse not to utterly trounce the worst team in the league. This, coupled with our lads wanted to get revenge for what happened in the Capital One Cup, makes me think we will put 4-5 past them and remain hot on Liverpool's heels.

If we fail to create chances, or god forbid fail to score, against a team already relegated and rooted to the bottom of the table we don't deserve to be in the title race at all.

Nothing other than an emphatic win will suffice.

Am curious to see how Jose approaches this game, what prep he will do given Brana misses our first leg with Atletico.

No excuses or reason for us not winning the game. We need to add some pressure to Liverpool as they play the next day. Is only Norwich they face but still, you never know.

Also worth mentioning that Sunderland play Manchester City in mid-week.

Their players will be knackered and probably more demoralized by the time they come to Stamford Bridge.

Absolutely no excuse.

Unless they take points from Citeh in which case they will come in on a high

I'm going to try and get ticket to this game ...hope we can cheer the team ...I hope Sunderland draw against city. .We win against Sunderland. ..Liverpool game we will leave our head high going into the game ......

You'll do well to get a ticket pal. It's sold out awhile ago

We normally do the goods at home, if City beat them midweek they'll be 7 points off safety with a game in hand, but only 5 games left to play. The Bridge will be well and truly up for this and I think we'll win it reasonably comfortably in the end.

I hope Ash gets at least an hour of match fitness into him, Dave could do with the rest as well. Matic and Salah to start because they can't play midweek, I think this is a game for Lamps too as Sunderland will be well and truly parked, and I doubt Lamps will start against Atletico which will give the opportunity to rest Luiz and Ramires ahead of the game. Maybe give Willian the first 60 minutes off to keep him fresh as well. Ba should start again after yet another important goal, and it will help to keep Eto'o fresh ahead of the CL semi.

------------Cech

Iva - Cahill - JT - Ash

--Matic - Lampard

Schurrle - Oscar - Salah

------------Ba

Subs: Schwarzer, Dave, Luiz, Ramires, Willian, Eto'o, Torres

Cole needs to start this one as he is also starting for the Atletico game since Ivan is suspended.

Salah and Matic are no-brainers for the same reason.

Still cannot risk Hazard so I think we'll see Willian/Oscar/Salah in AM again, resting Schurrle in the process for Atletico mid-week.

Coming down from Scotland for my first visit to the bridge for this game.

Cant wait! (First Chelsea game was the defeat to Villa away so I hope I'm not  a jinx).

Where would be best for a good bit of atmosphere pre/post match for a pint and a song or 10?

Cheers!

I don't see Sunderland getting anything from City or Us, they'll be on the down when the get to the bridge and frankly deserve an absolute rout against them.

Id expect a similar line up to yesterday against Swansea. Hopefully Salah can find his shooting boots this week though!

The jinx in that game without a doubt is chris foy

-------Cech------

Azpi---Brana---Terry--Cole

-----Ramires----Matic----

Salah-----Oscar-------Schurrle

------------Ba--------

Of course it will be nothing like that but with a few factors coming into play that's how I would go.

Rest Terry rather than Cahill and that would do for me.

I was thinking that but wanted to keep the leader on although I'd be happy for Cahill to play too. I know it's a risk to shuffle and at this stage I honestly don't think we will but hey ho.

I want Cole to get a game in him as he will play against Madrid surely while we are as well using Salah, Ivan and Matic as they won't feature in Spain.

Best to keep Eto'o fresh as hes not long back from injury and we will need him at his sharpest too.

you batter these lot 6-0 after their gaame at city. could catch liverpool on goal difference

Think with the goal difference becoming such a big deal in the title race we have to put 5 past these lot whilst keeping a team sheet

Im sure it'll be a reshuffle of the defence to prepare for Athletico

Cech - Azpi - Brana - Cahill -  Cole - Matic - Luiz - Salah - Oscar - Schurrle - Ba

Hazard, Eto'o, Willian, Terry and Ramires all rested for Athletico, although Ramires / Luiz could easily change.

it is a great chance for you to catch them on goal difference with 5 to 6-0 hammering

Can't be thinking like that, teams deserve some respect. West Ham was a prime example. People expected a pumping but in reality it's not as simple.

If you score an early goal then maybe but with 10 players sitting back and holding a tight line then it becomes a tough task.

A win over anything else at this stage.

They are their for taking. been worst team in league this month and you are unstopable at home. I fancy you to knock in a cricket score. I think this could be start of charge to winning league title at cardiff but we see.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but are the tickets labeled as sunday still valid? All the site says is if you cant attend anymore to send the tickets back. Nothing about new tickets being issued or something like that?
