Big personality, fan favourite. He showed glimpses of wonderful skill but consistent  he was not. Seemed to have suffered from severe mental lapses. Considering what we bought him for, I think we have hit the jackpot. Not overly sad to see him go and that's just honesty.

Good say mate, as a defender he's bang average. As a skillful ball player he's quality.

I think Luiz showed how much of a 'monster' he can be in midfield last season. Was huge against PSG in particular. In games where a midfield battle needed to be won, Luiz shone brightly.

He has shown great potential to play in midfield, maybe he'll play midfield for PSG? 

I have mixed feelings about this because he seems like a great personality to have at the club, and on top of that he's a great defender, if not sometimes a liability. I'll miss him. But €50m? Jeez that's a lot. It's going to be an interesting summer for Chelsea. In just this one season we've broken our club transfer on selling players two times - Mata for £40m and Luiz for €50m.

I think we need to be pragmatic about this.  Luiz was a good centre half but not a great one.  He would always be third choice next season in that position when we will also have Ivanovic and possibly Zouma as alternative third choices.  He looked like he could be a quality central midfielder but with Matic comfortably our first choice holding midfielder you have to ask whether Luiz offered nough creatively to be worth turning down £40m for.  £40m at a time when it appears FFP is actually going to be enforced and when we need to invest in a quality striker and will also be looking for a long term replacement for Frank sooner rather than later.

We will miss his personality on the park (and I don't mean he is a good laugh, I mean the personality to drive other players on) but I think this was just too good a deal to turn down.

This is just fantastic business. Luiz has had a sub par season, chucked up a lot of garbage shots and still lazy on the way back. I would say we've got the best of him and if PSG want to pay us that much then we would be crazy not to take it. Time for him to go and toy with the lesser teams of ligue 1.

50 million is absolutely ridiculous for David Luiz considering he's a player without a position. Can we use this money for a cheeky bid for Schweinsteiger? We need a midfield commander, someone who runs the team, since we seemed to lack a lot of character this season. a gritty powerful midfielder with a personality to drive the team is what we need.
