Kenedy aka 'The New Hulk'

Featured Replies

All I can think is that it's a way of trying to secure him a work permit by showing we intend to play him.

No idea where he fits in with a squad containing Hazard, Willian, Moses, Cuadrado and Traore.

Still a lot of ambiguity about who our attacking midfielders are going to be with rumours still circulating about Juventus' interest in Cuadrado and Jose suggesting that Moses staying isn't guaranteed.

Include Oscar and thats 6 players covering 3 positions, doesnt sound too much to me

You seem to be purposefully ignoring Jose.

Jose made it clear - Traore is NOT going to be loaned

Jose made it clear to Hughes - Moses is NOT going on loan

Jose made it clear yesterday - If we secure a permit for Kenedy, he is NOT going on loan.

These are Jose'c clear words. I dont see any ambiguities or "question mark."

Jose said of Moses:

‘Victor is strong, he’s experienced and he knows the Premier League well. ‘He’s fast and aggressive. Okay, he has to learn how to play with us but I’m happy with his week and his 45 minutes. Let’s see what happens but Victor had an evolution in the last couple of years.’

Key phrase there is "let's see what happens". He's made no promises he'll stay... In fact his Chelsea future could very much depend on what happens with Kenedy.

Regarding Kenedy the only Jose quote I have found is:

"We want him because we believe in him. Hopefully we have conditions to get him a permit, because we want him."

We're assuming he is referring to a work permit but it could be something else relating to him being owned by an investment group he is referring to.

That said, he has no senior caps for Brazil and even with the relaxed rules for work permits I would say it is far from a sure thing he would be granted one.

But let's take what you say at face value, do you really think there is room in our squad for Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Cuadrado, Moses, Traore and Kenedy all at the same time?

Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Cuadrado, Moses, Traore, Kenedy. Seven players for three positions and Jose has said he intends to play two up front on occasions this season too.

"With the strikers we have, we can play with two strikers together more than we did before. We have three very good strikers, and all of them with special motivations."

Throw in that Ramires and Remy filled in for the wide positions on quite a few occasions last season and it looks a bit over stacked in my opinion. Can't say I see Traore, Moses and Kenedy getting many minutes each if they all stayed.

Well apparently I cant count. Maybe my mind is subconciously trying to convince me Cuadrado will be sold. Fingers crossed. I think they can get some minutes if José learns how to rotate, if not it will ne slim pickings. Still not convinced Moses is here when the transfer window closws

Hopefully we wont see Ramires on the right again as long as hes here.

At the age of 24, the worthless Gabriel, who had never seen inside a brazillian team bus, got a work permit when he signed for Arsenal. I am not an expert on work permit applications, but if Chelsea are pushing for one, then  they have reasons to believe it is possible. If it works, great! If it fails, I hope he is signed and sent on loan to Germany or Spain.

As for "room." Jose is the coach and he gets paid a huge amount of money. Its his job.

FInally, i am almost 100% certain that Moses is staying. I can almost guarantee you that he will start on Sunday and against Swansea.

FOr starters, he will start the game against Arsenal and Swansea.

Well he was conspicuous by his absence last night, I can't find anything that says he was injured anywhere or if he was even on the bench.

The fact that Moses has been so heavily involved in pre-season and that Traore is apparently staying tells me that something is going to give with the attackers.

What you have to remember with Gabriel is that he was playing in Europe already for Villarreal which makes a big difference I believe... But point taken.

Bold call about Moses... Only way I see him starting ahead of Willian is if Jose thinks he needs a longer rest post Copa America.

That has absolutely nothing to do with work permit applications.

Also, Daily mail has this quote:

We have conditions to get him a work permit because we want him. We dont want him to go out on loan. I think we have what the rule demand to get him a permit.

As for Willian, just like i told someone last year when Schurrle started the season ahead of Willian, WIllian has nothing to worry about. Either he starts on Sunday against Arsenal, or as the season goes on, he'd be a starter. Its OScar who has everything to worry about.

As for my prediction, I dont think its bold. Its normal that the fittest and best performing player in pre-season start the game next sunday. I mean, what mesage will Jose be sending if he refuse to pick a player who has been head and shoulders above others?

I saw him lurking about last night he was pitch side

what is happening to the traditional brazilian football names of old? the new crop are starting to sound like a bunch of farmers from yorkshire.

...or famous American politicians?

He has not been head and shoulders above anyone. He's done well , that's all. If he wants to be starting regularly he still has a lot to prove. Thought Oscar was exceptional first half last night and his place will only be under threat if we sign a DM to play with Matic and Cesc displacing him or if someone come into an exceptional vain of form. And I'm nowhere near convinced Victor is there yet

Phew!! lucky for Victor, he doesnt have to impress you. The man he has to impress will select him as a starter on Sunday.

As for Oscar, I predict he will be old by next summer.

I like this kid Kennedy, he went out there to show how passionate he is and that goes a long way with Jose and all of us. As many here said though very raw but I think we either turn him into a starter in a cpl seasons or we make bank on him, either way good for us.

As was previously stated. The only way he starts is if Josè deems willian not fit enough. Simple as that.

Uhmm, you can say "simple as that," that means absolutely nothing! Moses will start against Arsenal and there is absolutely nothing you can do about that. Absolutely nothing! Oscar was given the same opportunity in pre-season and he was an eye-sore.

The last 2 game Willian played last season and his two games in pre-season this summer, he played as a 10 (albeit in the Barca game, he played 5 minute on the right until moses came on), but he has been playing as a 10 and that is his best position. I expect, Oscar to sit on the bench and next summer be shifted out of the club.

Hahaha. The upset in your tone is amusing to say the least. I don't care whether you are Victor Moses brother, agent or second cousin removed. Their is no way in a month of Sunday's he is anywhere near Oscar. Simple as that.

And when the squad are all at full fitness , he will sit on the bench most of the season and there's nothing you can do about it

I really hope Willian does play number 10 it is by far the better position for him and he is better than oscar as a 10, if we have one of our right sided players come good this season then surely Willian stays central, then again if we play 2 strikers do we put them side by side or one in front of the other, that would shake up the whole dynamic of who plays where

Personally I prefer Oscar in middle as I think he has more end product than Willian.

We struggle for goals from our midfielders and I think taking out one of the players who is more prone to scoring goals could be risky.
