Sorry it's late, I was out last night for my birthday. Thankfully I managed to avoid the result and catch up with a full match replay this morning.

Went for Costa, looked sharp and he ran his socks off. Aside from nearly getting sent off he was our best player, he actually looked like he gave a sh*t.

Azpi, Mikel and Fabregas were very good and seem to be building consistency.

 

Willian and Costa were pretty good, people weren't happy with his aggression but his effort and performance was good, shooting in the first half was bad though, if he was clinical enough the game would've been done.

 

Zouma started off well but boy did he panic towards the end.

 

Oscar and Pedro didn't offer much and shouldn't have started.

 

Subs: Kenedy did well when he came on, Matic did not have the desired effect and made us more open.

Mikel also good but first half was really average. Second half he showed great passing.

i mean everyone was kinda good/ok (except Oscar) but Pedro lacked some basic things yesterday. Not his day at all.

Agree with this, he was playing more as a box to box midfielder after half time and was really looking to drive forward. Needs to stop holding the opposition when the ball's in the air though as he could easily have incurred a stupid yellow for constantly doing it.

Fairly average performance from us, although I thought Fabregas stood out throughout the game, and we looked a far poorer side as soon as he was removed. Costa was dangerous, and I also thought that Willian, Azpilicueta and Mikel put in solid performances, the latter of whom really grew into the game during the second half. Everyone else was average other than Pedro and Zouma, both of whom were very poor.

 

Special mention to Kenedy who looked a far more threatening prospect down the left than Pedro. Judging by Hiddink's willingness to consistently start Mikel over a misfiring Matic, I hope that we will see Kenedy start against Everton.

Azpilicueta. I thought he was the only one of our defenders who didn't look all over the place. He also got us a goal. It's funny how his only 2 goals for us has come against the same team.

Costa. Wanted it and tried to drag the rest of the team along with him.
