Well it will be very funny when even with these signings Pep realises that he can't get the City Mercenaries to play consistently and that it is a lot harder to manage a match on a cold wet windy monday night in Stoke then it is against the lower standards of the other leagues.

I'm also not sure whether Pep footballing philosophy is suited to the premier league just look at how LvG is struggling to implement his.

So with everything set up for success and it almost expected it will be very funny if he were to fail.

Side note Chelsea have never lost against a side Pep was managing (1W 4D)

Based on his performances this season I don't think City will invest so heavily on Stones who needs a lot of coaching and maturing.

They'll be looking for the finished product, I'd expect them to sign someone like Hummels instead.

Well said Pedro, here, here !

I think Pep will find it a lot tougher in the premier league, what with the dodgy weather, dodgy referee decisions, dodgy constant rumours and sulky big egos warming the bench LoL looking forward to him struggling just like LVG has at man ure

I hope not, he looks like a villain from a James Bond film !

Seriously .....IMO Pellegrini has massively under-achieved at citeh.

With the squad and bottomless pit of money he has had there, MP should have done a lot better, they have been woeful in the Champions league.

I wouldn't want a citeh reject and his citeh assistant mates coming to us, thanks all the same.

It's a bit nasty for pep coming to city the way he was coming to bayern..

Hah, he took the easy way out, at this rate, I suppose his next destination would be PSG.. what a convenient way of building up his CV..

Some fair points here. As for us, it might turn out a blessing in disguise. Sometimes it's looked to me as if we were hoping to lure Guardiola to Stamford Bridge by trying to buy players in what we thought was the Barcelona mould. There have been times this season when we've just looked lightweight and we've been steamrollered by average sides.

We're not playing in the Spanish league. We're playing in England. The Board need to remind themselves of that simple fact. We're not Barcelona and in trying to imitate them we've lost our way and any identity that we had.

Personally I miss the powerful, relentless Chelsea of the first Mourinho era. That was a distinct identity that we jettisoned under orders it seems from Abramovich to play pretty football. If losing Guardiola to City ends that delusion of the owner, then I'm glad.

More than anything we need to take the future footballing direction of the club out of Abramovich’s naive hands and put in place a proper footballing Board and technical director who know what they're doing.
