Where does the Everton win rank in our best performances?

Regardless of which sesson we were better in, that Ancelotti title win will always be my favourite. I think it was cause it was a damn close title race and was just way more exciting than running away with it.

I understand the sentiment, but the 2004/2005 title-winning season is still the best in my opinion!

Ancelotti's team was brilliant at their best, but I don't think we were as consistent under him as we were under Mourinho-led teams.

That was our best ever team but I think for me cause 09-10 went to the last day and we did the double I just enjoyed it that little bit more.

Don't get me wrong the wait to see us even win a title was painful but I just prefer closer won trophies as I find it more exciting.

Just my opinion obviously, but...
I think that was probably the most perfect 90 minutes we've ever played without there being an emotional twist to the game. It was just utterly pleasurable to watch.
And just to make it even sweeter the scouse, gooner and Manure pundits had to gush about it as well, which i'm sure stuck in the craw of many of them... Deep joy.

I am not that super high on this win as the rest of you folks. If I heard the commentators, I believe Everton were also experimenting with a 3 CB in that game when they - clearly have not played it in a premier league prior to that and , - they clearly do not have the back 3 to play that. The whole change in a not well practised formation caused their defense to be in 6s and 7s and we routed them. It is a good win for us against a disorganized team, But I have seen Chelsea teams in the past beating a well organized team so I think it will be unfair if i were to rank this victory over some of those. The most entertaining game i remember vs Everton was the one where we defeated them 6 - 3 where Eto played for Everton. That was good offense by both the teams.

The thing is Everton have played that formation before and it is something that Koeman has done at Southampton too. While he has not played it much this season, he played a 3-4-3 formation against WBA. The problem is that game was right at early stages of season and they had adjusted to a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 formation after so the change of formation was sudden. It just came at the wrong time against us who had built up a fantastic understanding of the formation and just was another level.

Having watched the highlights a few times over and spoken to blokes in the pub who I know despise Chelsea and hearing they're praise of the game.  This is getting higher and higher in my books.  Even in some of our bigger wins, the opposition had shots.  We destroyed an in form team.
