No.

He's a nasty individual responsible for the death of another human being. He should never be allowed to play football, especially for our club. Hopefully he's sold.

What a load of rubbish.

Not sure how you embed the image. My bad, but rest assured this is the greatest Chelsea XI you could possibly make.

How old are you? 'Lufattu' Christ this is embarrassing. Get rid of both our wing backs that performed well last year?  Bonkers mate.

On 2 May 2011, Alonso was arrested following his involvement in a car accident in Madrid. He was the driver of a car that collided with a wall, killing one of the passengers, a 19-year-old woman, having been driving at 112.8 km/h (70 mph) in wet conditions in a 50 km/h (30 mph) zone, with a blood alcohol level of 0.93 mg per litre.[23][24] He faced 21 months in prison when sentenced in February 2016, but his punishment was changed to a €61,000 fine and a driving ban of three years and four months, which had already been spent.[25]

Do you want to rethink what you said?

Is that the same prick who want's Moses to be sold for one dive?

Two dives. I don't want that kind of player at the club. Why does that make me a prick for saying so?

Okay. I was childish whilst writing that, and I apologise. I don't rate Lukaku and I don't want him at the club. If you feel differently, that's fine. You can't deny he has an eye for goal. I'm just not sold on his attitude when I know our team and club ethos is one of winners.

Moses dropped off massively as the season went on, and dived twice in major games, one of which cost us a major final. For that alone he should be sold.

Alonso did great. I just don't think the club should ever have employed him with his past record.

Didier dived ridiculous amounts during the start of his Chelsea career. You don't just sell a good player for one mistake.

Alonso made a mistake and paid the price. I'm sure it haunts him more than anyone else, he doesn't need more punishment.

It wasn't one mistake. It was two. I wasn't calling for his head after the Spurs semi dive.

I wrote in a post somewhere else that the comparison with Drogba isn't really fair. People can look back with the benefit of hindsight after Didier achieved everything there was to achieve with the club, but had he have been sold during the early part of his career with us, not too many would have shed a tear.

Alonso made a mistake. One which cost another human being their life as he now continues to swan on and enjoy success. It wasn't even that long ago he was plying the booze and killing someone whilst speeding. If you had been that woman's relative or friend, I'm sure you'd feel very differently. Every time he scores, I'm pleased for the club, I'm pleased for everyone else, but not him. I'll be very pleased the day he leaves.

I've seen Hazard go down in similar circumstances to the one against Spurs and no one cares. If a challenge is coming, a player is going to use that to his advantage. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Alonso had a punishment and served it. Should we not allow people to re-enter society and be the best they can be after serving their punishment?

Why? I knew about it before we signed him, I already made my opinions clear on the matter, when the discussion was had a few months ago. No doubt he was an idiot and you can't excuse him, but I don't think you can judge him based on this terrible accident, he made a mistake and I'm sure he regrets it every day of his life.

Technically, the semi-final wasn't a dive, because the referee gave a penalty.

And it makes you a prick because it is a prick-ish thing to say.  Same as your "opinion" on Alonso.

I suppose you have never ever done something wrong or made any sort of mistake in your life.

It's not okay for a player to go down whether they believe a challenge is coming or not. You stay on your feet and keep going until actual contact is made. That's how I feel about it anyway. When people like Shearer say "Oh, he was smart to go down when he did", it encourages an atmosphere of diving and dishonesty. Chelsea FC need to be above that.

Of course people should be allowed to re-enter society after serving a punishment. I merely said that I wish he wasn't at Chelsea.

I haven't seen any of your previous posts on the matter, so couldn't comment about that.

People do have the ability to change and make progressive action in their life. Well done Alonso on that part. Mistakes come with varying degrees of severity. In my personal opinion, he got away with it and it must be really hard on that young woman's family to see him do well in his career, enjoying every minute. Being responsible for an action that extinguishes someone else's life should carry far higher sentences. The Spanish legal system is not exactly renowned.

It was still a dive, whether the referee/linesman thought otherwise or not.

It wasn't a prickish thing to say, in my opinion. As I've mentioned in other places, I respect other's opinion on Alonso. Floyd25 is okay, as is RIP Mourinho. We've had a constructive discussion about it without it descending into personal insults. It does say a lot about you, doesn't it. Normally the personal insults start coming out once you have nothing of value to add to a discussion.

I've made plenty of mistakes in my life, none of which have resulted in the death of another human being.

That's how football is now unfortunately. Getting rid of a player for diving would harm the club massively. I we cut it out and every other club carries on doing it we don't win a trophy again for a long time. You have to be smart to win games and sometimes that relies on an opposition jumping into a tackle and using it to your advantage.

Can see a 4-2-4 next season if we sign the right personnel. What i would love to see.

You'd make Dave an out-and-out centre-back???

Absolutely, i think he will excel there and he is our best defender. He adapted to both full back positions and RCB without any issue's and i don't think CB will be any different, infact it's something i wanted us to try under Jose a few years ago (after signing Felipe Luis).

Hopefully not. I fear Azpi would get found out in a back 4 through the middle, a back 3 suits him nicely. This also takes a lot of freedom away from Hazard as he would have defensive duties again.

I don't think he will, the only chink in his armour defensively is his height (like it was Carvalho) and that would be made up for with Cahill/Luiz.

Given you a like for that, and also this post saying that I agree. Perhaps it's me that isn't ready to accept this about modern day football yet. Times, they be a changin.

Thanks RIP for the good discussion on it.

Luiz in a flat back 4 is what keeps me up at night. The stuff of nightmares right there.

Fair enough, but I agree with you that his height would be a problem, as we saw on some occasions last season, even alongside Luiz and Cahill.  I'm not sure that we'd be swapping to a 4 at the back anyway, as the 3 worked well and it is reportedly Conte's preferred formation.

3-5-2 :

-----------------------Courtois---------------------------

-----------Azp--------D.Luiz---------VVD---------------

Conti------Kante--Bakayoko--O.Dembele-------Sandro

-----------------Belotti-------Hazard----------------------

Subs: Fabregas, Matic, Alonso, Moses, Pedro, Cahill, Christensen

I have to say, a starting eleven without an English player leaves a sour taste in my mouth and doesn't sit well with me, I don't think it's right, others might disagree. Tammy is off to Swansea on loan, I'd keep a couple of English players around at least.
