a brilliant substitution, putting essien at right back and bringing joe in attacking 4-3-3 formation...it completely changed the game, we started playing proper footy and played them off the park...jose is the special one and proved why there is no one better at changing the game from the dug-out...he can't go anywhere...he's ours and no-one can have him...so there!

Wasn't it just.At times during the first half, I was thinking we lacked imagination and that vital thrust that goes with a bit of extra speed .. in the second half though, Valencia couldn't live with us .. and unless I'm mistaken we are the FIRST English team to ever win at their ground. COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's part of Mourinho's talent. He's capable of changing things, and has done so many times. You could argue that if he'd picked the right side in the first place, then things wouldn't need changing, but that would be churlish on an evening like this icon_lol.gif

Brilliant second half performance, Valencia simply couldn't compete. Best I've seen us play in f*ckin' ages!

we were excellent second half, and jose deserves credit for choosing joe despite the lengthy lay-off, and for keeping essien on, but I must add that playing the diamond from the start was an error.

diamond wasn't doing too badly...they only had five minutes of play in the first half and I think jose went out with the gameplan of keep it tight, quiet the crowd and go for it second half and that is how it panned out...we definitely played better footy with 4-3-3 system, but fact it was saved to second half made it a shock and valencia never recovered

Jose really proved today why he is irreplaceable. I hope Roman took note!

Brilliant move from him, and I bet there was a halftime roasting to encourage our players as well.

Beautiful...

We better not lose him!

I I thought that from open play our midfield and cosequently or strikers were really suffering, looked stifled without valencia having to be exceptional, which was bad given the onus to score was on us. with the players we have I really don't think it works against defensive, counter-attacking sides.

I know what you're saying gullit, but i think Jose was just making sure we kept them quiet and the crowd before going for it big time...we still had 60% possession in the first half...them scoring didn't really change the tie...in fact the whole game reminded me of our win over the arse, even the time of the goals was pretty similar

loved the way he gatecrashed itv's interview with jt and essien to give them a big hug and roared like a nutter icon_lol.gif

Saw it, he means it and is quality, he is irreplaceable, regardless of trophies!! ( he wins them aswell!!)

If Roman A sacks Jose M this summer it will be a classic CFC shooting ourselves in the foot situation again.

"Plus ca change, mais la meme chose"

Or sump'n like that.

CFC never do it the easy way.

Remember Eddie McReadie.

Incridble result . But there are those within Chelsea Football Club who will be livid with the result . Those who want J.M. to fail , to give them a reasonable excuse to show him the door . F**k , em , he's our , yes our manager and its up to us to voice our anger and revultion with the way the club is treating him . If we do go on to win the C.L. it will be extra special and more enjoyable than i can ever imagine . The man is top drawer .

Have to say, that performance ranks as one of the best I have witnessed, taking into account the quality of the opposition.

Other than that brief spell in the first half when we could easily have gone 2 or 3 down, and the one moment in the second when their sub had a great chance at 1-1 but fired the ball wide, we were pretty much in completed control. EVERYONE played their part - they all deserve credit. Yet another great result for Mourinho to add to his cv. It's hard to put into words just how good this bloke is. With him at the helm you just get the feeling that anything is possible. He is a legend and we cannot afford to lose him.

Looking forward though, I'm worried about how many of our key players are on yellows and who will miss what if they pick up another in the first leg of the semi? We saw what happened when we went to Anfield in the League with an under strength side and I'll be gutted if we go out because of having to field a weakened team. And IF we do win the semi, what happens about cards for the final? Do they get wiped unless it's a red?

Fantastic display from the boys last night.

We love Jose, and the players do as well. Did you see where Michael Essien went straight after the final whistle ?, straight across to Jose. The guys a genius, we know it, the players know it, surely the board can't be stupid enough to let him go, can they ?

watched the highlights on ITV after the match again, showed jose coming out after the game had finished with the chelsea fans left in the stadium, clapping and blowing kisses at them, its why we love him so much icon_lol.gif

Jose is a legend for sure.. I loved hearing all the yelling and celebrating in the background, coming from the changerooms, during Jose's interview.

Don't be stupid enough to let Jose leave 128.gif ... We all love him! I struggle to think of anyone who could replace him.

Unfortunately, Jose is Latin, and with that is the big MACHO thing. He is much too stubborn to break the ice with Roman, and that will likely lead to him leaving at the end of this season.

Too bad, but that is likely what will happen.
