Chelsea FC Women (CFCW) today announces that from the 2026/27 season the first team will play all Women’s Super League matches at Stamford Bridge.

Following consultation with the Chelsea Women players, partners, our Fan Advisory Board (FAB) and other CFCW fan groups, the women's team will make the iconic ground its permanent home. The legendary stadium, in the heart of west London and long-standing home to 40,000 passionate football fans, will welcome the eight-time WSL champions and supporters from September.

Women’s football has grown exponentially in recent years, thanks to participation at a grassroots level and fans watching the action live, week-in and week-out. CFCW’s loyal fanbase at Kingsmeadow has played its part in that trajectory. Kingsmeadow has been the club’s home for almost a decade; it made CFCW the first women’s team to own their own stadium. The beloved stadium will continue to be a part of the CFCW journey, hosting more academy matches from next season and giving the next generation of Blues a place to forge their footballing careers.

Through the Fan Choice Pilot, supporters can enjoy alcohol at their seats across most of the stadium, excluding the designated alcohol‑free sections in West Lower 1 and 2.

I'll renew but still to decide whether I'll buy a ST in the West Lower or in the Shed Lower. Probably the former as don't fancy standing for the whole game. Comes from having a dodgy knee.

A couple of seasons ago Spurs men's and women's teams played at the Tottenham Stadium on the same day. There was a gap of about 90 minutes between the two matches. I wonder if the Chelsea men's and women's team may do the same.

Have renewed my ST. It will be in the West Lower. At least I'll be able to enjoy some of the games at the Bridge!

Chelsea Women to make debut in World Sevens Football

In an exciting first in the calendar for Chelsea FC Women, we can reveal today we are entering a team into the World Sevens Football tournament being held in London later this month.

The event is a seven-a-side competition that promises to be fast, fierce and action-packed and it is being held in our city for the very first time. The venue is Brentford’s Gtech Stadium and the dates are Thursday 28 to Saturday 30 May. The other teams taking part will be coming from Aston Villa, Everton, Leicester City, London City Lionesses, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

Commenting on her side’s participation, Sonia Bompastor said: ‘World Sevens Football presents an exciting opportunity for our team to test ourselves against world-class opposition in a unique and highly competitive environment.

‘As only the second European edition of the tournament - and the first to be staged in London - it's a fantastic occasion for our supporters to see the team in action one final time before the players head off for a well-earned summer break following a demanding season.

‘We are looking forward to being part of what promises to be a brilliant event for our players and fans alike.’

Anita Asante, former Chelsea defender and W7F Player Advisory Council member, added: ‘The WSL is one of the most competitive and exciting leagues in the world, and this line-up really reflects that. What’s special about the World Sevens format is how it brings out a different side of the game; it’s faster, more open, and gives players more opportunities to express themselves. Fans are going to see top players and teams in a completely new light across what will be an exciting three days of football.’

Sarah Cummins, CEO of World Sevens Football, explained: ‘Beyond the action on the pitch, we’re creating a unique environment, from high-energy supporter decks just feet from the action, to premium hospitality and cabana experiences, giving fans more ways than ever to enjoy the game. Chelsea have three matches scheduled - Thursday 28 May at 3pm versus Everton, at 8pm that same day versus Leicester, and at 6pm verus London City Lionesses on Friday 29 May. The semi-finals and final are on Saturday 30 May.

Those penalties were schocking.

I think that the Charlton Women's team play their home games at the Valley. If so, I'll go to the Valley when we play there. It will give me an opportunity to go to The River Ale House pub which is not far from the Valley and always has a great choice of beers available.
