Missed the game but from I've read a soft goal they gave away. Why can't players play to the whistle and Sakala missed a sitter. Looks like there will be lots of changes in the summer. Been an awful season for Chelsea and Rangers.

One of my cousins was at the game and it's his birthday today. That's his birthday ruined.

It's been grim - hoping for better times next season, hope you're keeping the faith through it all!

Yes, it's been grim. Here's to better times next season. Yes, keeping the faith. Hope you are as well. Can't give up supporting Chelsea and Rangers. In the blood and as they say: We Are The People.

Years ago I used to think Rangers and Celtic were deliberately kept apart until the final . They seemed to play each other in finals a lot ?

Was that the case or did I imagine it ?

It used to be the joke that the Rangers and Celtic balls in the draw bag were warm so those doing the draw knew how to keep them about.

I was at the Scottish Cup Final in 1989. Unfortunately Celtic won 1-0. Ray Wilkins was due to play in the game but was injured.

Yeah the " warm balls" I had heard about before.😙

Ray was liked by everyone he played for , I heard he got a great send off in his last game for Rangers. He's sadly missed , a great player and a special human being . RIP

Edit

Just watched his send off after the game v Dunfirmline.

Very very emotional

Agree, liked by everyone he played for. Even though he was at Rangers for a couple of years was greatly admired by the fans. His goal against Celtic on 1988 is one of the best ever at Ibrox. When he played at Hibs for a short while towards the end of his career he was given a great reception.

One of the guys I go to the games with met Ray in one of the pubs near the Bridge about a week before Ray passed away and had a good chat with my friend.

They didn’t play against each other in a Scottish Cup Final from 1928 until 1963.! They then played against each other in 1966, 69,71, 73, 77 and 1980.
However Scottish Cup Finals usually had huge crowds most years from the early 1920s until the mid 1970s.

Thanks for info. I've got an old  Rangers book , I thought that when I first read it they seemed to play in finals against each other throughout history! Probably one of the two  reached the final most years ?

Mind you , seems they put it right from 1966 !

There was also the Scottish League Cup which started just after the Second World War.

In addition  were also more ‘local’  Cup Finals such as The Glasgow Cup, Glasgow Charity Cup. Both were taken quite seriously by both until roughly the mid 1960s.

Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield, Alfredo Morelos, Allan McGregor and Filip Helander will all leave Rangers this summer, the club have confirmed.

The quintet are all out of contract and tributes will be paid to them at Wednesday's home game with Hearts.

Rangers say long-term injury casualty Steve Davis, whose deal is also ending, "remains in discussions to continue working with the club's medical team to support his return to full fitness".

Morelos and Kent have been off the boil in the last few months. McGregor has been a great servant of the club but all good things come to an end. I wonder if he'll be kept on in a coaching role. As for the Ulster Pirlo another great servant to the club. Again, could he be part of the coaching team.

Soft goal to concede at the end. One game to go and then the departure of five players. I wonder if any others will leave. Can see a few clubs showing an interest in Arfield and Morelos. Perhaps Chelsea should put in a bid for Morelos. A good player. Can't decide if he or Diego Costa is the bigger nutter. It's a close call.
