As life will have it, Argentina and Napoli see their teams win the title right after the death of Maradona.

It would be quite the fairy tale and then you consider all the near misses to the Juve juggernaut denying their legends like Hamsik, Insigne and co a title, especially 2018 when they were touching distance and bottled it.

Milan denied at Leece, 9 points clear.. 🥳

As Torino are my favourite Italian team. Juventus being beaten 5-1 by Napoli was nice to see!😀

I heard that Juventus while being the most popular club in Italy is at the same time the second most popular in their own city!

Juventus have been docked 15 points following an investigation into the club's past transfer dealings, Italy's football federation (FIGC) has confirmed.

The FIGC says Juve used transfers to artificially boost their balance sheet.

Juventus had been in third place but the penalty will drop them to 11th.

The sanction comes after the club's board of directors, including president Andrea Agnelli and vice-president Pavel Nedved, resigned in November.

The FIGC has also hit Agnelli and the club's former chief executive Maurizio Arrivabene with long bans.

The Turin-based club were initially acquitted in an investigation in April 2022.

Juventus have denied any wrongdoing. Their next league game is at home to Atalanta on Sunday.

Torino drew 2-2 away with Empoli yesterday. Not a bad result, as Empoli are only a point behind and two places below in the table.

Juventus going down 2-0 at home to Monza and AC Milan being hammered 5-2 at home by Sassulo.
Lazio and Fiorentina drew 1-1 and Napoli currently 1-0 ahead at home to Roma.

What an unbelievable finish to the Napoli game, massive 3 points, that late equaliser for Roma was going to be a real test of their title credentials.. and they passed!

The first goal by Osimhen was incredible.

Torino went down 1-0 away to AC Milan on Friday evening.

Roma drawing 1-1 away with Lecce yesterday.

Juventus winning 1-0 at home to Fiorentina today.

Napoli currently are 1-0 up at home to Cremonese.

Victor Osimhen scores for Napoli Victor Osimhen has scored 19 goals in all competitions for Napoli this season

Serie A leaders Napoli moved 18 points clear at the top of the table thanks to a routine away victory over Sassuolo.

Napoli scored after only 12 minutes through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, shooting low into the corner after a fine run.

Armand Lauriente hit the post for the hosts, before Victor Osimhen hit the woodwork for Napoli.

Osimhen made it 2-0 after 33 minutes when he powerfully shot on the turn and beat Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli at his near post.

Osimhen has now scored in seven successive Serie A matches for Napoli, who are trying to become Italian champions for only the third time and for the first time since 1989-90.

The visitors thought they had added a third goal in injury time through Giovanni Simeone, but it was ruled out after a video assistant referee check showed there was an offside.

Napoli have only lost one league game all season and have 62 points from 23 matches, with second-placed Inter Milan on 44 points.

Inter reduced the gap on Saturday when they beat Udinese 3-1  home.

That points deduction for Juve simply wasn’t enough, they’ve still got a real shot at Europe. Pointless. 10 points seems like a lot at the moment, but Lazio, Roma, Atalanta are all clubs prone to dropping points often.

mourinho got a 10.000 euro fine

Jose Mourinho said Roma have only themselves to blame for their defeat to Cremonese, but warned he could ‘take legal action’ against fourth official Marco Serra. ‘I won’t get into the fact he’s from Turin and on Sunday we play Juventus.’

The Giallorossi had the opportunity to go into joint second place with a victory at the Stadio Zini, only to emerge empty-handed after a Frank Tsadjout half-volley and Daniel Ciofani penalty.

A very good 1-0 win for Roma against Juventus yesterday.

No emotion or celebration from Mourinho, he knows they f**ked up so badly losing to Cremonese, puts a damper on the Juve win knowing how beneficial it ‘could’ have been.
