Lofty Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Ben Sahar and Scott Sinclair are both included in tonight's game, and now that the title race is over, there's surely a better than average chance of them both getting a game. From BBC Sport Chelsea will again be without Didier Drogba and Arjen Robben, both having missed Sunday's draw at Arsenal. Boss Jose Mourinho has added young strikers Scott Sinclair and Ben Sahar to the squad to face the champions. Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs are among several players who will be rested as Manchester United keep one eye on the FA Cup final. With the Premiership title sealed, Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to make several changes. Chelsea (from): Cech, Cudicini, Hilario, Ferreira, Geremi, Terry, Boulahrouz, A Cole, Bridge, Essien, Lampard, Makelele, Diarra, Obi, Sinclair, Sahar, Kalou, Wright-Phillips, J Cole. Man Utd (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Heaton, Brown, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Heinze, Evra, Ronaldo, Fletcher, Carrick, Scholes, Eagles, Giggs, Richardson, Rooney, Smith, Solskjaer, Dong, Saha, Lee, Shawcross. John Terry's thoughts on the Guard of Honour here.
Nat Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Why is Boula listed in the team lineup. Getting a straight red on Sunday wouldn't he be automatically suspended for this match?
Lofty Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 It's probably one of the BBC's famous "provisional" squad listings. Noticed they also included Michael Essien in the Champion's League squad when he was suspended.
Maksimov Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Jose apologised to the Winker Apparently Jose wanted to do it quietly without making it a public apologisy(otherwise he would've mentioned it already)...Fall Over Boy apparently has been asked about Jose(ofcourse they have to ask) in the pre-match press conference. I don't know why else would Ronaldo bring it up?
RedRobMol Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 just out of interest, when your lads give those w**kers a guard of honour tonight, as expected, will you lot be applauding them, or giving them stick?
ethicalstrategy Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I'll be giving them applause. If you win the league you deserve it. Once the whistle goes then it's back to business as usual! Doing it for your lot would be a different story! Luckily I don't think we will have to worry about that for sometime - if ever
Lofty Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 I'll be giving them applause. If you win the league you deserve it. Applaud the Mancs? It's against my religion. Anyway. A bit of a milestone for JT tonight: If on the field from the outset, John TERRY will be making his 200th start in a Chelsea shirt.
undertow Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Anyway. A bit of a milestone for JT tonight: If on the field from the outset, John TERRY will be making his 200th start in a Chelsea shirt. 200th start in the league.

Gem Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Stupid tackle by Mikel, reacted to Smith not getting booked for a tackle from behind.
The Brit Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 crap game as expected not helped by utd sitting back and not doing anything...what have they got to lose?
Backbiter Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 crap game as expected not helped by utd sitting back and not doing anything...what have they got to lose? 100% agree. They are in an incredibly negative formation. Dismal to watch.
sweet waffle Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Stupid tackle by Mikel, reacted to Smith not getting booked for a tackle from behind. Plus the other bad tackle that Smith inflicted on him prior as well!! Smith always looks ready to dive in 2 footed, he must have been given lessons in tackling from Scholes. My worst fear other than losing, is that Graham "3 yellows" Poll knows that this game is more or less meaningless and may well take it upon himself to grab the headlines by sending off one of our boys. To think if things had turned out differently he could've been in charge of one of the most important games of our season, not a pleasant thought.
Backbiter Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Useless game. Poll up to his usual standards. The worst Manure team I've ever seen. Seriously, of their starting lineup, would anyone be worth a place in our squad? And noone say Heinze who's gone downhill incredibly fast. To be fair Brown did well tonight and O'Shea's not bad as a utilty player, but the rest are dire. We should have stuck 5 past them.
Lofty Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 Crap game. On the bright side. The result didn't really matter and our unbeaten home record is still intact - I'd have hated us to lose it to those scumbags.
The Brit Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 brown breaks sinclair's metatarsal...dirty northern bast*rds
Maksimov Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Everton still needs to win to make sure they get into UEFA Cup next season, so we need to be careful. It won't be an easy match. I'd hate to see Everton end our run one match short of Pool's record.
Lofty Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 brown breaks sinclair's metatarsal...dirty northern bast*rds sh*t. Ain't that effing typical. Scummy Northern toerags.
clubhappy Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Game was dreadful but it was worth watching Essien , he's a class act , as for the round of applause , i think its pure b*****ks , ok Unired deserved the title but its getting too much like Rugger . Could you imagine Chelsea applauding Leeds onto the pitch after they won the league in 1974 , not a f*****g chance .
