January 10, 20233 yr Tad annoying that the game is on the same day as the men playing Palace. Do I lend my season ticket to someone and buy a ticket for the women's game or go to the Bridge? Decisions, decisions.

Go watch a sh*t mens side barely turn up and lose to a worse Palace side or go and enjoy yourself? See you at The Emirates then mate
January 10, 20233 yr Author Kerr or Aubameyang? Reiten or Sterling? Bright or Koulibaly? .... See if someone can borrow your ST for a day @Boyne

January 11, 20233 yr Arsenal (Second) vs Chelsea (Top) Sunday 15th January 2023, Emirates Stadium. We sold out our allocation weeks ago, but tickets are still available through Arsenal. So far more than 40,000 seats have been sold: - https://www.eticketing.co.uk/arsenal/EDP/Event/Index/3032?position=3 BBC preview (UK only): - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0dqgkkd/the-football-news-show-the-wsl-returns TV UK: Sky TV Outside the UK: The FA Player (https://faplayer.thefa.com/home/all)
January 11, 20233 yr I wonder if anyone here is headed to The Emirates this weekend to watch their first ever live women's football match? If so I'd love to read your honest opinion of the game afterwards.

Go watch the team thar actually gives a sh*t about you and our club. Having said that though this is the game we will use to pay tribute to Luca, and for that reason alone I would be going to the Bridge. The current team are an embarrassment bit the fans can give Luca the love and send off he deserves. Edited January 11, 20233 yr by axman2526

Good point about fans and the club paying tribute to Luca which is probably why I'll go to the Bridge even though the football is poor and the women are playing a damn sight better. Also I'd probably have to pay someone to borrow my ST! Begs the question though: if people are being encouraged to attend women's football matches why is it nigh impossible to attend both this Sunday? Why not have one match kick-off at noon and the other at say 3.30pm. That would give people plenty of time to travel from one ground to another. Surprised that the club, football authorities and broadcasters haven't thought of that. Me being sarcastic! Edited January 11, 20233 yr by Boyne

By the time Chelsea put the official away tickets on sale a lot of Blues fans had already booked seats in random areas of the ground. Can't say for certain that Arsenal would have offered a larger number of 'away' tickets, but it's hard to imagine that they would not have done. As it is, there will be probably be a four-figure number of Chelsea fans mixed in with Arsenal supporters around the stadium. This isn't a problem in women's football. Well not up to now it hasn't been. Tickets are still available through Arsenal. Edited January 11, 20233 yr by OhForAGreavsie

I understand the need to give the broadcasters the biggest games in the timeslots they want but it really feels like more could be done on this. Edited January 11, 20233 yr by OhForAGreavsie

I hadn't realised that we had taken far too small an allocation and fans had already booked tickets throughout the ground. Hopefully a lesson learnt by the club. I was at the Emirates a few years back for a League Cup game and Chelsea was allocated 9,000 tickets. Arsenal didn't know what had hit them. A bit like the game in 1984. As you mention in your other post about clashes of games, nothing changes. Probably too late for this season but hopefully something that can be rectified next season.

I was there too with my daughter (she's still alive so you can deduce that of course she supports Chelsea 🙂) and her, Arsenal supporting, then boyfriend. One of KDB's few Chelsea outings Sad. I met them at Highbury & Islington and, during the walk to the stadium, I mentioned to her that we'd be more or less alone before the end of the game. Sure enough, nearly all of the reds had gone long before the final whistle. The boyfriend wanted to go too, but was stuck there with us. 🙂 Fortunately he's gone altogether now. She found a proper lad. Together they have just had a baby. Another Blue of course. The little one just doesn't know it yet. 🙂 Edited January 12, 20233 yr by OhForAGreavsie
