August 12, 20232 yr Reports are coming in we're looking at him to bolster our goalkeeping ranks assuming the Kepa to Real rumours come to fruition. https://tbrfootball.com/chelsea-look-for-title-winning-goalkeeper-to-replace-kepa/ Thoughts? I know some Leicester fans who were luke warm towards him for a season or two before he left, and his form in Nice has been "inconsistent" by all accounts. Still, with his experience he shouldn't be the worst backup. As long as wages are low and the fee is almost non-existent it could be an adequate move.
August 12, 20232 yr Ruledout apparently. Navas would be a good back up although DDG would be free and is 4 years younger. Not sure about wages though. Sanchez and De Gea wouldn't be too sad actually. Get European football this season and then go big for an elite number 1 for next season.
August 12, 20232 yr Provided this wage demands were in keeping with our new structure then id consider de gea a shrewd free signing for the season to compete with sanchez.
August 13, 20232 yr Not a fan of De Gea or Schmeichel, but what feasible options are out there? Still prefer them above Lloris. He is the only Goalkeeper I 100% don't want. I so hope that his past with Poch will not influence it.

August 13, 20232 yr His attitude and ego have caused problems at Nice. He does things his way - training, etc - and that's that. Not a popular chappie. Had a decent season in goal, Nice's problems lay elsewhere on the pitch with their recruitment akin to a retirement home for faded once-weres and under-achievers like Ross Barkley. Is this the same Nice that’s owned by Man Utd’s saviour Jim Ratcliffe?

August 15, 20232 yr I have always liked him as a keeper. He is a good stopper but mainly a leader at back. At his peak days anyway. I see him more as a Green type backup at this point and not someone who takes the role from Sanchez. Navas is a good shout. He would actually challenge Sanchez. 100% not to DeGea or Lloris. Both horrible playing out from the back. Someone mentioned Manuel Neuer in a podcast. Shame he is injured. He was banned from playing initially because he didn't come back from holiday or something along the lines. He would actually be a brilliant option even at 36-37 years old. Anyway not going to happen. Anyway I think we need to look at an experienced player and not a young one here.
