Maresca hasn’t been in charge for just 5 games though?

I could have been more specific yet it was the opening 5 games of this season with a condensed pre-season break.

We have had it before though under TT with the U formation passing across the back line until someone lost their marker and we could find them. Almost like watching paint dry.

Yet with both we have won trophies and yet Maresca has a much younger team and with several injured players at any time.

C'est la vie.

One won the champions league dominating A. Madrid, Porto, Real Madrid and Man City on the way.

The other won the third tier conference league beating Copenhagen, Legia Warsaw, Djurgardens and Real Betis.

Maresca’s Chelsea conceded as many goals against Warsaw as Tuchel’s Chelsea conceded in all legs against the above 4 teams.

Please don’t ever compare the two achievements like they’re equal again.

Maresca has been in charge for 75 games. What are you talking about?

I am saying if we had a settled defence we might be second or first in this season.

I find it strange how the manager still has to resort to playing defenders in midfield (be it Gusto or James). Apart from Essugo (who is not a starter), we don't have injuries in midfield, so why are we playing defenders there?

Is it some sort of genius tactic that a football philistine like myself can't understand?

Its an average manager trying to show how clever he is, totally unnecessary and hasnt worked at all. He`s over complicating things by using players in the wrong position, asking them to do things they cant for no reason other than "Look at me" bo**ocks. Pick a formation, pick a way to play that suits your squad, put the best players in each position. Is a simple game complicated by idiots.

Mourinho used Zouma in midfield on occasions when he won the league in his 2nd stint at the Bridge.

@Mod Worrying that you keep a file on me. What next? Asking your Met bodyguard to dig up information on me? Away to the Royal Lodge and Sarah with you!

I would like to say some elaborate story, but the truth is I clicked on the thread it was in and hadn’t seen the thread since July, so my browser saw that post as new to me!

What’s interesting about that, is that it fit nicely in the post I read before! It’s also interesting to find out that I don’t read a lot of the threads when they are updated! smile

BODYGUARD: "Pssst @Mod! There's a new post!"

@Mod: "Feck off, I'm having a snooze"
