The all round Callista's gaff for a party thread

Whey hey. Grab the Watney's Party Sevens and the Double Diamond and get yourselves round Callista's place pronto. 429.gif

He's having a right old knee's up after tonight's result. The door to the bedsit is open and Blue Is The Colour is belting out of the stereo music centre. rainbowdance.gif

You'll spot Callista straight off, he's the one standing on the formica foldaway table, singing "we're gonna win the league", and wearing a pair of plastic tits.

As you know he's always a happy bunny but I've never seen him like this before. He said the best thing about tonight for him was that the Mancs, by all accounts, played some truly scintillating attacking football, and still only managed a draw. icon_lol.gif Here's one he told me earlier. What's the difference between a triangle and Man Utd?

A triangle has got three points!

Lay off Callista you lot.

She (or he) may be a pessimist at times, but sounds like an intelligent person, we can never have enough of those around here.

Breathe easy Cal, i'm on your side. icon_lol.gif

Thanks. And yes just to clear things up so the rest of you can all insult me properly he's a SHE. icon_wink.gif

BackinBlue:

Anyone who doesn't believe in their team coming back from a goal down with an hour left in a match can't be that intelligent.

I'm afraid I must beg to differ that my IQ points are on the decline, but then you knew I would say that right?

Next time, if we are one goal down no matter how many minutes have been played, I'll make sure to keep my trap shut about our chances of recovery. My negative comments seem to be having a devastating effect on certain people on this forum, god knows why they touch such a nerve. You could always do this icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif and think "typical bloody hysterical woman". icon_cool.gif

FYP, no need to thank me.

And yes, I have been known to throw hysterical fits when it comes to Chelsea I guess thats what happens when you believe in your team. icon_rolleyes.gif

Sorry but I don't feel vulnerable or a tool actually.

Just confused why everyone is so annoyed and aggressive with me for merely giving an opinion in lthe match thread that doesn't concur with theirs that's all. icon_confused.gif

Obviously I'm pleased we came back and won the game in style but if we carry on defending like we are currently doing, it will get progressively harder to do.

But if everyone else thinks that will never be a problem and we can always recover then fair enough.

Depending upon the number of goals scored perhaps we can but I would rather we didn't try to prove the point in every game that's all.

I'm not sure why you can't believe in your team but also express negative views at times about their lack of performance during a game without getting flayed alive. I feel like I've mugged their mother in the street the way some people are reacting!

Any way if people want to set up a thread each time I disagree with them to show me the error of my ways then hell I'm game.

You were practically booing your own team after 30 mins(ala Sp*rs fans) in a match saying you cant see how we can win the game. And Ihink most people on this forum are open to negative views or constructive criticism of the team or the first half in this particular instance but giving up hope in the team and predicting losses in the second game of the season is a different thing altogether.

About the defense, yes it has looked in shambles at times but lets not forget we are missing our best central defender and are playing without Maka. The 4-4-2 doesn't suit Maka and any Chelsea team without him wil by default be more vulnerable defensively. And lets not forget, we are trying to play a bit more expansive game this season if JM is to believed which will mean giving up a little bit of defensive stability of previous seasons. However, a shabby defence isn't a good enough reason to start booing your team with 30 mins into the match IMO.

P.S: Posts praising the team and players doesn't get you banned here. Just to let you know.

I really still don't get why people are so upset about this one comment.

At that point in time we didn't look we were going to win that game, what is so terrible about admitting that?

If we had been playing well and looked in the game during that period fine but we looked totally out of it.

I don't know how this equates to some kind of sinful betrayal of all things Chelsea.

If I had made such a comment in the second half I would understand the point possibly of starting a thread such as this to take the piss but I can't get over how sensitive some people are.

Look in future, just let me know when I am allowed to voice the opinion that the team are not going to get the three points due to the paucity of their play since I'm obviously not experienced enough to know when that's justified.

bjd:

Bet youre a riot down the boozer.

Well if I'm no fun down the pub then I wouldn't want to work with a few here if their reaction to one comment generates this much fuss. If I got annoyed, every time someone said or wrote something I didn't agree with or thought was misguided, my boss would have sacked me by now.

I think it's best if we just agree to disagee don't you?

I'm an overly negative, hysterical, misery guts and a traitor to the Chelsea cause and the rest of you are not.

Fine.

Callista

I think most of this is a bit tongue in cheek - I wouldn't get too worked up about it!

You are rightin that we were atrocious in the first half yesterday however if there is one thing we have shown time and time and time again over the past few seasons it is that we are not a team that lets its head drtop when we go behind, wven when we are playing badly we still have that 'refuse to give in mentality' - ina strange way we are sometimes more at rism od dropping points when we are leading by one goal then we are behind by a goal. I know that sounds odd but what I mean is that when we are behind by a goal we seem to be able to roll our socks up and turn thigns round but when we are leading by a goal we tend to coast a little and allow teams back into the game rather than finishing them off.

The real Callista is revealed at last! Seen here fretting about the Liverp**l game... icon_wink.gif

PS: I'm with Loz, Callista, most of the comments are just having a laugh, so don't take them to heart! Negative comments are part of the 'chat' scene, and you have to learn to take the good with the bad. Why, if I had a dollar for every time someone had slagged me off on the CSR over the years, I'd have $4,787,352.20. And that's just from 'chatting' with G4!!!

Callista, people here are a bit sensitive about massive Chelsea criticism. Can't understand why icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyway, while some here might be sincere in their annoyance over your comments, most are just having a laugh.

And those who are slightly p*ssed off won't have a grudge against you in the future. Here we discuss, label eachother mental and then move on icon_wink.gif

Anyway, I've had worse "fights" than yours with people here and we still get along just fine...I think.

Oh, and if you're ever in real trouble just stroke Loz the right way and he'll protect you Whistle.gif

Groan. What a night. I'm too old for parties like that. beerfunnel.gif

Last thing I remember was sitting on the fold-up Z-bed at 4:20 am, with a jam jar full of Tennants's Super, while Callista and a few of the students heated up a tin of Heinz sausage and beans on the 2-ring electric cooker.

Funniest part of the bash was Callista's Bull Terrier's arse winning the Wayne Rooney like-a-like competition. My arse came a very close second.

One compliant though. The music was all a bit samey. Happy House - Siouxsie & The Banshees. Happy Radio - Edwin Starr. Happy Talk - Captain Sensible.
