Irrelevant. He has won things but the point is: Where is he taking us?

I have agreed and disagreed with him so many times but one thing is for sure; I'm like him.

Sad to see him go but it was probably the right thing to do.

A legend to be and I will miss him. After all, he gave us 6 trophies in 3 seasons, that's 2 ever season. Not bad if you ask me.

no, a case of recognising his success- he had flaws and I was one who chose to not be oblivious to them. but I'm not looking for an argument here.

What a shock ... I was going to bed, before I got a message about Mourinho leaving. At first I thought it was some kind of sick prank, but no, it's actually true.

Anyway, I just want to give a big thank to Mourinho. He is, and always will be a Chelsea Legend. He has done exactly what he was asked to do, and what (I believe) the majority of the supporters wanted him to do, and that was to win trophies.

Mourinho did a fantastic job, and no matter who we'll bring in, that man will get a huge task to follow, because to deliver better than Mourinho, he will have to win trophies, as well as getting the players to play great and entertaining football.

Thanks for the titles Mourinho (really), but it was time. Oh well.

He did take over a good squad already capable of challenging. Gradually he removed players whom he felt weren't crucial who would be identified with his predecessor. The only big name he felt was needed was his. Destroyed the balance in the squad, left us with huge bills to pay, and huge problem making goals. Thanks for that also.

Loved him from the moment he stepped into the Bridge. Loved his attitude, loved his passion for the game, and loved how much he loved everything around him. He really made the club feel as if it was his club, and as if it was him who was in charge of everything, not Roman. He brought us 2 Premierships in a row. After long 50 years. Most of us here weren't even born for the one not won by Jose. Also, it was Jose's team that made the Chelsea Football Club what it is today. It was his team that made Chelsea FC a team every other team in Europe would fear. It was his team that knocked out the great Barcelona out of the Champions League. It was his team that twice reached the semi's of the Champions League, losing once by the mistake of the refs, and second time on penalties. It was his team that made its voice heard all over the world. To some of the new Chelsea supporters that might not be much. But I'll tell you, when I became a Chelsea fan (good 13-14 years now), the stuff I just listed were just a dream. No one would have believed it then. To those who supported Chelsea even longer, it's even a bigger achievement. But at the end of the day, unfortunately, a little of it matters. He created another big club on the face of Europe. He could not take it to the final level and make it the biggest, for whatever reason that may be. We can just guess. At the end, it doesn't even matter. What matters is that he's the one who started it all. And for that we thank you Jose and wish you the best. I'll always be a fan of yours.

My father was there to see us win the League in '55, he never thought he'd see us win it again. I certainly never believed I'd see Chelsea win the top title in my lifetime. Your reign saw us have the most succesful period the club has ever known. You truly were the "Special One".

Aside from the success, he was the most entertaining manager we (by that I mean the world of football) ever had. Only Old Big 'Ed surpasses Jose in the true nutter stakes. As a guy who's never loved his style of football, I will say:

- He's the best man manager we've ever had

- Best team motivator

- Best professional coach

- Most committed to the cause

- Best for column inches (God, the press are going to miss him)

- Most uncompromising (a good thing, on the whole)

Personally, I still hold with the view that he never wanted Ballack or Sheva and the writing was on the wall in summer '06.

A very sad sad day for chelsea but inevitable given that he'd been effectively hamstrung by those who own and run the club since the end of last season in respect to transfer/player selction/buying. Or is that too much of a generalisation for you Qaz?

He had his faults but was the best thing that ever happened to this club in recent times.

Wonder who's prepared to take the pain from on high and the tasty shilling now. Hopefully for some on here he's a true footballing "aesthete" and only knows how to pluck the harp to the one tune being "the beautiful game" et al. Oh by the way enrico, it was your money was it? And perhaps you could name us the players that was sold in Jose's time (and that Jose sanctioned) that was not past his best, continually injured or for personal reasons had to leave.
