What happens next?

It will take a while, of course, to get over this mornings shock. I was left dumbfounded when I read that Jose isnt with us anymore. The man is a legend, he has transformed this club and brought out the best in many players. Like all managers, some of his signings were suspect. The way the team played this season wasn't great - but to not have him around anymore is very disheartening.

The question now, is, what happens next? Does Clark/Grant takeover ? Do we get a new high profile manager ? Capello has stated he doesnt want England, Hiddink is with Russia.

I think this can turn out to be a VERY difficult season for us and we might end up with nothing at the end of it.

I heard the news about 11 last night, to be honest I was in a state of shock and had to go out for a walk, my local boozer was still open but I couldn't face it. Gotta say I sat on a wall and cried. When Eddie Mac went I was stunned to say the least, when Luca went to be honest I half expected it, as for Ruud well Jose's departure nearly had the same impact.

What i've got to say is I knew Jose wasn't going to be here next season but his departure at this stage of the season is complete madness. I've been posting to the extent that slowly we are getting our old Chelsea back, the truth maybe is that perhaps we have always had it.

Roman came in , splashed his cash for a couple of years, Chelsea came fashionable so to speak but the truth is the prawnies and a few thousand Arsenal, Fulham and whoever fans came to watch us. We haven't got the tradition of say Man Utd or Liverpool we will never have it. Kenyon was brought in to spread the brand and it was a plastic move that was deemed for failure. Despite thousands of members around the world we NEVER sell out unless it's a big game - they go on general sale.

Chelsea live by their true fans, they have always treated us with contempt, as they have their managers over the years. but it's the time for us to stand together and pull the players through. They are gutted believe me.

Many years ago we played Leicester away and sang Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea for virtually the whole game - i'll never forget it.

I'm going on Sunday to Old Trafford, what I hope is that it is repeated for 90 mins there. Then when we play our next home game we show our respect for Jose - Jose Mourinho for 90 mins.

For the future, well to be honest I called it and believe it. We are to have a few barren years, the Championship years are gone. The manager and majority of the team have gone. It's the end of an era ? Nah 3 years aint an era. It's bin a ride, a rollacoaster but a great one and the boys and Jose HAVE created history.

I'd like as i've said for the likes of Scott Sinclair to be brought in and if i'm really honest for Roman to pull the plug and f?ck off back to Russia and let us get back to normality.

As a future manager goes - to bring the kids through, can only be one man Gianfranco Zola.

Agree with that totally - although I prefer Abramovich to Ken Bates - hell, I prefer my ex-mother-in-law to Ken Bates icon_eek.gif

You guys are kidding right?

If Ambramovich didn't come to Chelsea there would never had been a Mourinho era in the first place

We never would have won all the things we have

and it could be argued the club wouldn't exist fullstop.

What normality?

There would be no top players, no Mourinho and no trophies if it wasn't for RA and his money. We were on the brink of bankruptcy when Abramovich took over, i'd take current struggles over being in Leeds' position any day.

Being a Chelsea fan for over 25yrs, that is exactly what normality mean's to me mate.

Like someone already posted, at least it will sort out the prawn sandwich brigade. I reckon we have already lost about 10k

fans back to the Mancs, Arse, and the scousers, and i can't say im sorry for that...

Gotta say I sat on a wall and cried.

Lucky you didn't have a great fall Humpty.

This is probably gonna be way over your head Henry I know, but sometimes that's how it gets to real supporters. They can get all emotional over something that's important to them. Something they've cared pasionately about for most of their lives.

I cried at Wembley in '97 when Wisey and the boys went up the steps to collect that cup after 26 years of nothing. I was with my father, (a lifelong Chelsea supporter), and there were tears in his eyes as well. Imagine that. Two grown men crying. What a pair of tossers eh?

This is probably going to be over your head just, but Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. You know, the egg (Jose is so prophetic) that had a great fall and the kings horses and men fixed him up or something. The comment didn't have much to do with the crying. But yeah, you're a pussy.

Us longer term Chelsea supporters probably do come across as a bit "I prefer the old days when we were sh*te". But it's not that. I think we certainly don't mind sharing "our Chelsea" as long as those we share our club with are like minded, passionate supporters and are willing to take the bad times with the few successful ones. I think the old cliche of you have to have been through the bad times to really enjoy the good is so, so true.

I want us to remain the best club in England and certainly stay in the top 4 for ever more but in a way, it would almost be interesting to see what would happen if we do go through a really bad run. We've lost Mourinho and say we now lost a few big name players and ended up with a less than superstar squad of players. I wonder how many of the JCL's would stick around? Could make all that talk about a move to a 60-70,000 seater stadium pretty redundant.

And then what? Who do you think will buy the club? It will have to be another mega-rich person, and don't think for a minute s/he will not interfere with the running of the club. This is of course if someone else wants to buy the club. It's AFC Wimbledon otherwise.

Man Utd and Liverpool have just been bought out without changing their managers or forcing players upon them!

Alot of premiership clubs have been purchased recently so there'll be no shortage of buyers.

Roman won't sell, he can play with his toy for a while now!

Tad agressive there Henry/Enrico.

Stung? Or your post stunk? Do you link posts with what is quoted before them or do you only look at them individually? You realise sometimes that a post is in reply to what was said before, right? icon_wink.gif
