Here's a list of players I'd love to see playing in our first team week in, week out:

Cech,

Belletti, Terry, Carvalho, Cole

Essien, Lampard, Ballack,

Shevchenko, Drogba, Cole.

:)

Being serious for a second, I'm not really sure of the exact players I'd like to see us sign. On the striker front I'd love to see Pizarro and Shevchenko given more of a chance together, but I wouldn't complain if we signed Anelka and/or Berbatov as well. Or Huntelaar, I'm not fussy.

We've got the best goalkeeper & backup possibly in the world, our right backs imo are just fine and I really rate Ferreria/Belletti, our centre backs are awesome, with Alex as a backup and in left back we're fine too. Centre mid no problem at all, and strikers are okay as long as Drogba stays. The one area we desperately need to sort out is the wingers afaic.

how can you want Fabregas, and at the same time have him down as a person you hate?

Kompany, we were linked with a while back, but think that the signings of Beletti and Ivanovic signal that he (Kompany) is no longer on our radar, and I also question the Alves link because of the signing of the two aforementioned players.

I also think that you have far too many people on your list, as there is no way we could or would sign them all...and no way would they all come to one team where they can't be guaranteed first team football. Villa we have been linked with time and time again, and I hope that we go for him over berbatov and tell spuds to stick their 35 million asking price

i always like Quaresma, i know we were linked with him a while back, just wish we'd sign him. His passess are so good. Or the right back(i think) Boswinga. Ibrahimovic is a given, and Wesley Sniejder-for his great free kicks. there's so many that i'd want....but that's off the top of my head right now..

The only real problem with Quaresma that I can think of is that he dives too much. We got rid of Robben so why buy another diver?

Still, he's a good player icon_wink.gif

Right back - Lahm or Alves

Left back - Chiellini

Def.Midfield - Vanden Borre

Att.Midfield - Diego

Wingers - Ribery & Vicente (I want to see us play an attacking 4-4-2 with real wingers)

Strikers - Huntelaar & Klose

OUT

AVRAM GRANT

Ferreira - no surprises there icon_lol.gif

Ben Haim - ditto

Ashley Cole - never liked him, Bridgey far better

Boulahrouz - like his attitude, just not good enough

Sidwell - nothing against the guy at all, but we need better

Malouda - cuts inside too much to be considered a genuine winger

Joey* - he's getting more selfish every game, his tricks seem to be more important to him than the team is

Lampard* - not the player he was, his passing has got a lot worse, & his set pieces are a nightmare. On the plus side, he can run around a lot and wants to stay with Chelsea forever (so long as they pay him ridiculous wages)

Drogba - I'd love him to stay, but I don't think anything Chelsea say or do will change his mind about leaving

* = if Joey and/or Lamps get back to their best, then obviously they should stay

IN

Defence - Richards(swap for SWP),Ivanovic

Midfield - Modric,Bilyaletdinov

Wingers - Zhirkov(CSKA Moscow,Russia), Alves(yes, i consider him a winger)

Strikers - Anelka,Berbatov

DEFENDERS

Terry, Carvalho, Alex, Ivanovic, A.Cole, Beletti, Bridge, Richards

MIDFIELDERS

Ballack, Modric, Essien, Mikel, Bilyaletdinov

WINGERS

J.Cole, Sinclair, Zhirkov, Alves, Malouda

STRIKERS

Drogba, Berbatov, Anelka, Kalou

* If Drogba leaves, keep Sheva, although he should take a pay cut.

**Don't mind Frank staying but the length of his contract, wages involved and his role within the squad should be subject of serious discussion.

***Maka could still stay and can be used sparingly, unless it's his desire to leave for France or retire.

IN

Defence:Alves or Ivanovich (just any solid FB, who could be better than Fer&Bel)

Richards (as a centre back)

Midfield: Modric

Zhirkov (oh! that`s a good idea for Chelsea, EPL and TV satellites sellers..........ah, of course, he`s great player too, the best `young` player Russia have - strong&fast with high consistiensy and a calm head (the thing Ibrahimovic misses))

Forward: Aguerro

I would like to say Ibrahimovic, but often his head is making wonders.

And we have 20 years old international Dmitry Torbinskii. He plays in Iniesta position and style, central or left midfielder. There is high level of probability he`ll be one of the key players during WC2010 quals.

For you I can say Hiddink rates him very high, Dmitry has also made several key passes during EC2008 quals, in partucular, the latest assist has granted us a ticket to EURO-2008.

Look at him should you have a chance.

I could only dream about "Torbinskiy - Essien - Modric" in the middle few years later.

Some of the things being said in this thread are genuinely astounding, get rid of Frank? WTF!

Yeah, because Lumpy had a poor(ish) last game and Ballack was good, it automatically means Lampard is crap and Ballack world class. Get with the program dude..........

Lampard hasn't just "had a poor(ish) last game", he's had a poorish last two seasons, compared with the way he performed before. Players should be picked on their current form, not their past reputation - this is where both Chelsea and England have gone wrong over the last few years.

Or how about we don't change the entire team and buy in a plethora of mercenaries, in the vain hope that they somehow knit together to form an all guns blazing, score 5 goals every game super team?

Jesus. After all the upheaval, we're in 3rd place, and all cup competitions, and people want us to ship out half the team???

Personally, I would like a striker (Huntelaar or perhaps Villa, depending on whether Didier is leaving and how we intend to play next season) and a young winger OR creative, attacking midfielder (once again depending on next season's formation) as SWP ain't good enough and the jury's out on Malouda. Other than than, I'm perfectly happy with what we have thanks.

Who the f*ck said make all the changes at the same f*cking time???

Speaking for myself, I'd like the changes I suggested to take place over a period of 12 to 18 months - but then, this is all just wishful thinking.

No need to get aggro BB. I think it's fair to say that when someone asks 'who do you want a Chels', they normally mean now, not in the next few years! Who knows which players will be worth buying in 12 months time?

Fair enough if you would like the staggered introduction of those you mentioned, I was more referring to the inital post, which seems to include half of Europe and is exactly the route I don't want to see the club go down (although we have, to a point, done it already.)

I think with Drogba saying, again, that he is wanting to leave in the summer we should go for Anelka now, and Huntelaar in the summer. Add to that Villa, who is from a club in absolute turmoil and is a player who feels that his club "screwed" him out of any transers, then I think we have the makings of a pretty strong strike force.

I think that a midfielder will be added to, and as much as I would like for it to be VDV, I don't think it will be. Also, with Modric having a vision of biblical proportions about his future, I very much doubt we will sign him, so the question is, who would replace lampard in the midfield should we not meet his demands? A creative midfielder added to the ranks of malouda, Kalou, SWP (should he stay) and J Cole, will be a great link up to the forwards.

With Mikel, Essien, Ballack and possibly lampard, I think we will have a decent enough midfield.

The addition of an RB, should paulo leave (judgement still has to be passed on Ivanovic), and a healthy band of CB's I think will be good enough to seriously challenge on all fronts again!

While i think it's nice to fantasize about the likes of Ronaldinho we may need to take a chance on less known players to add some creativity in the midfield. There's Modric,Diego,VDV, there's also Andrey Arshavin,an attacking midfielder who i have watched closely for several years, one of the everal Russian players worthy to take a look at.

Sometimes it makes more sense to give an opportunity to a younger less known players hungry to prove themselves on the next level.

Also someone like Abdonlahor may solve our problems on the right wing.

That's all down to the manager really.

I wouldn't mind seeing us getting Ricardo Queresma into the club. I think we are in need of a bit of quality out wide and his the most obvious option at the moment.

That’s a great line up, oh Wealthy One, but I’d make the following changes…

Defenders - wouldn’t spend the vast sum required to get Richards, regard Alves as the RB and if he and Belletti are seen as too offensive, Ivanovic and Essien provide good cover.

Midfield - Lamps stays, indifferent on Bilyatdinov, rest perfect.

Wingers - don’t know enough about Zhirkov, but would be content with Joe, Sinclair, SWP and probably Drenthe coming in on a swap with Malouda.

Strikers - Berbatov, Kalou, Huntelaar and, even though it looks like Anelka is coming, I’d have preferred Kenwyne Jones to really bring the age levels down and send the hunger levels up.

Those Russian players i have mentioned aren't likely to end up at Chelsea but the point i was trying to make is we should go for younger, less known players with everything to prove.

I look at Arse and see the likes of Sagna and Eduardo who came out of nowhere, signed for peanuts and are now playing quite well for the side that's on the top of the the league table. I wonder when are we going to see the same at the Bridge. What exactly Arnesen and his mighty scout network are busy doing?

As for Zhirkov here's a clip of what he's capable of, i know everybody looks good on youtube but what i mean is you don't have to always go for the big names to improve the team.
