We have worst fans in the league

The photo could have easily been photoshoped, probably some mug out of their website office, easy to do.

The way the photo has been cropped, it would have been pretty easy to fake it, but would they really go through the trouble? 300.gif

Yes. Its no trouble, 10 minute job.

I've seen the picture before, I'm pretty sure its real.

However, although the girl is being a cute little munchkin, I know what they're potraying the father to be doing..... but plenty of songs require you to put both hands in the air, and with one sweet angel in one, only the other is free.

I'm not saying the guy isn't an utter prick, but nice choice of photo by the editor.

I know it wouldn't take much time to set up the picture and then do the photoshopping, but what would they gain by faking it? conspiracy.gif

Yeah good point.

His arm is straight out as opposed to being titled towards the side though Gem. His cute little daughter is also sticking her finger up at someone and he isn't stopping her.

I'm not saying he's a prick based on that one photo, but nor would I defend the indefensible just because the person's in a Chelsea shirt.

A picture speaks a thousand words Maksimov.

If you're suggesting thats what I'm doing then you are utterly wrong. I'm just saying that a picture captures a mili-second, you see what he's doing before and after then we'll talk. For now, he looks a pillock, and although I do think he is doing the Nazi salute, I'm not going to condem him as I simply don't know.

When you assume, you make an ass of you and me.

ive seen that pic on another site and im sure it was found to have been a fake. something about it doesnt look right to me. his arm wouldnt bend like that if it was straight. do it yourself (make sure no-ones watching. dont want you locked up), your arm just wouldnt bend like that.

Liverpool FC rocked by fan survey

In a shock fan survey issued today, Liverpool FC have been left reeling with the news that their fans are no longer considered 'The Greatest Fans in The World' (TM Clive Tyldesly).

Having rightly claimed that mantle for the last one hundred years, the 'reds' are astonished to see themselve positioned at no.11 in the league, a place equivalent to just being at the top of 'page 2 of Ceefax'.

No amount of witty bantering, dedicated championing of their 'amazing history' nor the occasional tear whilst singing a Gerry and The Pacemakers hit could raise themselves from the stunning slot of averageness.

Equally stunning is the fact that their predilection for gate-storming, mugging children, pub-wrecking, football disasters and general levels of amazing thickness has not given them a coveted 'bottom 3' place.

A club insider stated that the no.11 slot was actually totally in keeping with the management's decision to 'really take ownership of the concept of "football mediocrity"', and follows perfectly the club's selection and performance policies of the last 2 years.

'We're just delighted to have totally average fans' said the insider. 'It really takes the pressure of Rafa and the boys and helps them keep focussed on our very realistic Inter Toto aspirations'.

A quick survey about how 'Kop' fans felt about their position in the table (carried out on their forums today) revealed that 93.6% stated that they felt the result was 'about right'....

to be honest guys, I didn't take much notice of the picture...that wasn't the point I was making...it does look a bit fake mind you...if not the guy is an idiot, but you could get a photo from any club in the land of a bloke doing something similarly offensive...

I was just laughing at the 'not showing appreciation' or whatever for the opposition...i'm also amused at the bottom where members of the mhl are chastised for not being very nice when the opposition take a corner!

Now I'm not any kind of photographic expert, but the clarity of the two main figures compared to the background, the apparent space between those two and the rest of the crowd, and there's an almost visible cutaway type outline around the bloke's outstretched arm. Maybe this is just because the foreground is so much clearer than the background, but it does look rather strange.

Fulham, meanwhile, came in first place. While their supporters are very sporting, the noise level at Craven Cottage is barely audible at times and it’s usually the away supporters that are more vocal.

Using that kind of criteria, it seems to me that coming first is nothing to be proud of.

I know it wouldn't take much time to set up the picture and then do the photoshopping, but what would they gain by faking it?

You don't have to tell me that. icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm just wondering why someone would stoop so low to do such a thing(fake the picture). The person would have to have some personal agenda to have a reason to fake such a picture. That's the only way I see it. 317.gif

I wonder whether it's anything to do with the fact that we are, apparrently, the worst fans in the world?

You probably knew this already, but by decreasing the depth of field you can very effectively limit the objects that are in focus in a photo. Because of the way that the photo is cropped, you can't see any other people from that same row who would be at the same distance from the camera as the man and girl in the picture. So it would be quite easy to fake it as there's no reference to see what sort of depth of field was used when shooting the picture.

Because the background is so out of focus, it does create quite a contrast between the raised arm and the darker background. I reckon the image file has been compressed for web use, and often when you start compressing a file(depending on the type of compression) some unwanted artifacts start to appear at the edges of areas where there's high contrast. By compressing the picture enough, you lose some shades of colour, so the picture doesn't appear as smooth and detailed as the original did.

Obviously it has to be that. Thanks for clearing it out for me. 431.gif

The more i look, the more i think the picture is 99% fake.

The mans arm is distorted as already pointed out, it doesnt like right.

But also the girls left arm doesnt look right, it vanishes into a black hole in the sleeve.

Also if you follow the pitch of the stand, they seem to be stood to high.

I'm pleased to hear it
Im proud of that

Oh please.

I hope the dude in the photo is ashamed, that poor girl :(

Didnt notice the pic - if that isnt a comp, Im a banana
