Chelsea will this week offer AC Milan £20million plus either Nicolas Anelka or Salomon Kalou to lure striker Pato to Stamford Bridge.

Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas has identified the 30-year-old as the perfect wideman to aid Fernando Torres to score goals.

The Brazil international is wanted to form an exciting young front three with Torres through the middle and Daniel Sturridge on the left.

Both Anelka and Kalou will be offered to the Serie A champions as part exchange despite both strikers declaring their interest in staying.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is known as an admirer of Pato but it is understood to be Villas-Boas who wants to push the deal through.

The Chelsea manager believes his pace and finishing ability will dovetail perfectly with Torres and the three, along with Sturridge will terrify all defences.

Pato is an excellent finisher with both feet and potent in the air despite not being the tallest striker around, he scored 14 times in 25 games last season after suffering a spate of niggling injuries.

Ac Milan would resist selling one of their prized assets but the money could be used to lure Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli back to the Italian capital.

This would be huge! A great player that we could really use. Good out wide and in the middle.

I always thought that the Pato rumours were made up because Carlo was our boss. I expected these rumors to disappear after Carlo left.

I would think that Milan would want a lot more than 20 mill and anelka for Pato. I would guess in total they would want a 50 million euro package. Just a guess tho.

Potentially better than Aguero. Needs to stay fit and uninjured and if he struggles with that at Milan- slow-paced league, best sports science set up in the world- I don't have high hopes. Superb player though.

21 and always seem to be injured nowadays, hes dating berlusconis daughter as well I think so cant see this happening!

Good god, I know its just a rumor site, but how do they get two very basic pieces of information wrong (Pato's age, Milan the capital of italy?) wrong in a story that is barely 200 words? A single proofreading would have caught at least one of those, unless the people writing are themselves so uninformed they dont know the difference.

Anyway, Pato, in blue would be absolutely sexual. Him, Danny, and Torres would be able to leave any defense in the dust

I don't buy it, but it would please me.

I have always thought that Pato is a little over rated myself. He is so hyped up but when ever i have seen him play (which i will admit isnt a massive amount of games) i havent been that impressed.
