Right as the January transfer window opens too.  What do they expect the new manager to accomplish now?  A bad situation for any manager to come in to, and I too hope Shearer gets it.  I would be amazed if he did anything, a la Roy Kean.  I said Kean would do nothing, and have yet to be proven wrong.  I will say the same about Shearer

Think thats a bit harsh on keen, he picked sunderland up bottom of the championship having not won a game and won the league with them, if they survive i would say he's done very well

dnt think he should have left wanderers in the first place anyway

Perhaps..........

But he has taken a club (with the budget they have) about as far as was possible. Newcastle were a significantly bigger club with a bigger budget and it made sense that if he wasn't going to get a gig at one of the big 4, it would be one that (budget/fans wise) is just outside of that group.

Believe it or not, the are actually taking bets about Jose going to Newcastle.  he's not the favourite, and not the least...but they are still taking the bets.  Actually, this makes me feel somewhat better about him being linked with the pool.  They seem to be linking him with everything out there!

Sorry, about Keane, I should have stated my initial gripe about him was that he was not Premierhsip material.  Mainly because of all the fawning that was going on over him "Sir Alex's understudy for so many years" and crap like that.....even though he was just a player.  I like his direct approach when talking about players and teams, but I don't think he was worth the sh*t being talked about him being so great.

Shearer is a Newcastle legend to the fans, but he has been smirking about in the background for too long.  I thin it is time that he gets put to the forefront of the club, and shown up for what he is....a parasite on Newcastle managers

Read in the paper that he was surprised - goes to show Sam hasn't got his finger on the pulse - cause he was the only f**ker in world who was

Feel sorry for Sam, one of the few northeners in football I actually respect.

There was an excellent documentary on him about 2 years ago how he he changed and modernised coaching techniques. Using spreadsheets and stats, it seems long before Jose.
He really studied the game and the EPL, thats why Bolton played the way they did because it was the most effective way of getting results with the resources at his disposal.

It is of course the Board at Newcastle that are incompetent not Sam.

People go on about Sam being an ideas man with all his technology and backroom specialists, and say that he needed time...what garbage.

If he had all these IDEAS, how come the conclusion came down to pumping longballs up to the Titans that are Alan Smith (5'8) or Femi Martins (5'9)?

Or the 'ideas' of playing men out of position?

And as for TIME, if someone is building a wall, and you can see it is wonky and bricks are in the wrong place, then surely it is best to stop him before it does more damage!!!!

He had a style in mind and wanted to build a team around that style. Jose Mourinho pretty much did the same thing at Chelsea only difference being he had a great deal more resources at his disposal to bring in players like Drogba and Paolo Ferreira who suited his footballing style at the time.

They've sacked the third most corrupt manager - allegedly - and are now looking at the second most corrupt, if only they would go straight for Terry Venebles it would save Irish football fans a lot of heartache...

Geordies are up in arms, they want to know if Redknapp has got the job, so they can make up their 'ARRY OUT' banners in time for the weekend {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif
