  2. Great comment. I would further state that it was a problem of formations as well: in big games we should just play a 3 man midfield, otherwise top teams are able to match our system quite easily. wrt Arsenal, Xhaka and Ramsey is better than what we have since Matic and Fabregas are not that good in a midfield pair so should have played a 3 to have an extra body in there like we did vs Liverpool (similarly to what you said about having a player who needs both qualities of matic and fabregas), or like when we changed the system vs Spurs in the semi final.
  3. The same guy who reported this first is reporting that they're close to singing Mendy. They got rid of a lot of their fullbacks so it's clear they're going to sign
  4. It's not the issue of it affecting us but moreso that it will just tarnish more debates. Now people are going to use this as some kind of stick to beat chelsea over the head with and chelsea nwill be looked upon with even more irrationality. Although it's funny to see people hate us at soem points it just looks really dumb (like this) and is quite annoying to see everywhere

  6. Every single rival fan that I see on other forums are attacking the club and JT for doing this. This is mad.
  7. Because I think it's a better idea to buy a promising yet already supremely effective player in Silva -- I don't think Arsenal would consider selling to us at all. They'll probably look to offload the guy to Bayern for 20m cheaper than they would to the PL club. Also, Silva would not cost that much. Figures above 80m or so would indicate the player has achieved many things as well as being very marketable. Silva has shown many great things but not to the level of Pogba/Ronaldo/Higuain etc. and not to mention Monaco aren't really in a position to be saying no considering their finances
  8. Supposedly according to SSN both of the Manchester clubs are looking to spend between 250-300m this summer! That's absolutely insane. Let's see how much we spend in comparison
  9. Bakayoko is probably the most replaceable from that team. It's a shame we're not looking at B. Silva instead since he'd be a pretty big upgrade on our right wing
  10. If there's a chance we lose Hazard, I want to go for Dembele. Guy is an exceptional talent -- probably will be better than Hazard in a few years time if he progresses at the rate he is now.
  11. Do we really have to sell him? As was said by numerous people on other threads one of the biggest complaints about our squad is that we don't utilise or have depth. Fine if we get Bakayoko (btw there are probably better alternatives) but if he can't play then somebody like Matic seems like just the kind of player that would be suited to replace him
  12. delete ffs what's with these double posts
  13. Indeed. We're doing very well but we need to improve in a few areas, as highlighted above mostly Rashford that has been playing -- and only due to injury problems for Van Ghoul's squad do people know about him
  14. Around the time of his appointment I remember Juventus fans saying that one of Conte's biggest faults was his big game performance. I don't remember if it was only for away records (that would make sense given his near-impervious home record) but if we see the games this season it looks like the comments have some merit. Arsenal/Spurs/Man Utd comfortably beating us without us getting much on goal, poor against Liverpool who had barely obtained any points during that period. Man City we were clinical against but we thankfully scored our few chances whereas they failed to put away multiple of theirs (many pundits and writers arguing that if they had the game would have been over by HT If we are to maintain title challenges and progress in Europe then I really hope we can work on this through tactical nous and greater use of the squad because let's face it, comments about improper utilisation of the squad don't stem through Conte, but from years ago.
  15. Everton away is gonna be tough man
  16. Not to mention Manchester United too who almost never lose at WHL
  17. I have a bet on Spurs to win 4-0 so hopefully they score another
  18. Sanchez did next to nothing against Navas and he's a fantastic winger in his own right. I think Pep has drilled enough confidence to the player so much so that you'll rarely see any winger destroy a fullback when it comes to top teams (not to mention the players around him to help)
  19. Think we're going to be rekt. Not sure why but I feel delph gonna have an amazing game
  20. Tottenham's next three fixtures are f**king easy to ours Swansea, watford, bournemouth at WHL
  21. Kelly and Delaney are some of the worst defenders in the PL ffs (from what people on another forum are saying)
  22. “F*** off, Mourinho” chant #cfc fans after Mourinho wanted Hazard booked for diving. Mourinho holds up 3 fingers (for titles he won here). from a few reporters
  23. Well your assumption here is not accurate, I'm not sure what point in telling me this when your counter doesn't offer much than 'They have better players in KDB trust me I've seen Pep' Elaboration on my part would be helpful though, so below is what I mean: I said they have Touré as an option i.e now he's playing and not excluded out of the squad when he was all season which isn't false. City's team generally hasn't pressed efficiently until Pep came in to the point where Aguero is putting in a shift, as we've seen against the likes of Barcelona so while it's likely that we're going to see Gundogan alongside KDB/Fernandinho I doubt Pep would include him in the squad again if he didn't feel he was at least somewhat mobile. The above has shown he's often able to change the game in an instant by bullying the opposition and being one of the best passers in that team (which could be a problem for our midfield like it was for the first half of Spurs as well as Liverpool when they passed triangles around the likes of Kanté, although tbh we weren't playing the same formation there). He also pops up with a screamer every so often If we're defensively sound like we have been, or if we bring on Branna early on to try and shut up shop, he'll probably bring him on to help open the game up or alternatively if the game opens up with the players on the field then Touré is an option to help exploit that, especially if one of his current players isn't up to it on the day (i.e while Gundogan is just as good as a passer he hasn't done it to nearly the same level as he's done with Dortmund whereas we know Touré can do that with City) so his mobility relative to the rest of the players won't be as much an issue. Put it this way, City have Toure as an option is worse for us than Pep not having him as an option; he's not a liability.
