Or do we think its a good idea to have no manager going into a cup final. Maybe give a guy 3 days to prepare the squad for it then if we lose sack him too.

Interesting article on him.

T-val got a reaction from strider6004 in Luis Enrique?Appointing this guy is a step back in my own opinion. He is not tactically flexible. His as$ was saved by MSN at Barcelona and the people at the helm of affairs currently won't sign those kind of players.

T-val reacted to TomCFC85 in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerWe're not Man City, we're no longer the big boys with the big cash.
We can't afford to keep replacing managers when we no longer have infinite cash to help them achieve their desired formations and squads.

T-val reacted to coco in Callum Hudson-OdoiFast track him into the team until Barkley looks like a player again. We must not let players like Barkley and Fabregas stop his progress.
Same with Bakayoko & Drinkwater stopping Ampadu progressing, they both look better already, and if they were at Liverpool or Arsenal or Spuds they would be playing on merit, forget age.
Christensen has put Luiz on the bench, as soon as Andreas gets injured, our defence (was best in league) ships in three goals in no time. Take note Chelsea, have faith in the younger players.

T-val reacted to Nickcook26 in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerI'm not sure the managerial merry go round is as laughable as you suggest. Real Madrid are on their 10th manager since Roman took over, but does anyone ever say they are a laughable club because of this? They also may be looking for another manager soon if Zidane carries on this poor run.
The longevity of Wenger and Fergie make us look bad in comparison, but short managerial reigns really are mostly the new norm. I disagree Roman is "laughable" because he sacks managers.
Also, laughable transfer windows? Most transfer windows, Roman has funded squad improvements and for that we should be grateful. This has resulted in the success we never thought we would have. You can count on one hand the amount of transfer windows Roman has perhaps failed to improve the squad. You could question how we spend it, but money has always been available. He must have been through around 30 transfer windows as owner now.

T-val reacted to Slojo in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerI have some big questions for Conte at the moment
-Why is he afraid of the Kante-Drinkwater pivot? The same central midfield that won Leicester the title 2 years ago
-Why on earth is Bakayoko still starting the majority of games? It's quite clear, from biased fans to commentators/pundits that Bakayoko is not having a good season, we get that he's young and he's 40 millions worth, but is that a valid reason to put this season in jeopardy? We can still win a good number of things this season but we can't when the team is incredibly out of place and we are fine with playing mediocrity for the sake of blind faith.
-What was even the point in signing Drinkwater? Him and Bakayoko were near enough the same price, yet Drinkwater is rarely playing, he wasn't even on the bench today. What's the point in the singing? Why did we sell Matic and loan out Loftus Cheek to replace them both with an untested disappointing signing like Bakayoko, and proven PL player who we never really seem to play?
-Michy Batshuayi? It's quite clear he isn't rated, he's barely even a squad player, what's the point in him being here when Conte doesn't even trust him to deliver a majority of the time, why wasn't he replaced in the summer if so, we could have at least gotten a decent amount for him.
-3-5-2 formation, we've pretty much just gone 300 minutes without scoring a goal, 200 minutes before that, and yet we still persist playing this bad formation. It's clearly not working, we should revert to the 3-4-3 which won us the league last season.
-Summer Transfer Window, Finally, just what was the point? We know Conte has already expressed dislike for our transfers, and the board interactions with transfers in general. But what on earth is going on? You don't need to be a football manager to know that our problems were pretty simple last season, we needed more rotation options on the width, and an upgrade on Matic & Cahill. Selling Matic didn't bother me, but why did we replace him with one player who Conte barely has any interest in and one player who was very unproven.. Anyway, that ship has sailed. Alonso looks shattered every game, Zappercosta was a good backup signing, Rudiger looks weaker defensively to Cahill but he suits the system a lot more than Cahill did, but other than that what have we done? We haven't upgraded the team and we still lack depth, this should have been addressed straight away and could have been with the players we sold.
Last season it was clear our strength was having to play once a week, doubling up in depth was something we needed to address ASAP. I cringe whenever we play weekend games after playing midweek now, and that's almost every week, especially Champions League games.

T-val reacted to Zeta in January Window 17/18He's been all right, but let's not be blinded by blue-tinted glasses. He did well against Stoke, but the last couple of games he was bang average and misplaced a lot of passes. He's okay as a squad player.

T-val reacted to Bloo in Tiémoué BakayokoI *iss myself laughing when thinking back to the pre-purchase hype surrounding Baka.
We were told we were getting a younger version of Yaya Toure - all power and speed.
And what did we get; a guy that almost hits a force field when he gets within 2m of an opposing player, a guy that ambles after the opposition when they have passed him on the break and a guy that has difficulty in judging the optimum path between himself and the player to which he is passing the ball.
I don't buy all this setting-in crap either. We paid a finished article price for a player who is clearly far from being anywhere near Chelsea first team standard.
He seemed to be full of himself before joining us and no doubt his agent, parents and family dog all think he is the Bees Kness in true X-factor family support stylee- and we suckers bought the story.
Who on Earth sanctions the purchase of players of this calibre?
-
T-val reacted to abramovich in Alex SandroKante was a good pickup, but Luiz was the last minute panic buy because we were chasing other defenders all summer long and couldn't land them. I'm glad he's matured and came back a more solid player, but let's not rewrite history here.
Also, the problem with "it's only halfway through the transfer window" argument is that while the window is open until the end of August, the season gets underway next week. Going into a new season with an unbalanced squad that lacks depth and quality is far from ideal, and we have a pretty tough schedule early on, with Spurs and Everton in August followed by Arsenal and City games in September. This summer we also went on a commercial trip to Asia, which probably didn't help preparing the team properly.
We can only guess the inner workings of our negotiating team and how they deal with transfers, but from the outside it looks like we have a tendency to take time and not rush into anything. It's probably wise and has to do with us being reluctant to overpay and being taken advantage of, but time and again it looks like we fail where other teams succeed. We regularly go after players that are unavailable and spend too much time and effort for naught and end up buying third or fourth options from our shortlist of targets late in the window. And guess what, when you consistently settle for back-up options, eventually you end up with an inferior squad.
I do hope the board drew the right conclusions from our past mistakes and hopefully we're in for some exciting surprises before the end of August. Otherwise, we're in big trouble.

T-val reacted to Davey Baby in Alex SandroWe haggled over Lukaku, then were guzumped by Utd. We haggled over Danilo then were guzumped by City. Van Dijk was seemingly on our radar but we baulked at the fee. Some will be glad we're not paying over the odds, others less so.
We've made a lot of money through sales since Jose joined us for the second time, maybe someone knows the figures? It's a lot of money. We've won two titles since then. I'm wondering about our net spend, since the summer of 14/15, what is it? Let's also remember we're probably going to sell Diego this summer, so more money.
Other clubs are quite clearly happy to splash the cash but not Chelsea unless we recoup it in sales, strange seeing as we must be raking it in with television money and the winnings from our two championship-winning seasons. Even Liverpool and Arsenal are splashing the cash and looking to buy more, Liverpool are bidding big on Keita and VVD. Arsenal are reluctant to cash in on Sanchez despite him being in his last year, and similarly Ozil who looks like staying for 300k a week.
I was expecting a big window this summer because there were obvious areas of weakness in the first-team and the squad. So far the only player we can confidently say has been upgraded is Matic, whom we're selling for the same price we bought Bakayoko. When you look at the way City and Utd particularly have strengthened it's pretty alarming. Ake, Zouma, Terry, Chalobah and RLC may only have been fringe players last term but in letting them go we've lost depth and we already had a shallow squad last season, what with letting Oscar, Mikel and Ivanovic go last winter. So, including Matic, Aina and Begovic, we've let go of 11 players since Jan and brought in 5, including Caballero and Christensen. Excluding kids, we only have 3 CMs, 2 WBs, 3 AMs and 2 CFs, with the season less than two weeks away. It's pretty startling. Our squad needs depth, badly, and ideally we'd improve the first team a bit. Isn't that what we should be doing? it's a strange approach we're taking, particularly with letting Utd buy Matic but maybe there's a method to the madness. Maybe there's no need to panic, just yet. Right now, the way things stand, it's difficult to see us being highly competitive with our squad but there's still time, time for a few nice surprises. Hopefully everyone at Chelsea feels everything under control, otherwise I can't imagine they'd be selling Matic right now. We have no right to expect a glut of world class players but so far I think the window has been undeniably disappointing.
Maybe the most disappointing aspect is the contract situations. Conte didn't extend as I hoped he would and neither Courtois or Hazard have extended, which is very worrying. If they don't extend you can almost be sure this is their last season, as there's no way the club will let them enter their final years, not the way Chelsea is run these days, with their eyes firmly on the balance books.

T-val reacted to abramovich in Alex SandroI think our biggest problem this transfer window was that we're selling much faster than buying. Regarding our midfield, we sold Oscar and released Mikel in January, in the summer window sold Chalobah and Ake, loaned out RLC and now selling Matic. The only midfielder we've bought in that period of time is Bakayoko and he isn't even fit to play yet. And the season starts in less than two weeks.

T-val reacted to brakeit in Alex SandroI don`t get some people here, it`s like they give the money. What exactly you want, Chelsea to be like Arsenal ?
Of course the board promise Conte big signing, otherwise he would not become Chelsea manager at first time.
We was sacking everyone, and finished 10, without CL football, who exactly would want to lead us and become our manager?
Conte grab huge risk there, and he make us Champions, Tell me 1 other name, that would want to come here in the situation we was ? Probably someone who doesn`t care about reputation, he will come, take big money compensation, from the sack he will get, and that is.
Marina Emanalo fu**** 2 windows in a row 2015 and last year, they should be in Conte debt till life.
He save their a***.
Conte said many times our squad is thin. And from the winter till now the board sell exactly 12 with Solanke(tho he not played for us).
And that in a season, when we didn`t play in the CL.
And what the f*** Conte will think about our squad now ?
Morata is not f*** upgrade on Costa, he may never will be. And no way he won us so many points, like Costa did. I don`t see other real upgrade, cause Bakayoko is injured, as well as Hazard. So till mid september, our squad will be with less qualities for sure.
And you got to buy how much you need. When you sell 11 players, then you have to be ready to buy atleast 11 new.
You can`t sell 11 players and bring 4 and said we can`t buy 5 or 6 more.
Then why the f*** sell all the player, that could be used?
And stop with this b.c. money talks, cause untill now, we are not give anything. This is the money from the players we sold.
We sold players for almost 150m. pounds, And we are about to sell Matic and Costa for probably 80m. pounds or even more.
We are Champions of England, and we get high profit as well, and even higher cause we will be back in CL.
So i don`t see why not give Conte what he want. No one is saying we will spend every season so much money.
But when you will get more then 230m. only from sold players, and the board could give 100m. more, so Conte to build superb squad to defend the PL title and be a factor in Europe.
When you build once a good team with players in age 22-26 years old, there won`t be need to spend big in every summer. You will only correct minor things.
We should have beat City for Walker and Mendy, cause they are players, that are high class and young 23 and 27y., and can work for you atleast for 5 years, while Mendy for 8 or 9.
