  1. No doubt. He is a liability. And in the big games he costs us. Like today. Goal 1. Goal 3. Take your time folks. Watch it at your leisure.
  2. Carvalho ? Sorry Jack you are having a tin bath. Goal 1 and goal 3. What the fack was Carvy doing for those ? He is a centre-half. A centre-facking-half. Ballack is the least of worries when our centre-half is playing in front of him. Sorry Just - I know how these Spuds games get to you so I hesitate to have my say back, but.... Carvalho is a victim of the whole JT/Essien situation. Essien is a great, great player, but he is no centre-half, and I don't blame him for that. Carvalho is making the best of a bad situation. If Essien had any experience, he'd have let Berba go for the first goal and caught him offside - the third goal was a team effort, just plain bad decision making on about four players part. If Carvalho is getting the sharp edge of your tongue, what about Cashley? Once again we find THE WORLD'S BEST LEFT-BACK playing like a novice, trying to kick the ball with his wrong foot, ending up on his arse on more than one occasion when he should be standing up. Carvalho is giving his best for the team - there are a few others in front of him when it comes to pointing fingers - but the fact is the team was a shambles today, a complete and utter joke. Fair enough one or two came out with a bit of credit but on the whole the team was b*****ks, and that includes Ranieri, er Mourinho! Jesus H Christ Jack !!!! For the third goal Carvalho was so far in front of our back line he was practically in the Shed Upper!!!! What the fack was he doing up there ?
  3. I expected more of a defense. Both from G4 and Carvalho.
  4. Partially Loz,? Carvalho played his natural game today. Mostly in midfield or at right back. The man is a liability. He couldn't hold a position if you nailed his feet to the floor!
  5. Totally agree geezer. He took Carvalho to the clearners.
  6. He did Loz, but Carvy went chasing right after him. And he should know better. Watch how he chases the ball. Carvalho had a nightmare today.
  7. Carvalho ? Sorry Jack you are having a tin bath. Goal 1 and goal 3. What the fack was Carvy doing for those ? He is a centre-half. A centre-facking-half. Ballack is the least of worries when our centre-half is playing in front of him.
  8. After Diarra's run out today against Rottenham, I think he has a long way to go before he can step into Maka's shoes. Postionally, all over the shop.
  9. Can someone who knows defending, (not you G4), please tell me what CARVALHO was doing for goal no 1 and goal no 3 ? Watch them again people. He is paid to be a centre-half.
  10. Like Moos I have a horrible feeling they will score TT. But I fancy 3-1 to us. What's the best odds you can find for that TT?
  11. I'll find out tomorrow Rob. I've had nothing to with the bookings. One mate has done the flights and hotels, another has sorted the trains. There's nine of us going now. Should be good. Five of us are garaunteed tickets through the Euro away club the rest, (all true Blues), will be winging it. So, if there's any euro club members who can't make it, I'd be very grateful for a shout on the tickets.
  12. Booked and sorted Glory. Seven of us going at the moment. Fly Luton to Barcelona early Tuesday morning, then train to Valencia. Fly back from Barca at night on the Wednesday. ?170 return. Direct flights were going early morning from East Midlands on the Monday, returning on the Wednesday, for ?200 ish.
  13. It was a crap game, and Clarence the cross-eyed scouser was the only highlight that I can remember. We had to walk back into the city centre, which was a pisser, but we all ended up in that big Irish pub just opposite the Cavern. They had a live band on and we stayed in there 'til 4.00am, got pished and had a good laugh with some of the yokels. Has to be said Rob, top place for a night out Liverpool.
  14. Rob, I have to tell you this story 'coz I'm sure you'll laugh. I was at your place for the CL 0-0 last season and coming out of the ground, in fact right outside the gate, was a scouser waving a flag on a stick and giving it large with your much beloved "istorey" song. He came right up, singing away, and it was a joy to see he was a wearing a ................. shellsuit!! 2005 and he was wearing a shiny shellsuit! As if that weren't enough the poor sod was so boss-eyed he was staring in six different directions at once. You couldn't tell who the fack he was looking at. Honestly mate, we all pissed ourselves laughing. You might do istorey in Liverpool, but no-one can ever accuse you lot of having style.
  15. Thinking of going myself, but all options look pretty expensive so far. Added to that is the fact that UEFA have yet to punish Valencia and Inter for the prolonged mass brawl the other night. Failing to control their players ? Unarguable case given the TV footage I would have thought. UEFA will probably make them play the game behind closed doors or at a neutral venue. Wouldn't wanna book flights and then find we can't get in or it's in another country. Hang on a minute! I've just remembered Valencia are G14. That solves that one then. UEFA G14 How much were those flights?
  16. It's a game of opinions G4. And you are entitled to yours. However, it would seem your opinion was not shared by many in Stamford Bridge last night. I would love you to comment specifically on the Carvalho decision though.
  17. Gem, being the talented individual you undoubtedly are, could you please make a new avatar? I'd like a panoramic picture of the new Emirate's stadium with five minutes of tonight's game remaining. When the only people still left in the ground were the TV commentary crew, the tea lady, the groundsman and the groundsman's cat. Looking round all those empty seats, I'm certain even Whinger had facked off................ Probably looking for a new job. Just for the official record. Does anyone know what the biggest Library in the world is?
  18. Not sure about what came through on the TV, but my neighbours definitely knew what I thought of the ref He was totally inconsistent - he rightly booked Robben for diving (his second dive in about 5 minutes), then let a Porto defender get away with exactly the same thing without even giving a free-kick. Overall, I thought his refereeing was very poor - no surprise there, then. I feel Liam and G4 equate us getting through the tie as automatically meaning it was a good performance by the match officials. When, in fact, nothing could be further from the truth. I mentioned Drogba in my last post. But reading through it again, I feel I haven't fairly represented the opposite view. I realise I never mentioned how Mr Rosetti was equally contented to watch Porto players kick, push and pull Drogba and then inevitably wave play on with a cheery smile and an extravagent spreading of the arms. In truth Bluebeard, I thought the man was an abomination of a referee. He scared me to death everytime he put the whistle to his lips. But in the true tradition of many of the "top" UEFA referees he was very deeply tangoed. And for that alone, he should be congratulated.
  19. we are being cleverly lulled into a false sense of security. that's why they gave liverpool barca- because they knew barca would be out of form. I find this a bit of a head-scratcher. I felt sure that the howls of derision that accompanied most of Mr Rosetti's decisions last night would have come through loud and clear on any TV. Drogba was the recipient of a many G14esque decisions on the evening. For much of the game it seemed he had only to smile at an opponent and Mr Rosetti would gleefully stop play and award a free-kick. To be frank, most people in the MHU seemed to find him wildly inconsistent. A vivid case in point was his failure to blow for the blatant obstructino on Carvalho late in the game. To coin a phrase it was "Russian roulette refeereing". You just never knew what he was going to do next. Fortunately, thank God, it never cost us on the night. But a good refeering performance? Methinks not, and judging by the noise levels, and the "you don't know what you're doing" chants, many in the ground obviously felt the same way.
  20. I don't agree that he gives us zilch - a large amount of our attacks are started by Maka doing the simple things well and releasing the likes of Robben, Lamps and Ballack. You are absolutely spot on Loz. If it were judged solely on first half performances, no way did Maka deserve to be subbed. He was the ONLY person in front of our back four winning the ball. Lampard, Ballack and Pilkingtons, (UK's biggest glass manufacturer), were all facking woeful for that first 45. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen Lamps play worse! We were talking at half-time and thought he would take Ballack off, (let's face it Lampard will never be subbed), bring on Boulahrouz and push Essien up into midfield. Not one of us said, or thought, he should take Maka off. It was purely a tactical switch. Nothing to do with the way he had played. Speaking of Essien, he was absolutely immense last night. I would lose Lamps before I would lose him, I think he has become that important to us. Mikel played fantastically well when he came on, but that should be no real surprise. A few of us on here have been saying this kid will be awesome for sometime now. Surely Ballack can't keep him out of the starting line-up for much longer?
  21. Sadly, I think you're right.
  22. Don't let Loz hear, but I wouldn't mind Tevez at our place either. I believe he is a very decent player who simply went to the wrong club. I bet it was a very hairy walk to the tube station for the Spuds fans after the match.
  23. Sounds like more good advice in there TT. My cousins were well into the dogs at one time and ran a few but don't bother now.
