Yes, and of course. I'm not a huge fan of his, but he's still a decent manager - Liverpool have declined massively since he left them.

Talking about it on SS2 now, Michael Owen seems to be a huge fan of Rafa though he isn't sure he's the man for the job - says he's very defensive minded, very well organised, but it won't be good for our more creative types.

That's three managers in a row now that in my opinion Torres has played a big part in the dismissal of.

I was watching the game yesterday just thinking, who would I vote as MotM for us? I couldn't think of anyone, except Ramires, because he was a little bit less crap than the rest, and put in a good shift. It wasn't since the days of AVB that I'd thought that... last night was just depressing, but still gutted to see Robbie go :(

I'm not sure if whoever posted the picture of Curbishley was joking or not, but actually IMO he's an excellent manager who was utterly f**ked over by both clubs he managed. Not saying I'd want him at Chelsea, but honestly I'd probably prefer him over some of the other candidates we're linked with. No chance of us getting Moyes then...?

Wasn't he the same person that said he misses the good old days when it was more about having a fight with opposition fans than enjoying the game itself?

The problem for me, is that they surely wouldn't have got rid of Robbie unless there was a real standout candidate available. Which there isn't. Furthermore, Pep, who seems to be many people's preferred option for the job, isn't available until next season. If we got rid of Robbie, and appoint an interim manager until next season, I'd have to seriously question the people in charge of the decision.

This would surely destroy whatever tiny amount of confidence Torres still has left. Loved the Drog, but we absolutely have to move on.

Ramires was the only player who looked like he cared. Cech was fantastic for 90% of the game, but sorry, it's hard to vote someone as MotM when they were at fault for 2 goals

Gutted for Robbie. Roman was clearly desperate for the Champions League, and he gave it him, who's to say we couldn't have gone on to win the league this season? Hell, we're not even out of the league yet. What I will say however is: 1) Rafa is not a bad manager. Look at the joke Liverpool have become since he left. And look at the players he bought in (Torres, Mascherano, Alonso etc). If he is our new manager we should support him 100%. 2) We were looking clueless. Much like we were during the final days of AVB, the last few games have been utterly depressing - really un-organised at the back, lacking a threat going forward. More importantly, like last night, most of the players looked like they didn't even care. I'm still gutted. I wanted to give Robbie until the end of the season at the very least. The fact he's bought in some fantastic players this season and is trying to take us through a transition period... it's simply mind blowing that he was only given until November. Really disappointing.

I'd love to hear Robbie chants at the game, but a protest? f**k that. Completely unnecessary. Roman is clearly a fan like the rest of us, sure he's maybe a little impatient, but so are many other fans - people have been calling for Robbie's head for a few weeks on here now, and it was clear that he wasn't ever first choice for the job. No good can come of protesting against Roman.

Yeah I'd add Blackburn too. I really don't think Sunderland will get relegated this season by the way, they have a stronger squad than lots of teams around them, and IMO a better manager than a lot of them too.

Have to say, when I saw the word 'Realistic' in the title I was not quite expecting a post like that. Baines? We already have Bertrand and PvA Forster? We already have Cech and Courtois Hummels? We have Terry, Cahill, Luiz, Ivanovic and when Terry retires, we will have Chalobah The others range from nice to haves, to dream signings that are incredibly unlikely to ever happen (Neymar) - honestly if we got even two of those players I'd be surprised.

I hate all of these different scenarios that would see us scrape through. Tonight, we absolutely cannot afford to lose.

Sturridge has to start this one. If he's desperate to play Torres, play Torres further back, not Sturridge. I still think Torres has a lot to offer, but on the weekend we had someone playing as a forward who was desperate to play as the striker (and boy did it show by the number of chances he had) and a striker who worked his socks off but was seemingly scared to get into goalscoring positions (again showed by his number of chances). Danny HAS to start up front today.

Agreed, I like that lineup a lot, but I'd be tempted by Luiz, even ahead of Cahill, especially for CL games. (did anyone notice how yet again Luiz got slated for his performance on the weekend, yet Cahill made arguably more mistakes than he did?)

Wait, Snoop Dogg? I guess that's that then. If the most influential man in modern day football is trying to entice him to Celtic there's not a lot we can do.
