Nordsjaelland v Chelsea (CL) 2/10/12 KO 19:45 BST
Good to see Hazard on, I like Moses but he had very little impact tonight. I think we should go for Moses in more physical games (ie the QPR game would've been perfect for him) and Hazard in the more open games, like this one.

Nordsjaelland v Chelsea (CL) 2/10/12 KO 19:45 BST
Great pressing by Torres, great ball through from Lampard and a great finish by Mata. Doing well to go in a goal ahead against a team that really look to be no mugs. Would like to see Romeu and Marin given some game time.

Strongest CB pairing
And yet I'd still be pretty confident going into a game with Luiz and Ivanovic as our pairing. Shows what great options we have.

Strongest CB pairing
I'm probably the happiest I've been with our CB setup since we had JT, Carvalho and Gallas - say what you want about Gallas, he's a c**t, but he was absolutely fantastic for us and formed a great partnership with JT. Terry for me is still the first choice at CB, Luiz as others have said is maybe inconsistent but also utterly brilliant when he's on form. Cahill is consistent and a top defender, then we have Ivanovic who do a fantastic job at covering if things get really bad too. With some young defenders (Ake, Chalobah etc) about to emerge from the academy it's pretty exciting times, and I'm sure at least one of them will come through to take up the mantle from JT.

John Obi Mikel Appreciation Thread
Nice compilation video Tommy ^ I agree with you, especially that Mikel's main flaw (by far) is his lack of concentration. Unfortunately he doesn't play in a position that you can get away with playing as he sometimes does. If he was putting in a fantastic performance on the wing or up front, playing well for 95% of the game but making some awful mistakes it'd probably be easier to forgive. Likewise if he was a goalkeeper (see: Gomes, world class in terms of shot stopping, but made some absolute howlers) or a defender (Luiz often got a lot of stick for similar reasons) it'd be even more noticable. He needs to cut that out. Stop taking silly risks, and stop switching off. I still really rate him as a player but he really needs to sort his head out and try to be 100% focused for the entire match.

Smartphones
So tempted to root my S3, from previous experiences of jailbreaking (iPad, iPhone, Apple TV - none have gone smoothly) I'm a bit apprehensive though!

Why aren't *all* games televised?
Why? Genuine question.

Why aren't *all* games televised?
Please excuse me if I've massively overlookd something, but I cannot understand why on earth every single game isn't televised. Take last night's game for example, let's just say hypothetically you could pay £6 to watch it. The money is then split £2 to the club, £2 to the broadcaster, and £2 to the FA. You get to watch the game without having to spend lots on travel etc You get to support your club financially The FA gets some money to put into development I think the usual arguement is 'it'd mean less people go to games' but would it, really? I try to go to as many games as possible, but when I have to travel 200 miles and then pay £50 to see Chelsea play Stoke it's not exactly viable to do that twice a week, not to mention the limited availability of away tickets. If anything I see that as another benefit - it'd possibly bring the price of tickets down, but the club wouldn't lose out because they'd be making so much by broadcasting it - remember as well this would be a global thing, how many people world wide would have paid to watch us play against Wolves last night?

Smartphones
It's definitely a Chinese knock off, but judging by the reviews it seems to be a good one.5" 5" is actually huge for a phone too. I've just jumped from an iPhone 4 (3.5") to a Samsung Galaxy S3 (4.8") and the difference is astounding.

Chelsea v Stoke (PL) 22/09/12 KO 15:00 BST
No doubt, as long as he's not carrying any injuries after that stamp (of sorts) My first game of the season and pretty damn excited for this one, have a feeling we're going to hit Stoke hard after a couple of somewhat dissapointing draws.

The "everything you want to say about Torres" thread
I've lost count of the number of times he's been potentially through on goal, struggled for pace, and the defender has caught up with him. A few people made comparisons with RVP, saying that he doesn't have pace and yet over the past couple of seasons can't stop scoring, but to me it's a poor comparison because they're entirely different players. Torres always used to run in behind the defence, leaving the defenders for dead, being 1 on 1 and finishing clinically. The ONLY time I've seen him do that for Chelsea was during Barcelona, which yes, he did very well under lots of pressure, but being realistic he was only in that position because he sulked after stupidly losing the ball and didn't bother to chase back. I still love Torres, and really want him to do well. Right now I just cannot see it happening though. To his credit last night I think Juventus did a good job on him, he tried a lot of clever tricks etc but he was crowded out and it never really came off for him.

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
I don't see why, they're what, second in the league with a game in hand, and were IMO very unlucky to lose against argueably the best team in the world, managed by the best manager in the world.T There was some sloppy defending last night from City that's for sure, or rather for the most part they defended well, but seemed to get carried away after they scored, whilst I agree that Mancini has to take some of the blame for that, how many teams go to The Bernabeu and take the lead twice, only to be defeated with an injury time winner. A Real team managed by Mourinho. He doesn't f**k about at home often.

Chelsea v Juventus (CL) 19/09/12 KO 19:45 BST
Watching the two teams you support play each other is probably the exact opposite of how you'd feel watching say Liverpool vs QPR. ie hope for a good clean game, with no sending offs, and absolutely no injuries.

Chelsea v Juventus (CL) 19/09/12 KO 19:45 BST
Cech Azpi - Cahill - Luiz - Bertrand Ramies - Romeu Moses - Oscar - Hazard Sturridge A lot of players under-performed on Saturday and Sturridge/Moses completely shook things up when they came onto the pitch, as a result they deserve a start. I'd stick with Ashley Cole if he doesn't need a rest, and I was quite reluctant to leave Mata (argueably still needs a rest) and Torres (poor against QPR) as they could be well suited against Juventus

Moses Quote
Only saw MOTD but he did look lively - hopefully he becomes a regular starter for us. Tempted to bring him into my fantasy football team :D

The "everything you want to say about Torres" thread
1) It shows that Torres really wanted to stay on the pitch 2) It shows that Torres wasn't happy with his performance and impact on the game Both are kinda positives, or at least can be turned into positives. Yes it was petulant, and no I don't like to see players doing it, but at the very least show that he's hungry for minutes and goals.

UEFA Sanctions for Athletico - FFP
Well done UEFA, this will certainly help them get out of financial trouble. Annoyingly, unlike the majority of money in football right now, this was actually well earnt too. /sigh

Romeu interested in Barca reuinion.
@XFactor what film is that from? Edward Norton ftw And €15m for Romeu....? What? I'm sorry but that doesn't sound even slightly realistic, and at this moment we'd be mad not to take that kind of money for him. I'd like to see him given more of a chance though, he was so promising in the early stages of his career last season, but really seemed to go backwards under Robbie

QPR vs Chelsea (PL) 15/09/12 KO 15:00 BST
Think we need to be ready for a physical test, and most importantly of all we need disciplined players who can keep their heads. Putting Moses in would be a great shout, I think we need Ramires playing further back too. Would like to see Romeu given a game tbh. Cech Ivanovic - Terry - Cahill - Cole Ramires - Mikel/Romeu - Bertrand Moses - Torres - Hazard Hopefully Terry and Cole are fit, if not then play Luiz instead of Terry, and Bertrand dropping back to support Cole.
