Oh god. Syndey, you usually speak sense on here, but just what the christ are you on about? The guy does well to get himself into a good position, then spots Miereles (the guy who set up his previous two goals) in a perfect position for a shot and lays it off to him... and he still gets criticized?

Being even more picky, I thought he came across badly in the post-match interview, f**king hell did he look sulky. Odd to be honest, I've been a massive supporter of him on here, and the first negative thing I say about him for months has nothing to do with how he is on the pitch :D Ah well. As long as he keeps working hard for the team I'll still love him.

Really hope Torres starts this one, he's waited so long for a goal now and after a good performance has two - I think playing him as well as Drogba could be our best option for this one.

But there's a fundamental difference between them. Torres was playing simply like a man with zero confidence. In that situation the player needs to be backed 100%, motivated, encouraged, and absolutely everything possible should be done to get them playing at their very best again. Sturridge on the other hand is playing well. He has bags of confidence, good trickery, good vision, a great shot, great technique in his passing etc, but he often chooses the selfish (and wrong) option. That needs to be stamped out of his game, because as good as he is, he needs to learn when there are better options, and sometimes take a simpler approach. Honestly Sturridge almost reminds me of Luiz in that you can see he oozes quality, but sometimes the decision making and refusal to take the simple option can really cost the team. Luckily Di Matteo seems to have really sorted Luiz out and he looks far better for it, here's hoping he can do the same with Sturridge.

Agreed, I genuinely don't believe we would've controlled the game as well as we did with Torres on the pitch. He offered a great outlet for us, whilst also doing some great pressing and defensive work. He also created a couple of good chances for himself, and had Ramires not panicked and gave the ball to Torres far too early, could've been through on goal for what would've been a fantastic opportunity for him to score...

Tempted to go for Luiz simply because he was hobbling about at the end, absolutely destroyed, but still gave his all, but Drogba? Damn. Interesting what some of you guys are saying about certain players, I agree that Mata was fairly anonymous by his usual standards, and Essien was okay, but god damn he lost every single aerial battle, without even coming close to getting the ball.

Sorry what, RDM's job is to continue from the work that Jose did? 4 years ago? People really need to let that sh*t go. The way we played last night was incredible, but it certainly didn't remind me of a Mourinho-esque performance. I also don't like the way people are making out like we only did well last night because Robbie has an entirely different goal to AVB. The players look happier, they look better motivated, they look like they're playing in a system that suits them - everything about the Chelsea we saw last night is greatly improved from anything we saw under AVB.

Gem, I can assure you that my post wasn't aimed exclusively at you. ;-) I do agree with you though, the passion Robbie showed last night was on a whole 'nother level. Just incredible to watch, really added to the moment for me, seeing Robbie go absolutely wild when the final whistle blew :D Poor Torres though... really don't think he was expecting Robbie to come from no where and jump all over him like that! heh.

I think if you look in most industries it can be useful for everyone to have a say, not just management, and of course last night it seemed JT was certainly louder than others... I've heard the same comments as Zola but frankly, as long as he's not undermining the manager I couldn't care less if we perform like that. Saying that, this thread is pretty disrespectful for Robbie D who clearly set out the team well last night, got them well prepared and motivated. Yes, it doesn't hurt for JT, or anyone else for that matter to chip in and try to help out, but we shouldn't underestimate Robbie's impact either.

I think people have short memories, since AVB was incredibly animated when he first came to Chelsea and showed a lot of passion. Either that, or people just remember the nervy, depressed looking man he became when he left. But I agree that it was great to see the passion last night, Robbie D celebrated it as if he was a player, I know it's early days but I feel very confident with this guy in charge, something I never felt under AVB, and you can see the players are enjoying playing for him too. Hope he keeps this up, if we have a great run in the CL (we've already exceeded my expectations, after we lost the first leg I was somewhat hopeful but realistically didn't expect us to process) and secure a top four finish I hope he gets another go in charge next season too. He's no mug in the transfer market either, didn't he bring in Odemwingie to WBA for just a couple of million?

Wow, what a game! Absolutely loved it, but my heart was racing like crazy for the last hour or so, phew! I hate to say it, but that performance last night was better than any performance this season by a considerable way. Not only did we look disciplined and organised, we also looked threatening and generally had a fighting spirit that I thought we lost. For all the talk of the 'old guard' they were the ones that really helped drag us through this tie, people can talk about hungry young players all they want, but it was clear last night just how much Lampard, Drogba and Terry want this. So many top performances yesterday all over the pitch, summed up for me by Luiz limping around at the end but still not putting a foot wrong, he looks transformed under Robbie D, and so do we as a team. Just an incredible night.

Hi guys, Unfortunately due to the fact this game is (hopefully!) going to be re-arranged for a week day (the current date is Saturday 14th April at 3pm) I won't be able to make this as my girlfriend won't be able to get the afternoon off work. f**k off. Agreed 100%. This match is winnable but we're going to have to be at our very best. If our fans can go some way to intimidating their players, and spurring on our own, we need to do what we can.

All this talk about Spurs 'slipping' is nonsense. They've had three very tough games, and they battered Arsenal for most of the game, they better United for most of the game and they battered Everton in the second half. For some reason they've been very inefficient, and have dominated tough games but came out a loser in each, but will they continue like that? As much as it must be worrying for them to be playing relatively well and still losing, personally I'd be much happier if they were playing badly. Arsenal... well, god damn, all of that talk about their poor form at the start of the season and now look at them! Even players like Rosicky are playing well. I still think RVP is absolutely vital to them though, and it'll be interesting to see if he lasts the season. I'm still somewhat confident of gaining fourth, maybe even third - but the two teams above us are (unfortunately) no mugs. It won't be easy.

Think we should give it until the end of the season before we even think about extending Robbies contract tbh, though I'd love it if he could do a job for us. Interesting that when AVB was sacked some people were calling for Harry, yet he's making some really glaring mistakes lately

As much as I love Luiz and think he did well in the second half, can anyone please explain the sub decision? Ivan looked very dangerous at times in the first half, got forward well. Interesting to see Luiz at RB though, a position we've all imagined him in... And at the expense of the rather poor Bosingwa too...
