  1. And I cannot believe you think Malouda and Sturridge played better last night than Kalou has recently.
  2. I'm certain that last night was both Ferreira and Turnbull's last game for us. I'm expectant that it could also be Malouda's last game, and we could possibly see Essien and Malouda going in the summer too. Who knows what will happen with Torres and Sturridge. Romeu and Lukaku need to go out on loan, desperately. I fear for their future here and so far don't believe they have lived up to their potential, though it is very early days. Not sure I'd want any of these players near the team against Munich.
  3. Agreed that all three were lucky to stay on. I cannot beleive we saved up our worst performance of the season against them, absolutely woeful all over the pitch. It's indefensible and honestly I'm annoyed the players let down both the fans and Robbie in such a way. Shocking.
  4. Maybe they can have Hazard and we'll have Johnson? ;)
  5. For me, he is playing like a player who knows this could be his last chance of silverware and is really rolling back the years in the big matches to get what he wants. I think we should make the most of that - in the CL final I expect him to actually raise his game even further to give the players, the board, and the fans the thing we've all been craving for the past 10 or so years. But after that? Who knows. I do worry that this is his final hurrah, and next season could be one too many for him... but if that is the case, let's hope we really do end the season on a high!
  6. On the one hand I think we desperately need to try different players for the CL final, especially in defense where we will be without Ivanovic, Terry, and maybe even Cahill/Luiz if they don't regain their fitness. On the other hand, I've just looked at the table, and with a potentially easy last game for us, and difficult games for the teams above us, I'm starting to wonder if maybe we could progress into a CL spot afterall...
  7. I actually thought he had a good game apart from the mistake which ultimately (and unluckily) led to their goal, how many times did a Liverpool player run at him, and his timing was absolutely perfect and he took the ball away from them with ease?
  8. Nope, he isn't. Zaki had a run of amazing form, then completely ruined it all through his awful attitude, with Bruce going as far as to describe him as the most unprofessional player he's ever worked with. (oh, and he was a nasty, openly racist c**t) Cisse on the other hand is a joy to watch*, he always seems so happy just to be playing football, constantly smiling, get on with his team mates etc etc * when he isn't scoring two wonder goals past us, of course...
  9. I don't know if the past really comes into it that much when it comes to disappointment though, if you asked Arsenal fans 6 months ago if they would be happy finishing 5th yes they may have gone for that, but if they get leapfrogged by both Tottenham and Newcastle now it'd be a very different matter. Likewise ask a City fan 5 years ago if they'd be happy coming runners up to United, they'd have bit your hand off for a chance of finishing second, but now? Not the case. Yes I'm very happy we're in two cup finals, and in particular cannot wait for the Champions League final, but I'm still pretty gutted that fourth place is now pretty much beyond us.
  10. So if Cahill is the next JT, is Hutch now the next Cahill? :D I think we have some great options at centre back and it's looking very bright for the future too - Cahill and Luiz are still young, and with Chalobah and Hutch coming through as well, we're sorted!
  11. I think winning the CL in Portugal was even more impressive than winning the league tbh
  12. You know it's a bad season when you let that Arsenal side sneak into 3rd. Seriously if the table finishes as it is now (which it is very likely to do) I'm going to be pretty disappointed. The two cup games now are absolutely huge, particularly the game in Munich, certainly the most important match I can ever remember us playing (although that game against Liverpool where Gronkjar scored the winner has got to be up there too, many even more so than the two CL finals)
  13. Only just catching up on this thread, I certainly don't think we were as terrible as some people are making out. Bertrand in particular was immense, and Torres looked great too - at the end of the day we were just beaten by two utterly sublime goals, what a player Cisse is. It was nice to see that quite a few Chelsea fans stayed right until the death too, still chanting and supporting the team. Last night was disappointing, but we rested some key players and both cup finals will not play out as the game did last night. Roll on Saturday!
  14. If that means that Miereles, Ramires and Ivanovic also don't get a chance to celebrate with the other players... then f**k that rule
  15. I can see your logic here, however, for me, by far the most important match of the season is that night in Munich, and it's a real shame he's going to miss it (especially if Luiz and Cahill aren't fit) Even if we lose in the FA Cup Final, even if we finish 6th... if we can win in Munich then as far as I'm concerned Robbie D's tenure here so far has been an absolutely unrivaled success, although winning the FA Cup would be an amazing bonus!
  16. Missiesta, you are a good guy. For all the drama we always get in the Chelsea vs Barca games, let's hope we see you again next year for another great tie!
  17. I don't smoke, and frankly hate the smell of the stuff, but may take it up in preparation of the game in Munich...
  18. Likelihood I could get a ticket with 20 loyalty points...? hah :/
  19. I think the biggest miss is Ramires, his energy is utterly astounding and we certainly wouldn't be in the final without him. Saying that, I think JT, Ivanovic and even Miereles will all be huge losses of course, but if we can get past Barcelona without any of our main three centre backs and 10 men - we can surely take on whoever we may meet in the final.
  20. I swear every time we play Barca my life expectancy drops 5 years, could last night have been any more tense? And the release when Torres finally scored... aghhh! What a game.
  21. I was screaming at the TV as he carelessly gave the ball away and made absolutely no effort to get back... little did I know what would happen moments later! Just amazing. I know he had all the time in the world, but his composure under the circumstances was absolutely superb, very well taken goal and will do wonders for his confidence.
  22. I'd like to vote for everyone too! Just one single mistake in that second half and we'd have been potentially down and out - utterly immense performance all round! If I had to pick though, it'd be between Ramires, Cole, Ivanovic, Bosingwa, Drogba, Lampard, Cech, Mata, Kalou, Miereles or Mikel. :D
  23. I need that Gary Neville noise as my ringtone, never thought I'd say this about the guy - but I could listen to that all day!
  24. Watching from behind, Sanchez is a c**t, but what... Why did JT do that?
