Posted April 26, 201212 yr I think Terry being out of the final is a good thing...he now has to make up for it in the FA Cup final and remaining Premier League matches. Terry has always played very well after contraversal incidents, often showing up with goals and/or rock solid performances...I expect no less this time around. I feel bad for him now looking back on the whole thing but he'll still get a winners medal right?
April 26, 201212 yr He'll probably score in the FA Cup final...and that's on the pitch, not after the match.
April 26, 201212 yr I can see your logic here, however, for me, by far the most important match of the season is that night in Munich, and it's a real shame he's going to miss it (especially if Luiz and Cahill aren't fit) Even if we lose in the FA Cup Final, even if we finish 6th... if we can win in Munich then as far as I'm concerned Robbie D's tenure here so far has been an absolutely unrivaled success, although winning the FA Cup would be an amazing bonus! April 26, 201212 yr Don't think he does get a medal, I'm pretty sure you have to be in the final squad to get a medal? Not 100% sure and hope I'm wrong but I thought if you were injured or suspended for the final you wouldn't get a winners medal
April 26, 201212 yr He will get a medal but wont be allowed on the pitch or podium should we win. I think they should change this rule. It's just not fair that a player who have perhaps been great and helped the team to reach a final can't be up there celebrating with the rest of the team just because he's suspended. There should be a rule that says that if you have played a certain number of games you can participate in the celebrations. You can apparently ask for a special permission to attend. Abidal was suspended last year but could still be on the podium. I guess they allowed it because of his illness though, so I doubt JT will have a chance.
April 26, 201212 yr Is that so? I think you get a medal as long as you have made at least one appearance (could be wrong), but I had no idea Terry wouldn't even be allowed on the pitch or podium!
April 26, 201212 yr If we do win then Lamps will 100% get JT to join him and i'm sure he will be helping out Robbie on the sidelines!
April 26, 201212 yr If that means that Miereles, Ramires and Ivanovic also don't get a chance to celebrate with the other players... then f**k that rule
April 26, 201212 yr In the league, you get a medal if you play a certain amount of games. However in the champions league I'm not sure. Remember a few years ago when Darren Fletcher was banned for the final for a stupid yellow card? I'm pretty sure he wouldnt receive a medal if they won it. Not sure about JT, Rambo and Ivan though. April 26, 201212 yr I'm pretty sure that suspened players do get medals, but they're not presented to them on the pitch.
April 26, 201212 yr I think Messi got a medal in 2006 and he wasn't playing nor on the bench and the same goes for Park in 2008. So perhaps it comes down to a number of appearances in the competition prior to the suspension.

April 26, 201212 yr If we do win then Lamps will 100% get JT to join him and i'm sure he will be helping out Robbie on the sidelines! I'm not sure he can even sit on the sidelines. If a coach gets a red card he has to spend a game in the stands, not sure they'd let JT sit next to coaches in a suit while he's serving his suspension.
April 26, 201212 yr Latest news from UEFA confirming that JT will be allowed to lift the trophy should we win Happy days Yeah great news. No one would want to win it more than JT, so delighted that if we win it he can lift the trophy and get a medal.
April 26, 201212 yr I posted something on this thread "Regarding our captain JT" but it's vanished from the forum any idea what happened anyone ???
April 26, 201212 yr I think the whole thread may have been removed becuase there were insulting remarks about JT, which you quite rightly pointed out were diametrically opposed to your family's personal experience of him. Why don't you repost here the story of what JT did for you brother?
April 26, 201212 yr I think it would be brilliant if we do win it and JT strides out from the tunnel in a suit, taking his jacket and pants off as he wanders across the pitch to show he`s in full strip with "f**k you all" written across his back, picks up the trophy, shows all UEFA dignitaries two fingers, and starts a mass celebration. Lovely. Edited April 26, 201212 yr by dkw

So perhaps it comes down to a number of appearances in the competition prior to the suspension. The winning team gets 30 gold medals and I believe it's up to the club who gets them.

April 26, 201212 yr Latest news from UEFA confirming that JT will be allowed to lift the trophy should we win Happy days Good on UEFA.Obvioulsy they've adopted us as their team now we've dumped their boys out of their competition. I'm just so shocked that the Daily Heil was wrong when it gleefully told us he'd be banned from the after match presentation. Note also the amateurish headline next to the story. It's fiiting that that rag can't even spell the word apologise. Mind you, that headline was true in 2009, if you ignore the 'after red card'! Edited April 26, 201212 yr by Backbiter
