  1. I agree with you, I love the bloke and always said to people he was our only world class player but when was he last consistently good for us? Like you say when Conte was manager. If someone came in with a big bid for him I honestly think we would be mad to turn it down and I’ve had a few Chelsea fans say the same to me.
  2. Don’t think there is much difference in an attacking sense since the new manager has taken over, obviously look better defensively but that’s because we have moved to back 3 and have 7 defensive players.
  3. It's a bs stat, you can find any stat to make a player look good or bad. I did it the other day. I could also say when Jorginho has been involved in league games this season we have only won 54% of them. Also 6 of 17 games was champions league and only 1 of them was a real competitive game in Sevilla at home, group games are always sh*t.
  4. Like I said in an earlier post I was talking over the same season that I believe an carling cup win can kick a team on. From season to season I just think there are too many variables involved to say whether a cup win can kick a team on directly. If Spurs do win a cup and Chelsea don’t then I defiantly know I’ll be getting it in the ear for a good while and I’m pretty sure Mourinho will be reminding everyone.
  5. I never took the piss out of Arsenal as I enjoy winning trophies.
  6. Chelsea won there first ever title since 1955, I don’t even know what points difference was at that point but of course a league cup win makes a difference to a bunch of players who have never won a league title before. I’m not going to check the points at those exact times City won the league cup and league, it’s not always a guarantee either but it’s been pretty much talked about in football how an early cup win gives the players the appetite to win more. The other competitions are all at the end of season and I’m not even talking about them. I’m talking about what the effect of a Carling cup win can have on a group of players over a season.
  7. Winning a trophy early in the season like the league cup gives the players and the club a taste for success and they want more. It worked for Mourinho and Pep in the past and will probably be the same for Pep this year. That’s what I take from winning a competition and kicking on.
  8. Took the piss out of Arsenal for years for celebrating top 4 like a trophy and it got them nowhere. Always take the FA Cup over top 4 no questions asked, still remember the competition dearly from my first loss as in supporter in 94, semi final 96 and eventually winning in 97. Please can the FA bring back neutral stadiums though, that was a part of the magic of the cup they took away.
  9. Haaland at City would be absolutely ridiculous. Ready made replacement for Ageuro and he will score goals for fun.
  10. Without the fans it's a completely different game. Being at home is much less of a advantage.
  11. Probably more to do with playing in a back 3 rather than a back 4. I dont rate Dave in a back 4 that highly anymore and offensively he is awful.
  12. I do agree with you as Wolves have some tricky quick players and we did limit them to next to nothing but just failed with creating much ourselves. I personally think Burnley sit back and play for set pieces and to stay in the game until the last 10mins but you are correct they failed to implement that gameplan. Spurs are just an embarrassment sitting back at home, Mourinho is lucky the fans are not there because the most I know think they play sh*t.
  13. Burnley deffiantly set up defensively and even more so against the big teams away. I dont think anyone would expect any different.
  14. Jorginho has had 5 starts and 1 sub apperance of 45mins against last years top 8. We have 1 win 3 draws and 2 losses so then we don't have a good record against last years top 8 with Jorginho in the team. See we can all find stats for certain players to prove a point in a positive or negative manner. Alot harder for some like Kepa though

With all the different angles and slow mos I'm sure you can get it upto 30 secs at least.

I reckon Slojo is searching these goals now to make his very own YouTube video 😂

I think any player would decline after 2 major knee surgeries. I wouldn't hold that against a any player, it was actually really awful to see because he was such a great player. Cech was a better goalkeeper before his head injury, much to be expected too tbh. The only comparison I was making in the first place is that a top player would make the keeper work which IMO is true. I wasn't actually comparing Essiens and Kovacics shooting but more just applauding Essiens shooting and power in his shots but maybe that come across wrong. Tbh I only think Kovacic is a good player. Good at the couple of things he does and is a let down in many other things. I feel the same about Jorginho. I think I read you write there the best we have got atm, I think that's true tbh but also they are both replaceable.

We all know the injuries crippled Essien, why would I want to watch an Essien from 2010 with a busted knee? They might be completely different players but all Kovacic is good at is bringing the ball out and countering the press. I want a lot more from my midfielders than that and Essien had everything.
  19. Ernie_blue replied to a post in a topic in Football (Other Teams)
I am now and Kovacic is nowhere near Essien. Essien would bring more to Chelsea’s current midfield than Kovacic and Jorginho put together.

I wasn’t really comparing them as players because that would be an injustice to Essien. One was world class and one of the best in Europe at his peak and the other sh*ts himself when he gets to the opposition box.
  21. Ernie_blue replied to a post in a topic in Football (Other Teams)
Surely Kovacic does practice shooting in training? That was one of the best parts smashing shots at the goalkeeper.
  22. Ernie_blue replied to a post in a topic in Football (Other Teams)
That’s the difference between Kovacic and world class, the best players in the world would at least make the keeper work, well Essien would smash the top corner.
  23. Maybe in the long term Chelsea can compete with the likes of Ziyech, Pulisic and CHO. Atm we are well behind City who have Aguero and Jesus. KDB who is world class and players like Silva, Mahrez, Foden, Gundagon, Torres and Sterling. There options are unreal.
  24. I was commenting that I would rather move to another country being a millionaire than not. I believe it would help the situation being rich, having everything set up for you, leading a better life than the majority of people. Hardly having to worry about anything in life. Regarding mental health well its obvious anyone can suffer from mental health issues. I have and still do myself. I believe in some people the suffering of mental health issues can be eased by having money. If I was a millionaire I would drive nice cars, women, own gym, holidays and that just touches the surface. My mental health issues would still be there but I believe it would help with the suffering. With getting help that's just obvious when you have to wait days rather than months or years.
  25. I’m guessing it will be ok even if it snows as there’s now worry about fans getting to the ground.
