Diego is easily the toughest to lose and in an ideal world we would still have him and Morata. However the rest I think have been adequately replaced (in my mind, could be wrong, we'll see how it pans out). I refuse to let Oscar and Matic be talked about now like they weren't well below their best (and I was a huge fan of both).

I agree it can be interpreted differently, I guess I'm trying to highlight the shi*t storm people were brewing last year when we bought Luiz and Alonso and thought we couldn't challenge.

Bakayoko, Morata and Rudiger is an awesome window, there is no denying that. Two of those players are hot property and big game/CL experience. Everyone's been calling for local loans or to move youth on if they aren't getting a chance, so we played that card and got RLC a prem loan and sold Chal and Ake. We've recalled and played some youth too, which hasn't been the norm in recent years (Christensen, Musonda, Boga). We've also sold Matic who has been in decline for 2 years now to a team that didn't benefit when we sold our then best player. So yeah, we been active as f*ck!

Great post. Let's just save the meltdown in general. Window has been excellent, yes we have offloaded a lot of players, but 6 months ago everyone was saying "can we do something with these younger players". We sold to a rival? Yes we sold our weakest link for the last 2 years to a rival. Christ in Crimea. If Conte stays three years then I think that's just about the lifecycle of a manager. I would consider that a huge tick. We are a success driven club, anyone would think we haven't been in the mix for the least 12 years.

Even when deemed fit after ACL it will take him a while to get into gear. I cannot see who goes out of the starting line up if we buy this guy, and there is no way he comes without walking into a team. All three at the back deserve to keep their spot. Moses also deserves his spot, so couldn't just move Dave there.

Really need our middle group of players to hit the ground running as a few of our most important players this season are underdone. I'm looking at Willian, Bats, Cesc, Moses. It's a friendly too so if we need Baka to get some minutes then get him some minutes!

I don't think we have anyone at that in between age (that isn't on loan) apart from Baker. I think**** Mount and St Clair are midfielders but also probably only 18 if that. Kyle Scott also?
